View Full Version : Celtics on fire - even series up with the Heat
hawkeye123 06-04-2012, 01:32 AM The Boston Celtics tied the series with the Miami Heat.Rajon Rondo is playing out of his mind right now and so is the truth and the big ticket.I think they all know this could be there last chance at a ring. And what a great finals that would be.The 2 old dogs in the yard.the Celtics and the Spurs.I'd love too see it.Go Celtics! I do like the Spurs though.

Heat will still win the series because both teams have something in common when it comes to playing at home in the playoffs
Both teams have only lost one game at home in the playoffs
Miami....7-1
Boston.....7-1
The problem is Boston is only 2-6 on the road in the playoffs.

Heat win by 20 or more tomorrow and end it in Game 6. I think the Celtics used up a lot of energy in Game 4 and will have nothing left

MrCleveland 06-04-2012, 10:19 PM As long as The Celtics win this Series...things will be fine!...
Brad Russ 06-05-2012, 05:11 AM I think this series can go either way, but I'm rooting for Boston too. Not a big Boston fan, but can't stand the Heat. If Rondo can continue to play well, I like there chances. Either way, this has turned into an exciting series, which is great for the league, and for fans everywhere.

Yeah I will post on here during the game. I don't get a opportunity to chat about the NBA on here because it's mainly football fans on this board.

Well now that i am here.I will try to give the nba as much play time as i can.I love nba and nfl.But probably the nba a little more.Mostly because i love to play basketball too and because of Jordan.Who could watch the Jordan era and not absoloutley love basketball.
MrCleveland 06-05-2012, 09:53 PM LeBron is NO Michael Jordan!
TVFactFan 06-05-2012, 09:54 PM I thought the HEAT was about to blow the game open when they were up by 13 but Boston hung around and only down 2 at the half.
I;m still expecting the Heat to pull away at some point in the second half
hawkeye123 06-05-2012, 10:11 PM LeBron is NO Michael Jordan!
That is for sure! He's not even on the same level,In my opionion don't get me wrong he's a great player. The stats don't lie.But he's missing heart. The never quit, never surrender kind of attitude. That makes a champion.
TVFactFan 06-05-2012, 10:14 PM The heat pulling away, up 7.
Rondo is the dumbest PG i have ever seen
TVFactFan 06-05-2012, 10:35 PM Well the Celtics have taken a 5 point lead at the end of the 3rd qtr. WOW

You are not going to earn a friend in me by calling Rondo dumb.I think he is the smartest point guard in the nba.But everybody is entitled to there own opionions.Go Celtics!

They arn't losing,They are up by 1.He's had a few Turnovers but that doesn't make him dumb.Look at how many asts and rebs he comes up with on a nightly basis. This kid has heart and fight and he shows it every night.

TVFactFan 06-08-2012, 11:58 AM The Heat will win Game 7 in a BLOWOUT!!!
Brad Russ 06-08-2012, 12:20 PM I got the Celtics in a close one. I think Boston's big game experience will be too much for Miami's youth. Hopefully it's a good game. I turned the last one off after the first quarter.

Not sure why you think they will all of a sudden play better in Miami when they have the opportunity to close the series out at home. The Heat have all the momentum now and that will be enough for the Heat to win by 20 or more

I think this for a few reasons. First, Lechoke is infamous for cracking in big game situations, and this game has about as much pressure as any he has ever been in. Not much more pressure than a game 7 in the semi-finals. Also, Garnett, Pierce, and Allen have tons of experience in pressure situations, and in game 7 situations, Miami? Not so much. Also, if you look at the history of the NBA, when a team is blown out in the playoffs, they are rarely blown out again in back to back games. Out of pride, and embarrassment, they usually come back with a vengeance. If Boston loses, I doubt it will be in a blowout. They are too good, and too experienced for that. I will be a little surprised if they lose in a blowout. Those are a few reasons why I give Boston the slight edge.

In a game 7, you have to play a perfect game and that's not possible for the Celtics when you have a point guard like Rondo who turns over the ball all the time because he plays basketball like he is in the playground. I don't have a job right now and if someone wanted me to bet my rent for the month of July on the Heat winning Game 7, that's how sure I am about the Heat advancing to the Finals.
Rondo is a PG who can't be trusted at all

Well I do agree with that, Boston's success or failure typically falls mostly on Rondo. Will he be the triple double machine who scores 20+ points with 12+ assists, or will he be the guy who gets 7 assists, and 8 turnovers? I think three of the big four will have to play good tonight for them to win. I'm hoping they are up for the challenge.
hawkeye123 06-08-2012, 04:07 PM Well the reason they will win.Is pretty self explanatory. But i will explain it to you.Once again for the 50th time.Firstly the only reason they lost was because nobody could score. They we're in a obvious shooting slump.Make no mistake they will close things out in miami. They have a better team,a better coach, and far more experence. Also they we're not blown out.
Rajon Rondo is in my opionion the best point guard in the nba,The guy is a triple double machine.Paul Pierce is the truth. He's had more clutch game winning shots. Then just about anyone i can think of.I know he hasn't really came on as far as scoring in the playoffs yet.But i remember the season. They won the title. And he was out dueling Lebron and Kobe on a nightly basis with points and wins.If he can do that stick a fork in the heat they are done.Kevin Garnett is a true warrior. The big ticket isn't going to go down. With out a fight. He's playing like he did 5 years ago.Ray Allen still hasn't really came alive. But as we know he's the 3 point leader of all time and that kind of shooting. Can help win any game.
And last but not least. They have the heart of a champion. It's a quality that can't be measured. It's something that you are born with.It trumps anything else.
What's funny is the only reason you think they will lose.Is because you are a pessimist. That doesn't believe good things can happen.I don't get how you can run down a guy.Who is getting nearly a triple double on a nightly basis. It's beyond me.I will take turn overs when a player is getting 20 pts 15 + asts 10 + rebs most nights.
hawkeye123 06-08-2012, 04:12 PM Let's go celtics! let's go celtics! Lebron is going to go home crying again. And what's funny is some how next year when there in the playoffs everybody will expect them to win again.

No the more you believe. The more you achieve:D What i don't get is why people keep thinking Lebron is going to do this.I picked the pistons to beat him. When they did.I picked the spurs when they did And i picked Dallas when they did.Even though i dislike Dallas.

The Pistons didn't beat Lebron, He scored 48 pts in Game 7 at Detroit and advanced to the Finals in 2007 which ended the title run for that Pistons team after being so dominate from 2003 to 2007

Pistons beat him the year before that.
The top-seeded Pistons defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 4–1 in the first round of the 2006 NBA Playoffs, but struggled in the second round against the Cleveland Cavaliers, falling behind 3–2 before winning in seven games. It took them 7 games. But they eliminated Lebron coming back from a 3-2 deficit.I remember watching and being very impressed. Things did not improve against second-seeded Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. Miami defeated the Pistons in six games en route to the 2006 NBA championship.
Brad Russ 06-09-2012, 01:39 AM Oops, I thought the game was tonight. The fact that it wasn't, also falls in favor of Boston imo. Being one of the leagues older teams, any extra rest that they can get is huge for them. I'm not as cut and dry as you guys seem to be on who will win, I truly think it can go either way. Being that I'm not a big fan of either team though, I really don't care all that much either way. I just hope it's a good and well played game. In the end, that's all that really matters to me as a basketball fan.
