Has anyone here heard of this movie? It came out in limited release a couple months ago and has already garnered alot of attention. It's a movie about bullying, and the effects that bullying can have on kids and their families. It follows a couple kids around in a school, and shows them throughout getting bullied unmercifully on a daily basis, and how the teachers look the other way, many even denying the obvious. Also tells the story of a ten year old boy who killed himself because the bullying became so bad, and nobody ever stepped up and defended him. It's a movie about awareness, and getting the truth out to people. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it comes to DVD. Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep are big supporters of the film, and even fought to change it's R rating to a PG-13 rating so that kids could see it. The trailer is below.

I've heard about it and it is definitely one I would like to see. It's about time we see a movie from the victim's point of view, as so many times they are the brunt of jokes in movies.

Exactly! This is one of those issues that has been around forever, and most people just look the other way, and sweep it under the rug, pretending it isn't happening. Clearly, based on the trailer, there are many who are still doing this today as well. It's a real problem, and many have suffered in silence daily due to bullying. My hope is that this movie will help open people's eyes to the truth, giving them a voice, and bringing some awareness to this very real issue.
And you are right. Too many movies (particularly teen comedies) only add to the problem by making people who are different the brunt of cruel jokes. A movie like this is long overdue!

I'm gonna see this when it comes to video because bullying is a serious problem that nobody wants to do anything about. The police and school principals need to lock up and expel these fools who are bullies because they aren't gonna stop doing it unless the police and school principals do something. I've been bullied before several times and i hated it. I've been dissed a lot at my former jobs by ignorant black men and that's why i don't like being around ignorant black men. I almost got killed one time by a ignorant black man who bullied me in school because he was choking me at the playground and there was some kids watching and they didn't do nothing. I saw some of them laughing. This one black guy that i was friends with, i told him what happened and he let me in his apartment so i could call my parents because i wanted to call the police on his fa*got ass. His b*tch ass probably in prison now or dead. That's where most bullies end up.

I'm sorry to hear you were bullied Isiah. I was too, which is part of the reason I dropped out of the eigth grade, I just couldn't deal with it. My bullying wasn't in the physical sense, they knew I could handle myself physically, so they just mentally abused me. Called me *****t, spit on me, etc. I sometimes look back and wish I had done more to defend those who were bullied unmercifully. I did not do nearly enough. I'm glad a film like this is being made, so that hopefully kids will start taking a stand, and sticking up for those who can't defend themselves.
