Richard Dawson known best for hosting the “Family Feud” and starring in “Hogan’s Heroes” has died, ABC News has confirmed.

He was 79. Dawson was born Colin Lionel Emm in Gosport, Hampshire England on Nov. 30, 1932.

Dawson hosted several incarnations of the popular game show the “Family Feud” after it debuted in 1976.

In addition to hosting “Family Feud,” Dawson appeared on the show “Match Game” as a guest panelist.

He also appeared in films like “The Running Man” and television series such as “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,” according to IMDB.com.

i didn't know the kissing bandit had a son. i knew he had a daughter. he was younger than bob barker,and i thought bob barker would outlive him.

He had two sons with his first wife, and a daughter with his second, :rip: Richard, you will be missed!!!!

I watched The Running Man last night as a tribute to him.

Two of the Actors in that show wound up becoming Governors. Mr. Schwarzenegger and Mr. Ventura (California and Minnesota, respectively. :D

i thought richard dawson would outlive bon barker at 88, he will be 89 on dec ? of this year.

He was the most absolute best Family Feud host. He had such a wit, and just the expression on his face whenever a contestant would give a stupid answer!!

When I was younger "back in the day", way before there was cable(can you imagine??), I remember seeing Richard on 4 different things throughout the day - Family Feud, of course, Hogan's Heroes, Match Game, and Laugh-In!!
