Did they eventually get off the Island? If so, HOW?

Gilliagan's Island was cancelled before the castaways ever found a way off the island.
However, NBC decided to do a reunion movie, in which the castaways were rescued.
The entire cast (minus Tina Louise, who wanted a ton of money to return as Ginger) reunited in "Rescue From Gilligans Island" in 1978 and it was a huge success. Gilligan and crew returned home, but were once again stranded on the same island at the end of the movie.
In the 1979 TV movie "The Castaways on Gilligan's Island," Gilligan and company were rescued once again, and Mr. Howell decided to turn the island into a posh resort, with the castaways remaining on the island to take care of the guests. A 1981 movie "The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island followed in 1981.
The network was hoping to revive the series with the whole resort idea, with loads of guest stars each week (shades of Love Boat and Fantasy Island), but low ratings of the two movie sequels forced them to kill the idea.

Whew! Glad I had my coffee today.
As much as I'd like to take all of the credit...

Yea without a replacement for Ginger and in 30 miniutes. I mean to revoloutionized the way people looked at being stranded on a desert island.

Off the Ginger/Tina topic kinda, but you can buy Rescue From Gilligan's Island on DVD at eBay.com. (For $4.00, in most cases.)

Info provided with a little help from "The Complete Directory Of Network Primetime TV Shows" Thank you! I'm just wondering 'cause they have always came SO close. ( Eventually someone would screw up, usually Gilligan, thus Skipper would put on that I'm-gonna-kill-you expression, hehee )

Anyway, Ex:: One of my favorites, which I caught at my mom's cousin's place, was on TVland today. It was about this guy (Barney?) who was chosen to be put on a desserted island for a week alone in order to win a $10 thousand prize award was halarious. If they only thought at the time he would be picked up by helicoptor. Which also makes you wonder, why people not start pouring in right after they found a new island?
