k here's the beginning of my new ff..now just remember this is just to get it started...the main point of the ff doesnt even really have that much to do w/ this case but w/e...:)



Jinny Exstead and Magda Ramirez have been working on a murder case for about three days. They managed to get a sketch of the murderer, but haven’t found him yet…

**11:00 a.m.-The Division**

Jinny Exstead is sitting at her desk reading through old criminal records trying to match up the police artist’s sketch of a suspect to actual criminal photographs.
“any luck yet Jin…?“ asked Magda as she flipped through her files. “None of these people even come close…this is just a waste a time” Jinny replied as she combed her fingers through her hair. Magda shrugged and got back to work.

“Hey I think I got someone” Mag said while she signaled for her partner to come over to her desk. Jin got up and walked over to Magda’s desk to see what she was talking about. A small grin appeared on her face as she said “I think we got our guy…”

“Tony Costanetta huh?” Kate said as she looked at the record which she saw as she walked through the division. Jin and Mag looked up. “Looks like you got him…” she points to the scar on his left cheek. “the scars even match up.” “Aright so we better go find him then…” Mag said before she was cut off by Captain. “It’s not gonna be that easy. Tony’s part of the Jian Carlo crime family..” she noticed she wasn’t a response “you know…the mafia…” “Great" Jin said sarastically "how are we supposed to catch a guy when pratically everyone who knows him is in the mafia...” said Jinny. “Exstead, I want you to go undercover." captain said "Pretend you owe him some money or something. From what I’ve heard these guys usually meet at Fisher’s Bar downtown.” at this point Mag gave cap a ‘are you kidding me…you’re gonna send Jinny to a bar?!' look while Jinny just looked kind of shocked. “Think you can handle it?” Kate continued. “Uh…yah” Jinny replied in a confused voice. “good.“ she turned to Magda “Ramirez, I’ll have you and a few officers stationed outside the bar.” she looked back to Jinny “You give them a signal when you’ve got Tony under control and they’ll take care of the rest…got it?” Kate explained. Jinny nodded. “yah…no big deal…” she said as she walked out of Captain’s office. Magda stayed however…

“Captain you hafta be kidding…” she began. Kate looked up at her with a surprised expression. “You’re sending Jinny to a bar…c’mon Captain why would you do that?” she asked. “Look, I know you doubt her but she can handle this.” Captain answered. Magda just shook her head and walked out.

**Fisher’s Bar in Downtown SF-11:30 a.m.**

Jinny walks into the bar to find a few guys sitting around. She hardly even studied their faces because she was so busy studying what they were drinking. Finally one of the guys looked over at her. “Aye, wanna drink.” he asked. “Uh..” Jinny hesitated “no.” she paused “You guys seen Tony??” she asked. “which Tony you talkin’ bout lady?” the man asked. “Costanetta” Jinny replied. “aye” the guy sitting next to the man who was talking to Jin said “what do you want with Fat Tony?” he asked. Jinny gave the man a weird look. “I owe him a couple a bucks…is he here or what?” “Aye Tony!!” the man yelled. A tall scrawny man got up and walked over to Jinny. She immediately noticed the scar on his left cheek and knew she had found the right guy. “Whatdya want lady?” Tony asked. “I owe you a couple bucks from last weekend…remember?” she replied. “Not exactly…but if we’re talkin’ dollars I’ll hear yah out.” he answered. “Lets take it outside aright?” Jin asked as she headed for the door. Tony followed her.

“So whatdya owe me for?” Tony asked. “Drinks…last weekend. You bought me about five of em’ remember? I said I’d pay you back and I’m a girl who keeps my word…” “Look lady, I buy a lotta people drinks. forgetta bout’ it aright…” he says as he starts back for the bar. “Aye wait a sec. I’m offerin’ you a couple bucks and your sayin’ no…?” Jinny asks. Tony walks back over to her and holds out his hand waiting for the money. Jinny smiles and reaches into her pocket. “damn…left the money in the car.” she notions for him to follow her ”C’mon, I’ll go get it.” “look I’m in the middle of a very important poker game if yah know what I mean, so lets pick up the pace aright?” Tony says. Just then Jinny looks over at the ‘un-marked’ police car which had Magda and two other cops inside. She tucked her hair behind her ears giving a signal to Magda and the other officers. Before she knew it she heard…”SFPD FREEZE!” Magda yelled as the other cops secured Tony and got cuffs on him. “Aye!!” Tony yelled “what is this?!” he said as he struggled to break lose of the hand-cuffs. “Tony Constanetta, you are under arrest for the murder of Stacy Samuel.” Jinny said calmly. An evil look came in to Tony’s eyes. “I’ll get you for this…you betta watch it!” he yelled to Jinny. “mm hmm…yah well that’s gonna be pretty hard considering the fact that you’ll be in jail…nice try though.” answered Jinny with a smirk. Tony was then pushed into the ‘un-marked’ police car and was gone.

** Meanwhile at the Division- 12:00 p.m.**

A girl who looked about the age of 15 walked into the division. She approached Raina Washington who had just hung up the phone. “Um…I’m looking for Jinny Exstead…” the girl said. “Jinny and her partner are out right now but can I help you?” Raina asked-kind of confused. “Oh” the girl said, disappointed. “Well do you have any idea when she’ll be back?” “No clue, sorry.” Raina answered. The girl started to walk away but she stopped and turned around when Raina said…“Can I ask you how you know Jinny?” “Oh, I’m Jessica, her cousin. I haven’t seen her in at-least six years.” the girl paused. “I live in New York so I don’t get to come here that much, but my mom had to go on a business trip and I was allowed to come with her only if I stayed out of her way. So, I figured I’d spend time with Jinny…I mean I know I’m probably not supposed to be here anyway but I knew where she worked because…well cause my mom told me, so I figured I’d give it a shot.” “Damn girl” Raina said “you talk more than me, anyway, I’ll talk to my captain and see if it’d be okay for you to stay here, at-least till Jinny gets back.” “Thanks” Jessica said with a smile.

...btw..if ur wonderin how jin has a cousin...well um..lets just say her mom had a sister who has a daughter...k?

Jinny and Magda walked into the division laughing about the arrest of Tony Constanetta. “I’ll never forget the look on his face when he realized we were cops!” Jinny laughed. “You and me both Jin” answered Magda. Both continued to talk and laugh until Jessica walked over…

“Jinny?” Jessica asked. Jinny looked around and then back at Jessica. “uh…yah. Can I help you…?” she asked, confused. “It’s me! Jesse!” she said with a smile. “Jesse?” Jin asked with growing excitement. Jesse nodded. Jinny immediately hugged her. “Hey kid! How you been? I didn’t even recognize you!” “I’ve been great!” she paused “Oh yah, if you’re wondering why I’m here…it’s because my mom came on a business trip here and I had to stay out of her way so..” Jessica said before she was cut off by Jinny. “Aright, aright I get it. you’re looks may have changed over the years, but you’re mouth definitely hasn’t.” Jin said. “Here, let me show yah around. This is my partner Magda…” she said as she looked over to Mag. “Nice meeting you.” said Mag. “…and C.D. and Nate, would be here.” Jinny said as she walked over to their desks. “…but they have the day off.” she paused. “Um…Raina, this is my cousin Jesse.” “We already met.” answered Raina. “you got one talkative cousin Jinny.” she said teasingly. “yah, aright thanks Raina.” Jinny said as she rolled her eyes. “Oh and this…” she said referring to Captain’s office. “Is my Captain’s office, but trust me you don’t wanna meet her.” “Aw come on Jin. I met her, she seems pretty nice.” explained Jessica. Jinny gave her one of those ‘you hafta be kidding me’ looks. “Well she is!” Jesse answered. “whatever you say Jess…”

“Anyway, you wanna stay at my, ” she paused “well my dad’s house tonight? I mean, I’m sure my dad wants to see you too and since your mom’s busy anyway…” “Sure! That’d be so much fun! We could stay up all night catching up on each other’s lives and eating popcorn and watching old movies!!” Jesse said excitably. “don’t get ahead of yourself kid…I don’t do the whole ‘slumber party’ thing.” Jin answered. “Right…you’re a cop you don’t do that kind-of thing. My bad.” Jesse answered with a little attitude. “whatever Jin, you make the rules aright.”

*The Division-10:00 a.m.-the next day*

Jessica had permission to come back to the division for the rest of the week if she made sure not to bother anyone. That however was not as easy as it sounded…

“Jinny, I’m bored.” Jesse whined. Jinny gave her an annoyed look. “than why didn’t you stay at my dad’s house…” “because I thought this would be fun! Obviously I was wrong.” Jesse said, annoyed as she slouched back into her chair. “What… you expected to come on cases with me and magically become a cop or something.” Jinny answered with attitude. Jessica didn’t respond. She looked up and continued counting the ceiling tiles and kept to herself for as long as possible.

*The Division- 10:45 a.m.*

“Jinny…” Jesse began. At this point Jinny was becoming very annoyed by her cousin and wanted nothing more than for Jesse to leave her alone. “What now” Jinny replied. “I…um…well I have something I meant to tell you last night but um…” she paused. “I forgot.” Magda glanced over at Jinny to see the irritated look on her face, and then turned back away. Jinny looked up at Jessica…waiting for her to say something. “Well, um…I just wanted to say that I…well I know about how you um…well how u had a” she hesitated uncomfortably. “drinking problem and I just wanted to say that…” Jinny immediately cut her off. “Yah know what Jesse. I don’t wanna know what you hafta say about that because trust me.” she began to raise her voice “I am in no mood to take this crap from a 15 year old.” Jesse had a hurt look on her face as Jinny yelled at her. “I was just gonna say that I respected you for it Jin” she paused “look I know where I’m not wanted. I’ll get outta here right now. It’s been fun…” she said quietly as she gathered the few things she had brought with her and quickly left the division.

Jinny just rolled her eyes and sat back. She soon noticed Magda looking at her. “What…?” Jinny asked rudely. Mag just shook her head. “Jin, she’s your little cousin…aren’t you even gonna attempt to go after her. I mean this is a big city and considering that she’s only been here a few times…” Jinny cut her off and held up her hand. “I get it aright. I’ll go get her…” she said in an aggravated voice as she stood up.

Jessica stormed out of the building with a few tears running down her cheek. She quickly wiped them away as she headed down the steps and started for the street. “Hey!” Jinny yelled. Jesse ignored her. “Jesse!” Jin yelled again. “Ugh” Jessica said to herself as she turned around. “Look Jinny, I’m leaving you alone okay…why won’t you just do the same for me and go away.” she said as she continued walking through the street. Jinny was about to turn around and go back inside when she saw a bright green car speeding down the road…heading right in the direction where Jessica was crossing. “Jess!! Watch out!!!” Jinny yelled anxiously. Jesse turned around and immediately froze when she saw the car coming straight towards her…

Jinny had immediately called an ambulance. However, she did not want to ride in the ambulance with her cousin…she walked back up to the division. Eyes wide open…face pale.

“hey Jin…” Mag began “What’s goin’ on down there?” Jinny didn’t reply. Mag looked up at her. “Jin..?” “I, uh…I gotta go.” Jinny rubbed her eyes. “I gotta get to the hospital.” she said as she gathered a few of her things…hands shaking. “whats goin on…” Magda asked again. “Jessie…” she hesitated. “well lets just say we’ve got a new hit and run case.” she answered slowly. “Oh my God Jinny…” Magda said softly. “Uh…let me drive you there aright?” “I can get there myself Mag.” Jinny answered. “Jin, you don’t have a car remember…?” she paused “look I’m driving you there end of story.”

Jinny and Magda spoke with Captain. Since they didn’t have a current case that they were working on, it was not much of a problem for them to leave.

**The Hospital- 11:30 a.m.**

Jinny and Magda sit down in the waiting room. In about a half hour a doctor comes out. Jinny walks up to him immediately.

“you know anything about Jessica Stanton.” she asks. “I’m not permitted to give out any information on her as of now. Sorry.” Jinny gives him a ‘look’ She flashes her badge. “look buddy, I’m in no mood for this…” the doctor gets a nervous look as soon as he sees her badge. “Jessica Stanton is currently in surgery. I don’t know much else. There won’t be any news on her until much later. I suggest you come back in about 5-6 hours.” he answered. “Aright…thanks.” Jinny said as she turned around and walked away and headed for the door.

Magda looked up to see Jinny leave and quickly got up and followed her. “Where you goin?!” she asked. “the doc said to come back in 5-6 hours…” she said rudely as she continued walking. “Oh okay, well the car’s this way Jin.” she motioned towards the parking lot. Jinny continued walking picking up speed until she was out of the parking lot and close to a bar…without thinking Jinny stormed into the bar.

Mag’s eyes widened as she ran to follow her in. “Jinny!” she yelled. “Get out of here now…” she said firmly. Jinny didn’t respond, she ordered a drink instead. “Jin… don’t do this…” Mag began. Jinny rolled her eyes. as the bartender handed her a shot. “Why the hell would you ruin everything now?!!” Mag said and then grabbed the shot glass and threw it on the floor. Jinny got a very angry look on her face as she rose up from her seat. “yah wanna know why Mag?!!” she yelled. “well let me tell you my life right now. My…my cousin’s in the hospital, the driver’s on the loose…I don’t have one damn thing left to keep me going! Not one God damn thing!! And then finally…FINALLY I find something I can do to feel just a little better and you take it away” she paused. “ Some friend you are…” Jinny said as she stormed out of the bar. Magda just stared as Jinny left the bar. She soon noticed everyone staring at her. “What are you looking at…” she said as she left the bar.
