A show with a premise that was groundbreaking now seems mundane. PLUS: Was San Francisco (http://sfist.com/2012/05/21/mtvs_real_world_premiered_twenty_ye.php) the best season?

I've watched The Real World since its infancy, up until the last few seasons. Now its just about sex, getting drunk & fighting, and much of that is scripted. The cast members are now mostly wanna be actors or fame whores. RW has run its course, anyway.

Yes, San Francisco WAS the best season. REAL people, REAL ambitions, REAL stories, Real interaction, REAL WORLD!!

I loved the first season of The Real World. It's so odd to watch it now knowing what it has become. I think watching it as a kid, it made me want to be a better person because all of the residents of the house were interested in how they could be better people.

I watched the very first one in NYC and for me that will be one of the best, along with Hawaii, where you see that nonstop partying and drugging isn't really all it's cracked up to be. But with NYC you had a very diverse cast, in both looks and backgrounds, and the goal was to actually be as real as possible. Now it's morphed into yet another "let's get a good-looking bunch of sex-crazed boozers together and see how many hook-ups will happen" and none of it seems even remotely unscripted.

They might just as well film The Real World: Jersey Shore. But the creators of Jersey Shore beat them to it!
