Nick Stahl -- the actor who played John Connor in "Terminator 3" -- is missing ... this according to his wife.

Law enforcement officials confirm ... Stahl's wife filed a missing person's report with the L.A.P.D. on Monday ... saying she last saw the 32-year-old actor on May 9.

Sources tell TMZ ... it is believed Stahl had been frequenting the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles recently ... and there are concerns he may have gotten himself involved in some bad stuff.

Back in February, Nick's wife had filed court papers, expressing serious concerns that Nick may be using drugs ... and sources say she fears drugs may have something to do with his disappearance.

Report: Nick Stahl Reaches Out to Friends

Terminator 3 actor Nick Stahl, who was reported missing on Monday, has reportedly reached out to friends via email, according to TMZ.com.

Stahl allegedly emailed friends on Friday, apologizing for his disappearance, but letting them know that he was fine. He said that he was planning to seek treatment and would be out of contact for 30 days.

His wife, Rose, filed a missing persons report with the Los Angeles Police Department on Monday. She did not reportedly receive the email from Stahl.





The couple has been separated since January, according to court papers filed by Rose in February. At the time, she asked a judge to limit her husband's visitations with their 2-year-old daughter, Marlo, to eight supervised hours per week.

She also asked that Stahl pass a test to prove that he hadn't taken drugs or alcohol in the previous 24 hours prior to seeing their daughter.

Despite the email, the LAPD has not closed the missing persons case.

Nick Stahl Enters Rehab, Wife Says

After disappearing for more than week, Nick Stahl resurfaced and checked himself into rehab Saturday night, his wife Rose tells E! Online.

The Terminator 3 actor, 32, wrote an e-mail to friends on Friday saying that he planned to get help and seek treatment. It was his first correspondence since Rose had last seen her estranged husband on May 9.

She reported him missing to the LAPD on May 14.
