Which show do you prefer the most: All In the Family or Archie Bunker's Place? and why?

All in the Family (1971-1979) was the best. Personally, if Edith wasn't in the show, I would never have watched All in the Family.

Archie Never got as mellow as George Jefferson did by the last few seasons of the Jeffersons. Archie is still Archie in Archie Bunker's Place by the End of the Jeffersons George is a shell of his former self.

Very true, George Jefferson was totally a different person. The 1981-1982, in my opinion was the last season of the "old" George after that from 1982-1985, racial jokes and remarks were hardly ever used.

I know. Isn't it great? It was annoying me how George was always making some smart commen. I'm glad his friendship with Tom got better. Archie did mellow down in later years:

He hired a black housekeeper/nanny and allowed her to eat at the kitchen table with the famliy.

He kissed Sammy Davis Jr.

He still was still a little ignorant racially, but he was better for it.
