Did Hulu edit the beginning of the pilot or did you see the original opening which had Mary drive Rhoda to the airport?


It's on youtube but not connected to the episode since it was only seen on CBS and not ever included in syndication or on the DVD

It is shown in reruns on canadian Comedy Gold (in fantastic quality.. except for the 2-part wedding episode, all episodes are digitally remastered, including the ones that were pretty low quality on dvd), and is part of the first episode. But its more of a scene at the airport where Rhoda leaves for New York.

Makes sense because looking at that episode without the airport scene makes it obvious something is missing. I bet the scene with mary was a teaser on CBS back in 1974 and then the opening credits followed by commercials and then the episode.

The scene is indeed before the opening credits.
