cancellation in season 5?? I mean if the show had a similar run as MTM and was able to do a series finale I would like to think he would have been revealed in the series finale.

This sitcom definitely goes down in history as the most incomplete sitcom of all time:lol:

There was an animated spinoff where you do see his face, but as for ever revealing him, I seriously doubt it.

I think he was a character that was never meant to be seen, much like Vera on Cheers and Maris on Frasier. Both shows come from basically the same people who created MTM and Rhoda.

Because fans never got to connect that funny voice and personality to a actual person.

I don't think that is necessarily a shame though. Sometimes your own imagination is better than the actual reveal, (if there is one)

Carlton in this show is like how Newman is in Seinfeld. His appearances is always a highlight of any episode.

Hello, this is Carlton the doorman:lol:

Interesting, you actually like Rhoda in her own show? Or was she better on MTM?

I will say she is the same on both shows. Attractive and Funny

I beg to differ she was very much different on her spin-off because she became skinnier and more responsible.

Yes I noticed she was skinner on her own show and less insecure but still a little.

I agree. Sometimes, in cases like this, less is more.

A modern day example would be Mrs. Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory. I hope they never show her on camera. Even at her son's wedding, she was just a voice in the background.

And because of that, I guess that's why his voice is the HIGHLIGHT of every episode.

It also led to a successful career as a voice actor in several cartoons.

When I found out this guy played Carlton, I was a little disappointed. Didn't match up with what I heard...
