Hi everyone...
I don't know if this has ever been done before, but I was wondering if anyone had ever introduced themselves on this board - even briefly - and talked about why Happy Days was so special to them???

I'll go first.

My name is Michelle, I'm from Massachusetts, and I'm 24 years old. I was very young when HD made it's original run (not even born for the first couple of seasons) but the show was my definate favorite. Still is. I am an only child and lived in a neighborhood with no other kids so I had alot of imaginary friends. Richie, Potsie, Fonzie, Joanie...you get the idea. At four years old, I was convinced that I was going to marry Chachi. Fun show, great television.

Any one else?

I found this old post of yours *Shelle* and no one answered you. So now I will. Happy Days brings happy memories. A simplier time. There was plenty of jobs. Everything then had style, from D.A.'s to saddle shoes. From classic cars to the best of rock and roll. And I had a BIG crush on Fonzie. It was a fun show!

Im Crystal and Im 19. I love Happy Days. I started watching it I believe in 7th grade--MAYBE 8th. From the beginning I knew it would always be my favorite. It just brings me to a simpler time, like Sheryl said. Ive always wanted to live in the 50s, so this is as close as Ill get. Ron Howard couldnt hurt either!;) Im also a HUGE fan of L&S. For some reason, HD and L&S are the only shows I watch on tape-- its usually not the same watching shows on tape, but with these 2 its different.

Hey, so what if it's old? It's a good subject, especially now that the boards have plenty of people.

Anyway, I'm Brent (not my first name -- I actually go by my middle name) and I'll be turning 22 this year. I have a cozy living in Maryland, and work in Pennsylvania in a coffee shop. I went to college for a spell, but dropped out because of money. But I still hope to be a professional writer, so I freelance for papers and magazines (nothing nationally published yet, but I submit something new to someplace new nearly every week). I was very very young when Happy Days was cancelled, but for as long as I remember I have been watching the show. Joanie and Chachi are my favorite characters. Joanie because she's cute and I used to crush on her alot, and Chachi because he reminded me alot of myself (and... he had Joanie!). I registered at this board about a year ago, which was right around the time I wrote my first fanfic. I didn't think it would happen, but writing my HD series has become a favorite hobby -- I never had the drive to do a complete series that wasn't my own creation. Finally, if I could meet any of the characters, it would be Mr.Henry Winkler. Afterall, I've already seen his jacket! :) :) :)

I' m and I'm 32. I started watching Happy Days during the original run and can say I was one of those caught up in "Fonziemania". I idolized The Fonz, for the way people respected him and how some were in awe of him. I loved how he stood up for Richie, who couldn't defend himself, which I understood at that time. I also took a liking to the time period more for the attitudes everyone seemed nice) and the music.
All that remains true, but with more. Seeing the reminds me, of the 70's & 80's and my own childhood. I'm a nice person ,but all the "shy" aspects of my personality have changed to the other direction pretty much. I see some of the characters some of the characters in a different light. But now wacthing HD is a unique experience for me. It's unique watching the show and enjoying as both a 50's showcase and 70's nostagia.
