I just followed the breadcrumbs to the list of 1980's sitcoms on the board. The Fact of Life is the most discussed sitcom on this board with 8,181 threads as of now and 81,914 posts. That's more far more than any other 80s sitcom.

It was really one of the building blocks of the teen orientated format. It came along at just the right time too on the heels of all the Norman Lear stuff but before the archetypical era of sitcoms where everyone got pigeonholed (see almost any TGIF show) although as I've mentioned elsewhere as FOL rolled on the cast got pigeonholed as well.
That aside though the first couple of seasons truly are a joy to watch even now all these years later.

I give you girls a hats off! Yes you Blair, Jo, Tootie, and Natalie! I love this show! I mean they talked about sex but they didn't say "Hey I wanna sleep with this guy, he's hot" at all! They were four bright and funny girls! And who could forget Mrs, G? :D

Ironically, though FOL is super popular, they still won't release season 6-9 on DVD. That makes tons of sense...

I agree it was nice and somewhat wholesome but it really wasn't that funny. I sort of compare it to Happy Days.

Thanks!
Just like Happy Days I watch neither show anymore though I sometimes watched when they originally ran when I was in the single digits!
