(The Kramdens and Nortons are on the beach on Coney Island. They are having a barbeque.)
Ed: "What fun we are having today Ralph."
Ralph: "You said it Norton."
Ed: "I got to tell you. Saturday, all of my fellow sewerworkers were going to have a barbeque right down in the sewer. Everything was ready to be served until the tide came in."
(Ralph looks like he going to get sick.)
Ralph: "Norton, don't discuss the sewer right now."
Ed: "All right. All right."
Alice: "Trixie, did I tell you how much of a fuss Ralph made when the Gotham Bus Company didn't give him Friday off too so he can see Scott & Todd from WPLJ do their show on Point Pleasant Beach?"
Trixie: "They did? How did Ralph react?"
Alice: "With as much yelling as possible but not enough for him to get fired."
Ralph: "Those BUMS!"
Ed: "Those BEASTS!"
Ralph: "Oh well. I am having a good time on my day off."
Ed: "I should say so. You told me you plan on eating eight hot dogs."
Ralph: "I certainly am. I am soo proud to be an American. I am sooo glad that our troops are out of Iraq and back home after almost nine years."
Trixie: "Me too Ralph."
Alice: "So am I."
Ed: "Those troops that were in Iraq are sweet kids. Those who lost their lives in all the wars our country has had are all sweet kids."
Ralph: "You can say that again Norton. We should be proud of the fact that we have troops that helped make this country a free country. A country that is as great as this one is."
(They all sing a song about our troops.)
Ed: "This has been a great day Ralph."
(Ed accidentally pushes the grill over and it hits Ralph's foot.)
Ralph (yells): "OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! PUT 'EM UP NORTON!"
(The girls try to make peace.)
(Jackie Gleason walks on stage.)
Jackie: “Ladies and gentlemen, let me say that I notice that we got a lot of U.S. Servicemen in the front row."
(Audience cheers.)
Jackie: "I wish you all a Happy Memorial Day and as always the Miami Beach audiences are the best.”
(Audience cheers.)
Jackie: “Time to introduce the cast. First: Jean Kean."
(Jean Kean comes on stgae. Audience cheers.)
Jackie: "Audrey Meadows."
(Audrey Meadows comes on stage. Audience cheers.)
Jackie: "Art Carney."
(Art Carney comes on stage. Audience cheers.)
Jackie: “Good night.”
(Audience cheers.)
