Building on its momentum from the 2011-2012 season, Paul Lee, president, ABC Entertainment Group, will share ABC’s plans for next season and present the network’s 2012-2013 Fall schedule before the advertising and media communities this afternoon at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall.

Trailers, full episodes and photos of the new pilots will be available to download at www.abcmedianet.com.
A solid mix of promising new series and returning hits is what drove ABC to strong results in the 2011-12 Season. Season to date among Adults 18-49, ABC claims TV’s No. 1 comedy/scripted series (“Modern Family”), the No. 1 drama (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and the No. 1 freshman drama (“Once Upon a Time”). Led by Emmy-winning “Modern Family,” ABC’s 2-hour Wednesday night comedy block continues to connect with audiences, posting its 2nd straight year of growth with viewers (+3%) and young adults (+6%). In addition, ABC is the only network up during the 10 o’clock hour on Monday-Friday as lead-in to affiliates’ late-local newscasts with Total Viewers (+8%) and Adults 25-54 (+7%).

DRAMA
“666 PARK AVENUE”
At the ominous address of 666 Park Avenue, anything you desire can be yours. Everyone has needs, desires and ambition. For the residents of The Drake, these will all be met, courtesy of the building’s mysterious owner, Gavin Doran (Terry O’Quinn). But every Faustian contract comes with a price. When Jane Van Veen (Rachael Taylor) and Henry Martin (Dave Annable), an idealistic young couple from the Midwest, are offered the opportunity to manage the historic building, they not only fall prey to the machinations of Doran and his mysterious wife, Olivia (Vanessa Williams), but unwittingly begin to experience the shadowy, supernatural forces within the building that imprison and endanger the lives of the residents inside. Sexy, seductive and inviting, The Drake maintains a dark hold over all of its residents, tempting them through their ambitions and desires, in this chilling new drama that’s home to an epic struggle of good versus evil.
“666 Park Avenue” stars Rachael Taylor (“Charlie’s Angels,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” Transformers) as Jane Van Veen, Dave Annable (“Brothers & Sisters,” “Reunion”) as Henry Martin, Robert Buckley (“One Tree Hill,” “Lipstick Jungle”) as Brian Leonard, Mercedes Masöhn (“The Finder,” “Chuck,” “Three Rivers”) as Louise Leonard, Helena Mattsson (“Iron Man 2,” “Nikita,” “Desperate Housewives”) as Alexis Blume, Samantha Logan as Nona Clark, with Vanessa Williams (“Desperate Housewives,” “Ugly Betty,” “Shaft,” “Soul Food”) as Olivia Doran and Terry O’Quinn (“Lost,” “Millennium,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Alias,” “The West Wing,” “Jag”) as Gavin Doran.
Based on the book series by Gabriella Pierce, “666 Park Avenue” was written by David Wilcox (“Fringe,” “Life on Mars”), who is also an executive producer along with Matthew Miller (“Chuck,” “Human Target”), Leslie Morgenstein (“Gossip Girl,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “The Lying Game,” “The Secret Circle,” “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”), Gina Girolamo (“The Secret Circle,” “The Lying Game”) and Alex Graves (“Fringe,” “The West Wing”). The pilot for “666 Park Avenue” was directed by Alex Graves. “666 Park Avenue” is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Alloy Entertainment (“Gossip Girl,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Pretty Little Liars”) and Warner Bros. Television.

“LAST RESORT”
500 feet beneath the ocean’s surface, the U.S. ballistic missile submarine Colorado receive their orders. Over a radio channel, designed only to be used if their homeland has been wiped out, they’re told to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan.
Captain Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher) demands confirmation of the orders only to be unceremoniously relieved of duty by the White House. XO Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman) finds himself suddenly in charge of the submarine and facing the same difficult decision. When he also refuses to fire without confirmation of the orders, the Colorado is targeted, fired upon, and hit. The submarine and its crew find themselves crippled on the ocean floor, declared rogue enemies of their own country. Now, with nowhere left to turn, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the Colorado to an exotic island. Here they will find refuge, romance and a chance at a new life, even as they try to clear their names and get home.
“Last Resort” stars Andre Braugher (“Men of a Certain Age”) as Captain Marcus Chaplin, Scott Speedman (“The Vow”) as XO Sam Kendal, Daisy Betts (“Sea Patrol”) as Lieutenant Grace Shepard, Dichen Lachman (“Being Human”) as Tani Tumrenjack, Daniel Lissing (“Crownies”) as SEAL Officer James King, Sahr Ngaujah (“House of Payne”) as Mayor Julian Serrat, Camille de Pazzis as Sophie Gerard, Autumn Reeser (“Hawaii Five-O,” “No Ordinary Family”) as Kylie Sinclair, Jessy Schram (“Falling Skies,” “Once Upon a Time”) as Christine Kendal.

“MALIBU COUNTRY”
When Reba Gallagher (Reba) discovers that her husband, Bobby, (Jeffrey Nordling) a country music legend, has a cheatin’ heart, her world is turned upside down. Reba dreamt of becoming a country star herself, but put her career on hold to raise a family. Now she’s questioning all of that, big-time. With the ink on her divorce barely dry, Reba packs up her sharp-tongued mother, Lillie May (Lily Tomlin), her two kids and the U-Haul and heads for sunny California to begin a new chapter. Leaving Nashville in the rear view, they start over at their Malibu residence -- the last remaining asset they have. Reba gets to know her new open and loving neighbor Kim (Sara Rue) and her son, Sage, but also discovers that relocation to Southern California is going to be quite an adjustment for a traditional southern belle: the West Coast seems like the polar opposite of Music City, and Reba feels like an outsider. “THE NEIGHBORS”
How well do you know your neighbors?
Meet the Weavers, Debbie (Jami Gertz) and Marty (Lenny Venito). Marty, in hopes of providing a better life for his wife and three kids, recently bought a home in Hidden Hills, a gated New Jersey townhome community with its own golf course. Hidden Hills is so exclusive that a house hasn’t come on the market in 10 years. But one finally did and the Weavers got it!
It’s clear from day one that the residents of Hidden Hills are a little different. For starters, their new neighbors all have pro-athlete names like Reggie Jackson (Tim Jo), Jackie Joyner-Kersee (Toks Olagundoye), Dick Butkis (Ian Patrick) and Larry Bird (Simon Templeman). Over dinner, Marty and his family discover that their neighbors receive nourishment through their eyes by reading books, rather than eating. The Weavers soon learn that the entire community is comprised of aliens from Zabvron, where the men bear children and everyone cries green goo from their ears.
The Zabvronians have been stationed on Earth for the past 10 years, disguised as humans, awaiting instructions from home, and the Weavers are the first humans they’ve had the opportunity to know. As it turns out, the pressures of marriage and parenthood are not exclusive to planet Earth. Two worlds will collide with hilarious consequences as everyone discovers they can “totally relate” and learn a lot from each other.

“HAPPY ENDINGS”
Forget who gets to keep the ring - when a couple splits, the real question is, who gets to keep the friends? Alex and Dave’s wedding was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives, for them and their long-time friends... until Alex left groom-to-be Dave at the altar.
The breakup, in the words of one pal, was a “huge game changer” that complicated everyone’s lives and made everyone question their own choices. Alex and Dave were the glue that kept their urban family together: Alex’s sister, Jane, a suburban housewife, and her buttoned-up husband, Brad; Max, their perpetually underemployed gay friend; and Penny, who worries about never finding the right guy.
A year later, this gang is still friends, although Alex and Dave are trying to figure out just where their relationship stands. Penny is convinced that 2011 will be “The Year of Penny,” and she starts things off by buying her dream condo. She’ll also be getting a new roommate when Alex moves in. Max may make the biggest change of all when he does something his friends never thought he’d do... get a steady job.
Called “the funniest show on TV” by Associated Press, “Happy Endings” is a raucous comedy about six dysfunctional, thirtysomething friends living in Chicago: Shop owner Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) and her ex-fiancé Dave (Zachary Knighton), an aspiring restaurateur who runs a food truck called “Steak Me Home Tonight”; crazy-in-love husband and wife duo Brad and Jane, who’s also Alex’s sister, (Damon Wayans Jr., Eliza Coupe); Max (Adam Pally), their perpetually underemployed gay friend; and singleton Penny (Casey Wilson), always in pursuit of, but never quite finding, the right guy.

“LAST MAN STANDING”
Tim Allen returns for a second season as the traditional “manly man,” Mike Baxter, whose mission it is to get men back to their rightful place in society. You can’t get manlier than Mike Baxter. Of course, he drives a pick-up truck and before being grounded from his company’s international photo shoots, Mike remembers the exciting adventures he had while traveling for work. He is the marketing director for The Outdoor Man, an iconic outdoor sporting goods store. He works there with his long-time boss and friend, Ed, and the somewhat sensitive Kyle, who considers Mike his mentor. When Ed put Mike in charge of the company’s webpage, Mike discovered that the Internet provides him with just the outlet he needs. He looks at it as a platform that gives him a voice to appeal to those who agree that manliness is under assault, and a pulpit for his opinions about feeling like the last real man in a woman’s world. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he’s the odd man out in a home that is dominated by women -- his wife, Vanessa, a geologist, and their three daughters: 14-year-old tomboy Eve, the outspoken Mandy, 18, and Kristin, a 21-year-old single mom living at home with her toddler son, Boyd, possibly Mike’s only ally.

“THE MIDDLE”
Two-time Emmy winner Patricia Heaton stars in this warm and witty single-camera comedy about raising a family and lowering your expectations. Middle-aged, middle class and living in the middle of the country in Orson, Indiana, Frankie Heck is a harried wife and working mother of three who uses her wry wit and sense of humor in an attempt to get her family through each day intact. Her work life’s no easier as she struggles day to day as the least successful sales woman at the town’s only surviving car dealer. Frankie’s unflappable husband, Mike, is manager at the local quarry and her sardonic partner in the daily grind that is raising their average – yes, most definitely average – family.
Between juggling shifts and picking up fast food dinners eaten in front of the TV, Frankie and Mike raise their kids with love, humor and solid Midwestern practicality. Axl, the oldest, is a jock slacker who eats them out of house and home and walks around the house in his underwear. Then there’s Sue, their extraordinarily ordinary teen daughter, who fails at just about everything she tries with great gusto. This year she entered high school and continues to not only navigate the raging waters of school life but co-exist with Axl, who is not too thrilled with his little sister being at the same school. And last is Brick, their quirky fourth-grader, who reads constantly, whispers to himself and unapologetically marches to the beat of his own drummer. But through all the madness shines a loving family, and together, the Hecks are putting THE MIDDLE on the map.
“The Middle” stars Patricia Heaton as Frankie, Neil Flynn as Mike, Charlie McDermott as Axl, Eden Sher as Sue and Atticus Shaffer as Brick.
“The Middle” was created and is executive produced by Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline. The series is from Warner Bros. Television.

“SHARK TANK”
“Shark Tank,” the hit show that gives budding entrepreneurs the chance to make their dreams come true, has critics calling the business-themed show “one of the best reality shows out there” and “Econ 101 for tough times.” The critically-acclaimed show is up sharply over its prior season average, growing by 15% in Total Viewers and 20% in young adults. In its strongest season ever, teens made “Shark Tank” their top network viewing choice on Friday nights and the broad-appealing series led its network rivals in its 8:00 p.m. time slot. The Sharks -- tough, self-made, multi-millionaire tycoons -- will be back for a fourth season, continuing their search to invest in the best products and businesses that America has to offer. In the process, they may part with their own hard-earned cash and give innovative entrepreneurs the funding they desperately need to jumpstart their business ideas. But the Sharks have a goal, too -- to get a return on their investment and own a piece of the next big business idea. When the Sharks hear a great idea, they’re ready to fight each other for a piece of it; and when more than one of them wants to sink their teeth into a top-notch idea, a war between them can erupt. The Sharks are: billionaire Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of HDNet and outspoken owner of the 2011 NBA championship Dallas Mavericks; real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran; “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner; technology innovator Robert Herjavec; fashion and branding expert Daymond John and venture capitalist Kevin O’Leary. Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill and Phil Gurin are the executive producers of “Shark Tank,” based on the Japanese “Dragons’ Den” format created by Nippon Television Network Corporation. In “Celebrity Wife Swap,” the mothers in two celebrity families also switch lifestyles, children and homes (but not bedrooms), and embark on a journey like no other. They are given the chance to see how another celebrity raises children and deals with life in the spotlight, while allowing both couples the opportunity to re-discover why they love each other and why they decided to get together in the first place. Brent88 05-15-2012, 12:40 AM Wow that's a great schedule if it happens. Love it.
factsoflife 05-15-2012, 12:43 AM I really hope they don't move Revenge to Sunday's at 10pm. The show is just too new to survive a move like that. It really needs another season to prove itself and show it's here for the long haul. And if it does move anywhere, it should be Thursdays at 10, following Grey's Anatomy, which demographically would be a good fit.
I do think Scandal could do well on Sunday's and would be a great fit for the 10pm Sunday slot.
USATVFAN 05-15-2012, 01:06 AM I really love that Schedule! Best one so far if it is official, I really hope it is the official schedule because It's look Great! I do like the Three Hour comedy Block on Wednesday. And Thursday night look like it's about to get even tougher. I guess we will see but I do hope that is the Final/Official schedule for the fall because I like it. NBC should take notes!
Family Ties Forever! 05-15-2012, 04:40 AM For the leaked schedule I don't see Private Practice listed. I hope that doesn't mean they changed their minds and cancelled it. Perhaps it can come back at a mid-season or something. I hope the offical schedule will have Privete Practice listed.
Brent88 05-15-2012, 11:38 AM I'll wait for Pavanbadal to post it, but the official schedule highlights, Revenge goes to Sunday at 9, Comedy block at 9 on Tuesday instead of 8, PP at 10, and LMS held back til November and on Friday. Castle stays, Grey's/Scandal stay together.
Zedman2 05-15-2012, 11:44 AM Many stating the announced schedule is good, but I find it strange in a few places. Placing their oldest demographic show as a leadin to their youngest skewing shows (Happy Ending/Don't Trust the B..)? What's up with that?
What Would You Do taking over 20/20? If anything WWYD should be airing as specials only. It's tires quickly. Shark Tank moving from 8 to 9 in November. Why?
Personally, I see Private Practice crumbling in the fall. It is a leadin dependant show and the comedies can't deliver the audience size that PP has been lucky to have been getting from Grey's and DWTS.
In regards to "How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)", if anything needs a title change, this is it. People have short attention spans as it is, trying to remember this mouthful is expecting to much. ;)

I see ABC has already made a change in the fall schedule, WWYD? is taking the break in November not 20/20.

Zedman2 05-15-2012, 12:57 PM ABC Orders Third Season of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition
Talk about a weighty vote of confidence: The second season of ABC's summer series Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition doesn't launch until June 3, but ABC has already given the show a third-season pickup (15 two-hour episodes) to air in summer 2013... http://www.tvguide.com/News/ABC-Extreme-Makeover-Weight-Loss-1047528.aspx
icecream 05-15-2012, 01:24 PM I wasn't expecting so many good shows on Fridays this year. The leaked schedule was better, I would have watched Malibu Country after Raising Hope (now it's on against Touch). I also would have been more likely to try Nashville after Once Upon a Time.
EmoJoe 05-15-2012, 05:21 PM Happy Endings against New Girl?! Why must you do this to me, ABC?
Tuesdays from 9-10 are going to have three comedy blocks all facing head-to-head. That's going to be...interesting.
Mr. Television 05-15-2012, 06:31 PM It's a risky schedule but of the 3 networks so far. I think this one is the best. I hope it doesn't kill revenge though but it does give it a chance to expand it's audience. Of the new shows I'l probably give Nashville, 666 Park Avenue, Malibu Country & The Neighbors a chance,

Some great applause for most at upfront. The Neighbors is silly but looks very funny. Will see all 10 pilots soon.
tbswatcher 05-15-2012, 07:25 PM I'm glad to see The Middle and Modern Family return for another season at 8 and 9. Of course if I was ABC I would do this for a Wednesday comedy block:
8pm The Middle
8:30pm Last Man Standing
9pm Modern Family
9:30pm Malibu Country
In the end ABC made a good decision with Friday nights. It is nice to see networks trying with Friday nights again though.
Pavan 05-15-2012, 07:27 PM Don't think that is a good idea, tbswatcher. Last Man and Malibu paired together is a great match. They are not the same tone as the Wednesday family comedies.
Zedman2 05-15-2012, 07:30 PM Some cool notes: Mistresses comes to Mondays with The Bachelor franchise in mid-season, likely May.
Would that not make it a summer series for 2013 if it premieres next May?
Pavan 05-15-2012, 07:38 PM It is a little contradicting what they said. On the press call, they said May. At upfront they said with The Bachelor in mid-season. So all I got out of it for sure is...Mondays at 10. But after The Bachelor or Bachelorette?
EmoJoe 05-15-2012, 08:16 PM All of those new comedies look awful. No wonder ABC was supposedly not very interested in their comedy pilots this year. I don't see The Neighbors lasting to mid-season and Family Tools/How to Live With Your Parents... are going to be forced to survive on their own and don't look interesting enough to do so. Malibu County looks like a good fit with Last Man Standing though, that's the only one I can see being a hit. Good thing ABC has strong returning comedies...
USATVFAN 05-15-2012, 08:49 PM I think ABC has some Good Pilots this year, 7 out of 10 of them seem pretty Good and interesting! I can not wait to watch a lot of them including How to live with Parents and Malibu County. One thing I notice about the Four networks is that they did not pick up a lot of New sitcoms Pilots/Shows this year and are mostly relying on their more current(From the 2011-2012 Season) ones instead which I think is smart in the short term(1-2 seasons) but in the Long Run you are going to have to get some New fresher Sitcoms on the Schedule eventually.
benjamoon 05-15-2012, 08:55 PM The new dramas look great in the clips but the comedies... not so much. Especially The Neighbors, yuck. I can't imagine that the Judy Greer or Mandy Moore pilots were worse than that.
Also I liked the leaked schedule much more than the actual schedule. They really should have put Nashville (or at least a new show) after Dancing with the Stars (Mon) especially with NBC choosing not to put Smash there and it being an all star edition of DWTS that should do better than this spring. Missed opportunity there.

That's true for ABC and CBS but not with FOX and NBC. FOX has 3 new comedy pilots and NBC has 7. The networks are clearly going lighter on dramas because comedy has re-surged as the dominant genre but NBC still has 4 or 5 I believe and ABC has 4.
Mr. Television 05-15-2012, 10:48 PM The new dramas look great in the clips but the comedies... not so much. Especially The Neighbors, yuck. I can't imagine that the Judy Greer or Mandy Moore pilots were worse than that.

I think that's why ABC didn't do it. Revolutuion sounds like NBC's best show and ABC probably figures it's better to have a show like Castle ( with it's own fans) compete against it then something new.
Brent88 05-15-2012, 11:07 PM The Neighbors clip was beyond words. THAT was the best sitcom pilot ABC had?
yankeesrj12 05-15-2012, 11:32 PM The Neighbors looks AWFUL!
lacczko 05-16-2012, 11:43 AM It is a little contradicting what they said. On the press call, they said May. At upfront they said with The Bachelor in mid-season. So all I got out of it for sure is...Mondays at 10. But after The Bachelor or Bachelorette?
I hope Mistresses comes beetween of the two DWTS circle.
icecream 05-16-2012, 01:16 PM Alien shows can be good if done well (Mork & Mindy, ALF, 3rd Rock from the Sun). But The Neighbors doesn't look like it's on that level. Malibu Country should have gone on Wednesday instead. The Family Trap and The Manzanis would have been better pickups. ABC did this last year also when they could have had Smothered and Other People's Kids but ended up with Working It and Man Up. Counter Culture sounded good but one of the stars had to drop out.
EmoJoe 05-16-2012, 01:33 PM Malibu County would NOT fit on Wednesday. Multi cams + single cams = doesn't work. See: Better With You.
icecream 05-16-2012, 01:44 PM Malibu County would NOT fit on Wednesday. Multi cams + single cams = doesn't work. See: Better With You.I would have much rather seen Malibu County paired with The Middle than Suburgatory. I was really disappointed in the Suburgatory pilot, it has nothing in common with The Middle. I also preferred Better With You to Suburgatory.
EmoJoe 05-16-2012, 02:10 PM Whether or not you preferred it, it just wouldn't work, and Suburgatory is a much better fit with The Middle than either of those shows.
ABC: Why we're pitting "New Girl" vs. "Happy Endings" (http://www.deadline.com/2012/05/mistresses-now-firmly-summer-bound-why-happy-endings-is-moving-more/)
"I do think there is room on the networks for big ratings," ABC president Paul Lee says of "New Girl's" new Tuesday timeslot. PLUS: Can ABC's new schedule (http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan-watching/posts/abcs-2012-13-schedule-revenge-to-sunday-happy-endings-and-apt-23-to-tuesday) lift it out of 4th place?
ABC's Tim Allen/Reba McEntire Friday comedy block looks like "TGIF" (http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/reba-mcentire-and-tim-allen-help-abc-bring-back-tgif-like-friday-night-block.html)
The new comedy block, however, won't be called "TGIF," after the long-running family-friendly comedy block.
USATVFAN 05-16-2012, 05:28 PM Funny, I thought NBC was in Fourth?
EmoJoe 05-16-2012, 05:31 PM Hmm I'm glad ABC seems to be fully supportive of Happy Endings but I'm a little worried. I love the show and don't want it to get crushed.
canuck75 05-16-2012, 06:09 PM Kimmel killed it again at upfront! Recap soon. Some cool notes: Mistresses comes to Mondays with The Bachelor franchise in mid-season, likely May.
I really want Alyssa to have a huge hit & become a TV mega star, so I am disappointed with the news that Mistresses likely won't premiere until next May. Unlike cable, network shows airing in the summer aren't usually well respected, so it appears like Mistresses will fall into that category, similar to ABC's other summer drama series-"Rookie Blue".
Do you know if there is even the slightest chance that ABC might move up "Mistresses" premiere to earlier in the 2012-13 season? I really hope so, since network history has shown that even if Mistresses is considered a success with a summer run, it likely won't become more than a summer series and join the more prestigious fall/winter schedule. Am I right on this, or have there been shows(non-reality) that went from a network's summer schedule to it's fall/winter schedule?
Finally, would love to know what you're hearing from other TV people about Mistresses & Alyssa's role in it.
Thanks. It'll be a very long 12 months, if that is how long I have to wait to see Mistresses.
Mr. Television 05-16-2012, 06:11 PM Funny, I thought NBC was in Fourth?
NBC is technically in 3rd place but only because they aired The Super Bowl.
Pavan 05-16-2012, 07:17 PM Funny, I thought NBC was in Fourth?
It's basically a tie right now for 3rd as Super Bowl has inflated NBC. If ABC still passes NBC for third by Wednesday, wow, that is not good for NBC with the highest rated program in TV history inflating it.

Absolutely it could air before May. Many things still can happen until now and next mid-season. I'll have the pilot in the next week or so (along with other critics), so can't wait to see it. No one really has seen it right now except for the test audience.
There really hasn't been many summer scripted series, so none that I can think of that transitioned to fall/mid-season. Rookie Blue is big for ABC in summer.
Pavan 05-20-2012, 01:45 PM Beginning to watch pilots, first watched: Mistresses. It doesn't debut until 2013 (hopefully earlier than May). It is addicting, delicious & naughty! As always, Alyssa Milano is great to watch and easy on the eyes, as usual! Great stories to start the show off. And Yunjin Kim's story is excellent!
That's all I can say for now, as we can't review yet. We'll have little blurbs from the other 9 pilots here soon.

USATVFAN 05-20-2012, 03:35 PM Moving Revenge to Sunday nights is a bad move. No one watches TV on Sunday nights.:thumbsdow
Not True. Lot of peoples watch TV on Sunday Nights. Friday and Saturday is when no one is watching. 60 Minutes has been getting more then 10 Million Viewers on Sunday over the last 6 Months. Maybe Sunday don't get the Ratings of Monday-Wednesday but it's still has a lot of peoples watching especially during Football season. It's get more peoples and higher rated then Friday and Saturday but behind the other three Nights that I mentioned.
mtlguy 05-20-2012, 03:41 PM Moving Revenge to Sunday nights is a bad move. No one watches TV on Sunday nights.:thumbsdow
Actually I read somewhere last week that Sunday is the night with the most people watching TV.
EmoJoe 05-20-2012, 03:47 PM Yeah Sunday is a huge night for TV...
Mr. Television 05-20-2012, 04:27 PM It's also huge for cable tv...The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Dexter etc.
factsoflife 05-20-2012, 05:45 PM Yeah Sunday is a huge night for TV...
Sunday's is a great night for TV! My favorite show, "The Good Wife" is on Sunday.
ryan423 05-20-2012, 08:45 PM Revenge will give me something good to watch on Sunday nights. No complaints! Wednesdays were getting busy. Now with the surplus of comedies next season primarily on Tuesdays, that'll be the busiest night. Thank goodness for DVR!
Pavan 05-20-2012, 10:04 PM Revenge is going to one of the best nights on TV where live viewing is. Plus it is moving to 9pm. And the historic Desperate Housewives timeslot. I think Revenge will be breaking out big time in season two, especially after Once Upon a Time.
canuck75 05-21-2012, 12:03 AM Beginning to watch pilots, first watched: Mistresses.
I am sorry for the bombardment of questions regarding Alyssa and Mistresses, but I am just craving any info I can get on both.
I know the show is based on the BBC series "Mistresses" which I have never seen. Do you know if the ABC series will be identical to the BBC series, just rewritten for the North American audience? Or is the ABC series just using the BBC series as a starting premise, but the actual story lines will all be original?
Also, before watching the pilot did you have a good idea of what to expect or were you completely in the dark about what the story arcs would be? if the latter can you hint at something that you were surprised by or caught you off guard?
Finally, I wasn't a huge fan of DH and felt that ABC's editing of the Mistresses trailer made it seem like the same show with different actresses. I hope that Mistresses isn't DH 2, that reviews don't imply that & future trailers/teasers emphasize Mistresses differences.
Thanks for being so generous in your replies to my constant questions. Please let me know if I've become a nuisance.

I wouldn't get too excited about Mistresses. From the trailers I've seen it doesn't look like a keeper. I really wish ABC had gone with Marc Cherry's "Devious Maids" instead.

8:00 PM - 11:00 PM The 46th Annual CMA Awards
icecream 05-31-2012, 12:03 PM I bet Happy Endings crashes just like Cougar Town did when moved away from Modern Family. Last Man Standing would have been a better choice for Tuesdays at 9:00, it's more compatible with DWTS and goes after a different audience than New Girl.

I think Last Man Standing and Malibu Country are in the same boat Body of Proof was two seasons back (fall 2010). ABC said it would premiere on Fridays in November, but it never did. When Happy Endings and Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23 bomb, I'm sure Last Man Standing and Malibu Country will move right in.
Cyrax 07-15-2012, 09:06 AM Any clue when ABC is announcing the Fall premiere dates? Every other network has done it already!
Pavan 07-15-2012, 12:49 PM Pretty soon.
I have these dates so far:
Fridays
Shark Tank and What Would You Do? will have their season premieres on Friday, Sept. 14. Last Man Standing will then have its season premiere (likely two episodes) on Friday, Oct. 26 leading into the new time period debut for Shark Tank. Then, following the night of the CMA Awards, Malibu Country will launch on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8:30pm.
yankeesrj12 07-15-2012, 01:12 PM I'm hoping ABC decides to leave Shark Tank at 8pm instead of moving it for the two comedies. Why mess with success?
Pavan 07-15-2012, 03:00 PM More chance of higher ratings at 9pm, especially in late fall/winter. Shark Tank could go over a 2 at 9.
icecream 07-15-2012, 08:57 PM I'm hoping ABC decides to leave Shark Tank at 8pm instead of moving it for the two comedies. Why mess with success?I hope so too. The comedies should air at 9:00, or be rescheduled for Tuesdays at 9:00 when Happy Endings/Apartment 23 bomb there. That way I can see LMS/Malibu and Touch without them being timeslot rivals.

I don't see any reason why Happy Endings or Apt. 23 will bomb, both have their followings and have seen some critical support. Happy Endings in particular is very popular at ABC and with critics. I think ABC has realistic expectations of what these shows will do viewership wise and will allow them time to grow.

Apartment 23 was below a 2.0 demo WITH Modern Family as a lead in. Without it, it'll struggle to break a 1.3 demo.

Cougar Town collapsed without a stable lead in, and I'm sure Apartment 23 won't do any better. Happy Endings may do fine since it has Dancing with the Stars, but once again, a 2.0 may be hard to get for the show. I see ABC making quick changes with these two comedies.
Mr. Television 07-16-2012, 01:40 PM I like Apartment 23 but I don't think it'll survive in that timeslot.

Trust me,
anyone who knows me on here knows I never pick a fight, so don't take this as me picking one now, but...
are you really under the impression that the show that aired after LMS was the reason for its ratings collapse? You think people saw that CT was airing at 8:30 and said, "hey, forget about that show I love at 8:00 because there's no way I can just change the channel in a half hour's time"? That's ludicrous. People weren't enjoying what they were getting from Tim Allen and company or they liked something else on at 8 just a bit more. I'm a big fan of CT, but I know the former is likely the reason for its ratings collapse.
factsoflife 07-19-2012, 07:14 PM Cougar Town was the victim of poor scheduling, poor promotion and the obvious fact that ABC had given up on it and didn't do anything to help it.

I guess it was just a coincidence that LMS's ratings went down the minute Cougar Town was put on the schedule. After DWTS went on it's winter break, LMS was practically the only show holding up the Tuesday night lineup. The rerun ratings that aired there were doing better. LMS was a half hour show. When you watch that live you can't change the channel to another network when all that's on are hour shows. CG had no buisiness being in that slot. I don't think ABC thought the show would do anything and was caught off guard when it did. They did give it 2 extra episodes so they must have liked what the ratings were at the time. They should have programed another family comedy after it and I don't mean Man Up. BTW I never watched the show live as I watched NCIS. I'm just talking about the ones that do.
Mr. Television 07-19-2012, 07:40 PM Cougar Town was the victim of poor scheduling, poor promotion and the obvious fact that ABC had given up on it and didn't do anything to help it.
I do think that's true, at least for last season. I don't know if it would have worked but it would have been better if ABC put it on Wednesdays at 10 while Revenge was in repeats.
EmoJoe 07-20-2012, 04:26 AM Apartment 23 was below a 2.0 demo WITH Modern Family as a lead in. Without it, it'll struggle to break a 1.3 demo.
Apartment 23 actually did fairly well without the Modern Family lead-in. So...I really don't see why it will suddenly collapse to a 1.3. I mean, damn. Even NBC would frown at those numbers.
I am slightly worried about the Happy Endings/Apartment 23 pairing, especially going against New Girl, but I'm hoping DWTS can keep their numbers in the decent range. I really don't see the total and utter collapse some people here are apparently seeing for them.
You're right, but it certainly isn't fair to say it had a stable or really all that successful of a lead in.
Not to mention they were the most wildly incompatible pairing on all of television (an honor that will go to Whitney and Community this year).

Cougar Town also did well with repeats of Modern Family as a lead in, and it collapsed to as low as a 1.3 demo. Apartment 23 had only SEVEN episodes in its first season, and all of a sudden ABC thinks it'll work on a new night. I just don't see it happening.

ABC is probably banking on Happy Endings (an emerging popular series with critical raves) to provide a nice lead-in since they have an compatible audience.
I'm thinking New Girl may be the one that sheds it's numbers, it was losing viewers all season long. And The Mindy Show looks to be unproven at best.
Janice 07-22-2012, 06:44 PM I just LOVE the new show, Final Witness. It's very well done. Did anyone see the one where the guy killed his wife and three small children? It was just so sad. Pavan, is this show on the Fall schedule? We watch it ON DEMAND.

Final Witness is a really good show. That episode had to be the saddest one yet. Just what went through that psycho's mind?!
The ratings aren't that great, but they're definitely better than dud The Glass House, which has ABC's number one summer series as a lead in. Too bad ABC never gave Final Witness a solid lead in.

Thanks so much for the info. Why that creep couldn't just leave his family is beyond me. Egomaniac. Her sisters were heartbroken. One of them, that was the face of beyond the pale grief; she'll never be the same.
The black widow marrying those poor cops was sad too. They're all sad. I only watch true crime. On the Case with Paula Zahn, Dead or Alive, Snapped, The First 48, Buried Secrets (Stolen Voices), those types of shows. Never one for the CSI shows, etc.

Final Witness is an ABC News summer series. I think it has done OK for them so they could bring it back next summer. That and NY Med are well produced (and critically acclaimed) ABC News series.

I've seen mixed reviews for Final Witness, but haven't bothered looking for any for NY Med. My hope is that ABC gives Final Witness another try next summer. The show can't be that expensive to produce, so hopefully the numbers line up in its favor.

I think that is possible because they are going to test it in late August for at least 3 weeks in repeats. I like the move. The Neighbors fits in tone with The Middle and is more family friendly.

Thanks Pav. I'd love to see more of the show, after summer, but just my luck. I know my true crime shows, and Final Witness is very well done. Creative touch at the end when the actor holds a photo of the victim that they played in the show.

I like that. It gives a better lead in to Nashville too.
benjamoon 07-23-2012, 11:06 PM Switching The Neighbors and Suburgatory is a step in the right direction and most likely good for Suburgatory and def good for Nashville. As for The Neighbors, it's just a step off the schedule which will certainly happen before the calendar turns to 2013 anyway :)
ryan423 07-23-2012, 11:32 PM Yep. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Whether "The Neighbors" makes it or not (it won't), 9:30 is not the slot to launch a new comedy, 8:30 is. It launched "The Middle" on its own, and launched "Suburgatory" last season. In three seasons, "Cougar Town," "Mr Sunshine," "Happy Endings" and "Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23" have failed to catch the proper steam out of "Modern Family." Moving "Suburgatory" to 9:30 is the best move they can make. Now all that's left is to switch out "The Neighbors" with midseason entry, "How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life." The latter is a much, much better show that has potential. Pair "The Neighbors" with the equally poor "Family Tools" Tuesdays at 8 and let them die peacefully.
8:00pm - The Middle
8:30pm - How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life
9:00pm - Modern Family
9:30pm - Suburgatory
10:00pm - Nashville
Now just shorten "How to Live's" title, or change it completely. It's not too late if its being saved for November.
EmoJoe 07-24-2012, 01:43 AM Cougar Town also did well with repeats of Modern Family as a lead in, and it collapsed to as low as a 1.3 demo. Apartment 23 had only SEVEN episodes in its first season, and all of a sudden ABC thinks it'll work on a new night. I just don't see it happening.
Cougar Town was also held until February, had pretty much zero promotion and was paired with a show it had absolutely nothing in common with. Let's not pretend the timeslot move was the only thing that caused Cougar Town to collapse. Apartment 23 has a much more compatible lead-in, hopefully will have more promotion and is returning right away in the fall.
Suburgatory's a great fit for the 9:30 slot. It's still a family comedy so it'll go well with Happy Endings but is a little edgier which works well with the later time. Plus The Neighbors is clearly going to be absolute crap so why waste the cushiest timeslot on the network for it?

Cougar Town also had to deal with a strong bias against the show due to it's title. Nobody wanted to watch a show called Cougar Town because of what they thought it would be about. Truthfully though it was and is a hilarious and well done series.
Apt. 23 has a similar issue with the B word in its title. But I think it will show some growth as it has a compatible lead-in.

Oct. 16 is a Presidential Debate, so that's why it is Oct. 23. Not sure what they are running Oct. 2 and 9 in the slot yet. The ABC dates are pretty smart....why? Check the blog tomorrow.
Mr. Television 07-26-2012, 08:03 PM These Presidential debates are a pain. lol I'll have to schedule around them.

It'll be interesting to read as I thoroughly disagree.
EmoJoe 07-27-2012, 04:16 AM I just don't get why networks can't premiere all of their shows around the same time. What's the need of premiering in 3 different months?
Is New Girl going to be on a baseball hiatus this year? If so, it looks like Happy Endings and Apartment 23 might be premiering on a New Girl-less week. As much as I hate FOX's stupid baseball breaks, this could mean good things for those shows.
icecream 07-27-2012, 12:44 PM After reading the blog it would be pointless to move Dancing with the Stars results to Wednesday on October 16/17. They could still air in their normal Tuesday slot since the debate doesn't start until 9:00. No need to have another recap bump it and preempt The Middle.

Well this year it is a little tough. You have four debates, the Election and Fox has the World Series. I hope this explains ABC a bit:

That is just speculation on my part, but I think they would do that since they are premiering The Middle with two episodes. And there is no CMA's on Wednesday this year, so they will have an extra episode in sweep, too. Or maybe not since DWTS Results will for sure have to air on Wed, Nov. 7 due to the Election on Nov. 6. So perhaps The Middle is going to air Oct. 17.

Heckles101 07-29-2012, 05:28 PM So if I'm following correctly, Scandal will air 2 eps, then preempted on Oct. 11 for the Presidential debate, air another 2 episodes, then preempted on Nov. 1 for the CMAs, then air another 2 eps and preempted on Nov. 22 for Thanksgiving? Eesh what a mess! I hope this doesn't hurt the show.

The special showcases the new fall Primetime lineup, including new late news lead-ins 666 Park Avenue and Nashville and our new Wednesday comedy, The Neighbors. The special will also feature the new Shawn Ryan drama Last Resort. The special will be hosted by The Chew's Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly and Daphne Oz.
Look for it starting Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012!
Pavan, can you confirm whether this special is 30 minutes (norm for fall previews) or 60 minutes (normal length of 'The Chew')? ABC has a large number of fall programs (4 sitcoms, 3 dramas), so I could see it being an hour in length, especially if there's cooking involved.
The one concern I have is whether affiliates that haven't cleared 'The Chew' will air this preview. Does anybody know whether 'The Chew' has 100% clearances across the ABC network?
If it is an hour in length, I wonder whether ABC might give it a daytime network broadcast after the affiliates have had their window.

Any idea what episodes of Revenge will be airing and why they aren't airing one at 7pm like they are with OUAT? I must say, I think I'm more eager for Revenge's return than any other show or new show this season. Might have to buy season one on iTunes and rewatch to hold me over till season 2.
Pavan 08-05-2012, 12:18 AM No episode info yet. Revenge at 7pm would be weird. Too early.
yankeesrj12 08-05-2012, 12:40 PM Great to see Revenge get a mini-marathon. I watched all 22 episodes online back in late-May, and it was awesome! It is probably one of the best network dramas in the past few seasons. Anyways, it's nice to finally watch an episode on television.
Pavan 08-05-2012, 01:21 PM I think it will explode on Sunday nights.
yankeesrj12 08-05-2012, 03:42 PM I think it will explode on Sunday nights.
Hmmm, I'm not quite sure. I think it'll be in the upper 2's, which is good, considering the show was in the lower-mid 2's at the end of the season. It'd be great for it to go over a 3.0 demo, but I'll remain cautiously optimistic for the time being.
ryan423 08-06-2012, 12:27 PM Hmmm, I'm not quite sure. I think it'll be in the upper 2's, which is good, considering the show was in the lower-mid 2's at the end of the season. It'd be great for it to go over a 3.0 demo, but I'll remain cautiously optimistic for the time being.
If OUAT is pulling mid-3s, and out of that, Revenge can pull high-2s to low-3s, I think it'll meet expectations. Out of Revenge, ABC has to be hoping 666 pulls mid-to-high 2s.
Pavan 08-06-2012, 01:35 PM The 8-11pm Sunday night line-up is fantastic and all shows fit each other well, I think.

yankeesrj12 10-31-2012, 02:21 PM Earlier this year I was ripped apart for saying Apartment 23 would fall to a 1.3 demo without the solid lead in of Modern Family. It only took two weeks, but it's already below that awful number with a minuscule 1.2 demo. Excuses can be made that Hurricane Sandy has to do with the drop, but everything else was fairly stable (or even up) from last week. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the rest of its episodes.

icecream 11-09-2012, 05:23 PM I think it's a big mistake to have Nightline and Jimmy Kimmel switch places. Kimmel always has a steep drop from Nightline, it's like they're trying to kill Nightline and do worse at 11:35.

Heckles101 11-15-2012, 01:24 PM I wonder if ABC's close to announcing their midseason schedule. They announced it on Nov. 18 last year. They really need to shake things up because their #s are sucky this year. I would suggest moving Nashville to Sundays, Shark Tank to Thursdays, Suburgatory back to its earlier timeslot and The Neighbors to Fridays along with launching Family Tools to make for a 2hr TGIF comedy block.
Here is my proposed schedule:
Mondays
8pm The Bachelor/DWtS
10pm Castle
Tuesdays
8pm Happy Endings
8:30pm Apt. 23
9pm Red Widow/DWtS Results
10pm Private Practice/Body of Proof
Wednesdays
8pm The Middle
8:30pm Suburgatory
9pm Modern Family
9:30pm How to Live with Your Parents
10pm Last Hour
Thursdays
8pm Shark Tank
9pm Grey's Anatomy
10pm Scandal
Fridays
8pm Last Man Standing
8:30pm The Neighbors
9pm Malibu Country
9:30pm Family Tools
10pm 20/20
Sundays
7pm America's Funniest Home Videos
8pm Once Upon a Time
9pm Revenge
10pm Nashville
I know Happy Endings and Apt. 23 are doing horribly and Scandal, while steady, is pulling pretty mediocre #s after Grey's but there's only so much you can change before confusing and alienating viewers.
ETA: Happy Endings and Apt. 23 are more mature but I switched them with Red Widow because they can't possibly do worse than they're doing now and might perhaps might actually improve when not having to compete with FOX and NBC's higher rated comedies.

The ratings weren't good for either show. I watched both and got bored after three episodes.
Pavan 11-16-2012, 08:10 PM Now we have an idea of what is not coming back from the fall, this is what I think ABC mid-season should look like:
Mondays
8:00PM The Bachelor / Dancing with the Stars
10:00PM Castle
Tuesdays
8:00PM Celebrity Splash / Dancing with the Stars: The Results
9:00PM Shark Tank
10:00PM Zero Hour (beginning in Feb)
-I could see them airing Shark Tank at 8 and Celeb Splash (or The Taste) at 9 (and in March DWTS Results at 9), but I prefer it the way I have it scheduled.
Wednesdays
8:00PM The Middle
8:30PM How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)
9:00PM Modern Family
9:30PM Suburgatory
10:00PM Nashville (Jan); Body of Proof (Feb-May)
[Happy Endings/Apt. 23 can fill in at 9:30 or even the 10pm hour from time to time.]
Thursdays
8:00PM The Taste / Celebrity Wife Swap
9:00PM Grey's Anatomy
10:00PM Scandal
[Last Resort has 3 episodes left to air in 2013, but I would want The Taste to launch quickly like Jan. 3.)
Fridays
8:00PM Last Man Standing
8:30PM Malibu Country
9:00PM The Neighbors (Jan-Feb) / Primetime Nightline (Mar-May)
9:30PM The Family Tools (Jan-Feb) / Primetime Nightline (Mar-May)
10:00PM 20/20
Sundays
7:00PM AFV
8:00PM Once Upon a Time
9:00PM Revenge
10:00PM Nashville (beginning in mid-Feb)
[666 Park Ave. will have 4 episodes left to air in 2013]
Not scheduled: Red Widow, What Would You?
Keeping Mistresses for summer because I think it will do better with The Bachelorette. Red Widow could be a summer or early May option.
EmoJoe 11-17-2012, 12:07 AM Randomly slotting in Happy Endings and Apartment 23 post-Modern Family doesn't make much sense to me. The schedule would be way too erratic and would probably bring down both of them along with Suburgatory. I think they should either shift the schedule back to where it was a year ago (Suburgatory at 8:30/HE at 9:30) or go for 3-hour comedy on Wednesdays and move Nashville to Sundays. 10 PM comedy is hard but it can't do any worse than what they're doing on Tuesdays and I think if they put Happy Endings at 10 it would actually benefit from the higher and more compatible Suburgatory lead-in as opposed to the aging and mediocre-rated DWTS.
I wish ABC had just left Happy Endings alone. It was doing really well in the slot. It actually was doing better than Suburgatory is now which is strange to me.

Pavan, episode counts for Private Practice need correcting as the October 30 episode was pre-empted for the 20/20 special on Hurricane Sandy.
Pavan 11-17-2012, 01:32 PM You're right. Fixed it, thanks. So Private Practice will have 3 episodes in 2013 to air rather than 2. It is all-new through Dec. 18 in 2012 with a preemption Nov. 27.
EmoJoe: I would love to see Happy Endings/Apt. 23 Wednesdays at 10 in January. Every time I call for it, it never happens, so I stopped doing it. So maybe it will happen now, lol.
icecream 11-17-2012, 05:58 PM Last Man Standing and Malibu Country keep dropping. I'm not surprised, neither of them are that great. I'm sticking with MC because I like Reba and her daughter is cute, but it lacks the charm of her previous show and has gotten worse each episode. LMS was decent its first season (although never at Home Improvement's level) but they made a mistake trying to revamp the show for season 2.

Look for the promo tomorrow during AMA's.
Milkamplifier 11-18-2012, 05:55 AM I wonder what will happen to Sundays. How many more Hallmark movies will they do this season after 'Christmas with Holly'? I see they have another one called 'The Makeover' (with Julia Stiles) in production. Last year they aired one the last Sunday of January.
Since they didn't pick up an additional episode of 666 (like they did with Pan Am), they have 4 episodes left - will they air the finale of 666 on January 27 (following a Revenge repeat?) or leave it for February 10 (Superbowl is on Feb 3)?
If they move 'Nashville' or 'Scandal' to Sundays at 10, it would make sense to do it immediately from January (and burn off 666 on Saturdays, or in the summer). If they launch a new drama, it would make sense to wait till March and use the Academy Awards (Feb 24) to promote it.
Maybe they'll do another Hallmark movie on Jan 27 and leave that finale of 666 for Feb 10 and then do an Oscars special (or 20/20) on Feb 17 and launch a new drama on March 3 (like they did with G.C.B. last year). In which case, 'Nashville' and 'Scandal' might stay where they are.

There are typically three Hallmark Hall of Fame movies in a television season. Recently they have aired in November/December, January/February, and April. I don't know if ABC is airing three this season, but based off of previous information, I'd say it's three.

9:00 PM - 11:00 PM Back to the Beginning with Christiane Amanpour (R)
mtlguy 11-26-2012, 02:22 PM Now we have an idea of what is not coming back from the fall, this is what I think ABC mid-season should look like:
Mondays
8:00PM The Bachelor / Dancing with the Stars
10:00PM Castle
Tuesdays
8:00PM Celebrity Splash / Dancing with the Stars: The Results
9:00PM Shark Tank
10:00PM Zero Hour (beginning in Feb)
-I could see them airing Shark Tank at 8 and Celeb Splash (or The Taste) at 9 (and in March DWTS Results at 9), but I prefer it the way I have it scheduled.
Wednesdays
8:00PM The Middle
8:30PM How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)
9:00PM Modern Family
9:30PM Suburgatory
10:00PM Nashville (Jan); Body of Proof (Feb-May)
[Happy Endings/Apt. 23 can fill in at 9:30 or even the 10pm hour from time to time.]
Thursdays
8:00PM The Taste / Celebrity Wife Swap
9:00PM Grey's Anatomy
10:00PM Scandal
[Last Resort has 3 episodes left to air in 2013, but I would want The Taste to launch quickly like Jan. 3.)
Fridays
8:00PM Last Man Standing
8:30PM Malibu Country
9:00PM The Neighbors (Jan-Feb) / Primetime Nightline (Mar-May)
9:30PM The Family Tools (Jan-Feb) / Primetime Nightline (Mar-May)
10:00PM 20/20
Sundays
7:00PM AFV
8:00PM Once Upon a Time
9:00PM Revenge
10:00PM Nashville (beginning in mid-Feb)
[666 Park Ave. will have 4 episodes left to air in 2013]
Not scheduled: Red Widow, What Would You?
Keeping Mistresses for summer because I think it will do better with The Bachelorette. Red Widow could be a summer or early May option.
I like Nashville moving to Sundays, but I would have it at 9pm, it probably has more family viewers than Revenge and could grow with OUAT having lots of families watching. Then Revenge at 10pm. I find Revenge works better as a 10pm shows.
Monday should stay the same, but they have to look at options for next season as DWTS is going down too much every season, even with the All-Stars. Maybe move it somewhere else.
I like Shark Tank on Tuesday, but not at the expense of another hour of reality. Yes scripted shows have not work much for them here, but how many failure NBC had Monday at 10pm before the success of Revolution. They need to stick to an hour. Tuesday 10pm is really weak everywhere, except cable. But winter is not as crowded cable so it is time to push the biggest hope you have for a mid season show. Zero Hour looks great, if that is it, great.
Wednesdays are harder than you would think. Suburgatory I find is too late at 9:30. Yes they have tried 'adult' comedies at 9:30 to mild success, but it at least gave them some success with them without putting 3 against each other on Tuesdays. I have been against comedies at 10pm since I heard of it a few seasons back, but I think it is ABC's best option. 3 family comedies from 8-9:30 and the 3 adult comedies from 9:30 to 11. Happy Endings will die if it does not return to Wednesdays and that would be a shame.
I know that is too many changes to actually happen, but here is what I would do:
Sundays
7:00PM AFV
8:00PM Once Upon a Time
9:00PM Nashville
10:00PM Revenge / Red Widow (during Revenge break)
Mondays
8:00PM The Bachelor / Dancing with the Stars
10:00PM Castle
Tuesdays
8:00PM The Taste / DWTS results
9:00PM Shark Tank
10:00PM Zero Hour
Wednesdays
8:00PM The Middle
8:30PM Suburgatory
9:00PM Modern Family
9:30PM How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)
10:00PM Happy Endings
10:30PM Apt. 23
Thursdays
8:00PM Body of Proof
9:00PM Grey's Anatomy
10:00PM Scandal
Fridays
8:00PM Last Man Standing
8:30PM Malibu Country
9:00PM The Neighbors / Primetime Nightline (Mar-May)
9:30PM The Family Tools / Primetime Nightline (Mar-May)
10:00PM 20/20
I would leave Celebrity Wife Swap for Summer, along with Mistresses. If any of the new shows fall too much in the ratings, I would give Rookie Blue a run in season. I think Thursday at 8pm or Tuesday at 10pm would work.
I think this is a very competitive schedule, not too many fights between too similar program on other networks. ABC has to get great pilots if they don't want to stay were it will probably end this season, in 4th place. S.H.I.E.L.D could be big if done right. It has the Avengers brand on it and it could finally be the show to bring back male viewers to ABC which would make possible a whole lot of new options...

But this really isn't that far off from what you originally posted as what you would like to see happen http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showpost.php?p=4743492&postcount=167
What part don't you like? Personally, I would be surprised with comedies on Wednesday airing 10-11pm and I would prefer Body of Proof Thursday's at 8pm. I think it would do better in that timeslot, in the same way Bones succeeded in that hour when it aired thiere on FOX,
Pavan 12-03-2012, 08:53 PM Tuesdays and Wednesdays I would have different slots, like Shark Tank at 9 on Tuesdays.
yankeesrj12 12-03-2012, 10:34 PM I really don't see Nashville moving after only a few episodes. It is very rare nowadays to see a new show of any genre move halfway through its first season. I may be wrong, so if I am, someone please correct me.
ryan423 12-03-2012, 11:54 PM Tuesdays and Wednesdays I would have different slots, like Shark Tank at 9 on Tuesdays.
Pavan, if ABC's Tuesday situation doesn't get any better, think they'd ever consider moving The Middle to Tuesdays at 8 or 9? Maybe not this season, but next? I can't imagine Wednesdays doing all that much worse with something else at 8. Just look at how The Middle grew in season 2! I feel like a Middle/How to Live With Your Parents combo would have done quite well. Hey, maybe if they make that pairing Wednesdays in midseason and the latter's successful, HTLWYP can take the Wednesday at 8 slot next season. Just thinking ahead...
icecream 12-04-2012, 02:21 AM I think The Middle shares a lot of audience with NCIS so it shouldn't move to Tuesdays at 8:00.
Pavan 12-04-2012, 08:15 AM The Middle is perfect for Wednesdays at 8. I don't think it should be messed with. It is one of the most consistent shows on TV.
icecream 12-04-2012, 12:35 PM It looks like ABC has given up on Apartment 23. There were a few solo ads for Happy Endings this week, they had been advertised together before.
yankeesrj12 12-04-2012, 01:40 PM It looks like ABC has given up on Apartment 23. There were a few solo ads for Happy Endings this week, they had been advertised together before.
I never understood why ABC renewed Apartment 23. ABC should stop filming and air the remaining episodes on Saturday.
ryan423 12-04-2012, 02:48 PM Here's what I'm guessing:
Mondays
8:00PM The Bachelor / Dancing with the Stars
10:00PM Castle
Tuesdays
8:00PM Shark Tank
9:00PM Dancing with the Stars: The Results
10:00PM Zero Hour and/or Red Widow
Wednesdays
8:00PM The Middle
8:30PM How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)
9:00PM Modern Family
9:30PM Suburgatory
10:00PM Zero Hour and/or Red Widow
Thursdays
8:00PM Body of Proof / Wipeout (no need to waste Tuesdays at 10 on a likely cancelled drama… just place it in a slot you know you can't win)
9:00PM Grey's Anatomy
10:00PM Scandal
Fridays
8:00PM Last Man Standing
8:30PM Malibu Country
9:00PM The Neighbors (Jan-Feb) / Primetime Nightline (Mar-May)
9:30PM The Family Tools (Jan-Feb) / Primetime Nightline (Mar-May)
10:00PM 20/20
Sundays
7:00PM AFV
8:00PM Once Upon a Time
9:00PM Revenge
10:00PM Nashville
ABC won't let themselves suffer lower ratings at 10 than Nashville has been bringing with two comedies that would be DOA, but they would risk it with a newer series.

Midseason show descriptions are as follows:
NEW DRAMAS:
“RED WIDOW”
Marta Walraven seems to have an idyllic life. A stay-at-home mom in tony Marin County, just north of San Francisco, she is devoted to her three children and her husband. Behind this perfect façade, however, is a more complicated story: Evan, Marta’s husband, supports the family by exporting marijuana. Marta is familiar with the world of organized crime: her father, Andrei Petrov, and his loyal bodyguard, Luther, are Bratva – Russian gangsters – in San Francisco. It’s a world from which she and her sister Kat always wanted to escape, though they never quite did.
But when Evan is brutally murdered in their driveway, everything changes. Marta’s first concern is to protect her children – and yet when FBI Agent James Ramos promises Marta justice in exchange for her cooperation, she cannot go against the Bratva code. She refuses his help.
Slowly, the truth about her husband’s murder begins to emerge: Evan’s business partners – Marta’s scheming brother, Irwin Petrov, and their best friend, the hapless Mike Tomlin – were involved in the theft of millions of dollars of cocaine from the formidable international crime boss, Nicholae Schiller. Evan paid with his life, but as far as Schiller is concerned, his debt is not clear. It falls to Marta, as Evan’s widow, to navigate the criminal underworld in order to repay this debt – in whatever way Schiller sees fit.
Hounded by the FBI on the one hand and by Schiller on the other, while also trying to raise three grieving kids on her own, Marta discovers a tenacity she never knew she had. As she hunts for the truth about her husband’s death and struggles to keep her children safe, she’ll rely on her resourcefulness, determination and her Bratva DNA like never before. But just how far is Marta willing to go in order to beat her adversaries at their own deadly game?
“Red Widow” stars Radha Mitchell (“High Art,” “Pitch Black,” “Man on Fire”) as Marta Walraven, Sterling Beaumon (“Clue,”“Lost”) as Gabriel Walraven, Clifton Collins Jr. (“Traffic,” “Thief”) as FBI Agent James Ramos, Luke Goss (“Blade II,” “Hellboy II: The Golden Army”) as Luther, Suleka Mathew (“Hawthorne”) as Dina Tomlin, Erin Moriarty (“One Life to Live”) as Natalie Walraven, Jaime Ray Newman (“Drop Dead Diva”) as Kat Petrova, Jakob Salvati (“Crescendo,” “Little Boy”) as Boris Walraven, Lee Tergesen (“Army Wives”) as Mike Tomlin, Wil Traval (“Rescue Special Ops”) as Irwin Petrov, with Rade Serbedzija (“24”) as Andrei Petrov and Goran Visnjic (“ER”) as Nicholae Schiller.
Based on the Dutch series “Penoza,” “Red Widow” is executive-produced and written by Melissa Rosenberg (“Dexter,” “Twilight Saga” films) and executive-produced by Howard Klein (“The Office,” “Parks & Recreation”) and Alon Aranya. The series is produced by ABC Studios in association with Endemol Studios.
“ZERO HOUR”
As the publisher of a paranormal enthusiast magazine, Modern Skeptic, Hank Galliston has spent his career following clues, debunking myths and solving conspiracies. A confessed paranormal junkie, his motto is “logic is the compass.” But when his beautiful wife, Laila (Jacinda Barrett), is abducted from her antique clock shop, Hank gets pulled into one of the most compelling mysteries in human history, stretching around the world and back centuries.
Contained in one of his wife’s clocks is a treasure map, and what it leads to could be cataclysmic. Now it’s up to Hank to decipher the symbols and unlock the secrets of the map, while ensuring the answers don’t fall into the wrong hands – a man they call White Vincent (Michael Nyqvist). With his two young associates, Rachel (Addison Timlin) and Arron (Scott Michael Foster), in tow, along with Becca Riley, a sexy FBI agent (Carmen Ejogo), Hank will lead them on a breathless race against the clock to find his wife and save humanity.
“Zero Hour” stars Anthony Edwards (“Big Sur,” “Flipped,” “ER”) as Hank, Carmen Ejogo (“Sparkle,” “Chaos,” “Away We Go”) as Beck, Scott Michael Foster (“Californication,” “The River”) as Aaron, Addison Timlin (“Californication”) as Rachel, Jacinda Barrett (“Matching Jack,” “Middle Men,” “New York, I Love You”) as Laila and Michael Nyqvist (“Mission: Impossible – Ghost Patrol”) as White Vincent.
“Zero Hour” was written by Paul T. Scheuring (“Prison Break”) who is also an executive producer along with Zack Estrin, Pierre Morel, Lorenzo DiBonaventura (“The Transformers,” “GI: Joe” franchise, “Salt,” “Red”) and Dan McDermott (“Human Target”). The pilot for “Zero Hour” was directed by Pierre Morel. The series is produced by ABC Studios.
NEW COMEDIES:
“HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS (FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE)”
Polly (Sarah Chalke) is a single mom who has recently divorced. The transition hasn’t been easy for her, especially in this economy. So, like a lot of young people living in this new reality, she and her daughter, Natalie (Rachel Eggleston), have moved back home with her eccentric parents, Elaine (two-time Golden Globe® and Emmy® nominee Elizabeth Perkins) and Max (three-time Emmy® winner Brad Garrett). But Polly and her parents look at life through different generational lenses. Polly (in contrast to how she was raised) aspires to be organized and together, while Max and Elaine live a more free-flowing, improvisational life-style. Polly wants to take it slow with new relationships, while her parents encourage her to be more sexually adventurous.
Polly and her parents’ views on parenting itself also conflict: Polly wants to be an involved modern parent, but Max and Elaine are laid back, hands-off parents from the 1970s. Polly believes children need to be sheltered and have structure and guidance, while Max and Elaine feel that children need the freedom to fall and pick themselves back up. After all, Polly turned out okay, so what’s the big deal?
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but in Polly’s case, this village is on fire, and although her ex-husband Julian’s (Jon Dore) intentions are good, he doesn’t exactly help extinguish the flames. But through figuring out how to live with her dysfunctional family, Polly realizes she might even be able to learn a few helpful things about herself.
“How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)” stars Sarah Chalke as Polly, Elizabeth Perkins as Elaine, Jon Dore as Julian, Rachel Eggleston as Natalie, Stephanie Hunt as Jenn and Brad Garrett as Max.
“How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)” is executive-produced by Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Claudia Lonow. The series is produced by Imagine Television in association with Twentieth Century Fox Television.
“FAMILY TOOLS”
Mixing family with business is never easy, and Jack Shea (Kyle Bornheimer) is about to learn that lesson the hard way. When Jack’s father, Tony (J.K. Simmons), has a heart attack and is forced to hand over the keys to his beloved handyman business, Jack is eager to finally step up and make his father proud. Unfortunately Jack’s past career efforts have been less than stellar, so everyone seems to be waiting for him to fail. His new job isn’t made any easier by Tony’s rebellious, troublemaking assistant, Darren (Edi Gathegi), and Darren’s flirtatious sister, Liz (Danielle Nicolet), who works at the local hardware store. But with the support of his Aunt Terry (Leah Remini) and his oddball yet endearing cousin Mason (Johnny Pemberton), Jack Shea may just find his true calling right at home.
“Family Tools” stars Kyle Bornheimer (“Bachelorette,” “Romantically Challenged,” “Perfect Couples”) as Jack Shea, J.K. Simmons (“Ultimate Spiderman,” “Generator Rex,” “The Closer”) as Tony Shea, Edi Gathegi (“X Men: First Class”) as Darren Poynton, Johnny Pemberton (“21 Jump Street,” “Aim High”) as Mason Baumgardner, Danielle Nicolet (“X Men TV Series”) as Lisa “Stitch” Poynton and Leah Remini (“In the Motherhood,” “King of Queens”) as Terry Baumgardner.
Based on the UK series “White Van Man,” the “Family Tools” teleplay is by Bobby Bowman. “Family Tools” is executive-produced by Joshua Sternin (“That ‘70s Show”), J.R. Ventimilia (“That ‘70s Show”), Mark Gordon (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Criminal Minds”), Andrea Shay (“It Takes a Village,” “Virtual Virgin”) and Paul Buccieri (“Prime Suspect”). The pilot for “Family Tools” was directed by Michael Fresco (“Suburgatory,” “Raising Hope,” “Better Off Ted,” “My Name Is Earl,” “Northern Exposure,” “St. Elsewhere”). The series is from ABC Studios.
NEW ALTERNATIVE SERIES:
“THE TASTE”
One blind spoonful could change everything… on ABC’s “The Taste.” The exhilarating new cooking competition show “The Taste” puts 16 culinary competitors -- pro chefs to home cooks -- to the fire when four of the world’s most notable masters of the food world judge their creations based on a blind taste test. In this pressure-packed contest, the taste in a single spoonful can catapult a contender to the top or send him packing. “The Taste” features no-holds barred chef Anthony Bourdain, British food star Nigella Lawson, expert chef/author Ludo Lefebvre and restaurateur Brian Malarkey. Each of the four culinary superstars and “Taste” mentors – Bourdain, Lawson, Lefebvre and Malarkey – will coach a team of four competing pro and amateur cooks chosen from a nationwide casting call as they vie to create the best tasting dish. In each episode, the groups will face team and individual challenges with a variety of culinary themes through several elimination rounds. At the end of each episode, the mentors will have to judge the competitors’ dishes blind, with no knowledge of whose creation they’re sampling, what they’re eating, how it was prepared or whom they could be eliminating.
“The Taste” is from Kinetic Content and is executive-produced by Chris Coelen, Matilda Zoltowski, Emma Conway, Anthony Bourdain and Nigella Lawson. Brian Smith is the director.
“CELEBRITY DIVING”
“Celebrity Diving,” based on the hit international format “Celebrity Splash,” features celebrities competing in an exciting, family-friendly and often thrilling diving competition in front of a packed audience. Stars will perform dives from dizzying heights that will increase in difficulty each week, including backflips, somersaults and other gymnastic feats, to impress the judges, viewers at home and, most importantly, to win! Leading up to the competition, a professional diving instructor will give each celebrity weeks of training. Dives are not for the faint of heart, as they can be from as high as from 10-meter boards, with ever-increasing complexity, leading up to the much-anticipated finale.
“Celebrity Diving” is from award-winning production company Eyeworks USA (formerly 3 Ball Productions). The series is executive-produced by JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson and Brant Pinvidic. Judges include legendary diver and four-time Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis, and David Boudia, who brought home the gold for diving at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
RETURNING SERIES:
“DANCING WITH THE STARS”
Season 16 of “Dancing with the Stars” will feature a star-studded cast filled with celebrities across a variety of genres, who will be paired with some of the world’s most decorated professional ballroom dancers to compete each week in a live ballroom competition. The couple with the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes for their performance is sent home live every week, on “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show.”
Hosted by Emmy® Award winner Tom Bergeron (“America’s Funniest Home Videos”) and Brooke Burke-Charvet (“Dancing with the Stars” Season Seven Champion), the celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which will be judged by renowned Ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. The series is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Conrad Green serves as executive producer.
“BODY OF PROOF”
Brilliant and driven neurosurgeon Dr. Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) has found a new life as a Medical Examiner after a car accident left her with a condition called paresthesia and unable to operate. Although she’s no longer in the business of fixing what’s wrong with living patients, she’s still instinctively drawn to finding out what killed her dead patients and uncovering who was responsible and why. As she pursues the answers, the bodies of the dead provide the clues. The body is, in effect, the proof. As she, alongside her incredible team, investigate what happened to her patients, she finds their lives and the lessons they hold are in a way a bequest to her, to learn from them what she can and to apply to her own personal journey of redemption and forgiveness. In return, Megan is determined to get them justice.
“Body of Proof” stars Dana Delany as Dr. Megan Hunt, Jeri Ryan as Dr. Kate Murphey, Mark Valley as Detective Tommy Sullivan, Geoffrey Arend as Dr. Ethan Gross, Windell D. Middlebrooks as Dr. Curtis Brumfield, Elyes Gabel as Detective Adam Schaeffer, and Mary Mouser as Lacey Fleming.
The series is created by Christopher Murphey and executive-produced by Murphey, Matthew Gross, and Evan Katz. “Body of Proof” is produced by Gross Entertainment and ABC Studios.
“SUBURGATORY”
Tessa and George (Jeremy Sisto) have been on their own ever since Tessa’s mom pulled a “Kramer vs. Kramer” before Tessa (Jane Levy) was even potty trained. So far George has done a pretty good job of raising Tessa without a maternal figure in their lives, but suddenly he’s feeling a little out of his league. So it’s goodbye New York City and hello suburbs. At first Tessa is horrified by the big-haired, fake-boobed mothers and their sugar-free, Red Bull-chugging kids. But little by little, she and her dad begin finding a way to survive on the clean streets of the ‘burbs. Sure, the neighbors might smother you with love while their kids stare daggers at your back, but underneath all that plastic and caffeine, they’re really not half bad. And they do make a tasty pot roast.
"Suburgatory” stars Jeremy Sisto (“Law & Order”) as George Altman, Jane Levy (“Shameless”) as Tessa Altman, Carly Chaikin (“The Last Song”) as Dalia Royce, Rex Lee (“Entourage”) as Mr. Wolfe, Allie Grant (“Weeds”) as Lisa Shay, Alan Tudyk (“V”) as Noah Werner, Cheryl Hines (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) as Dallas Royce, Ana Gasteyer (“Saturday Night Live”) as Sheila Shay and Chris Parnell (“30 Rock”) as Fred Shay.
Emily Kapnek (“Hung”) writes and executive-produces this bitingly ironic single-camera comedy, which is produced by Warner Bros. Television.

Actually they finished third last year.
EmoJoe 12-04-2012, 04:56 PM No, NBC pulled ahead of them and snagged 3rd thanks to the Super Bowl. Unless you're referring to total viewers but those numbers are less important.
icecream 12-04-2012, 05:11 PM Zero Hour sounds interesting, hopefully it's not a victim of the cursed slot for ABC. Maybe How to Live with Your Parents, but drop the rest of the title.

Final 2011-12 Ratings: ABC Moves Up to Tie an NFL-Boosted NBC in Adults 18-49
Based on Nielsen's just-released final primetime ratings for the 2011-12 season to include all DVR playback (Live + 7 Day Program Ratings), ABC moved up to tie an NFL-boosted NBC in Adults 18-49 (2.5/7), despite the fact that NBC carried the record-setting 2012 Super Bowl and the top-rated "Sunday Night Football" package throughout the 4th Quarter. In fact, excluding just the Super Bowl from the numbers, ABC surpassed NBC by 9% for the season (2.5/7 vs. 2.3/7). Factoring out all sports programming from the season averages, ABC's advantage over NBC jumped to 25% (2.5/7 vs. 2.0/6). Overall, ABC outdrew NBC by more than 1 million viewers for the season (8.5 million vs. 7.4 million).
· ABC Holds All of its Young Adult Number Year to Year: ABC retained 100% of its Adult 18-49 rating delivery from last season and was up in 25% of the half-hours on its schedule.
· ABC is the Only Net Up in the 10pm Hour for the Season: On Monday-Friday from 10:00-11:00 p.m. as a lead-in to affiliates' late-local news, ABC delivered solid year-to-year improvement in Total Viewers (+7%), Adults 18-49 (+4%) and Adults 25-54 (+7%). In fact, ABC was the only net to grow in the key Adult 25-54 news demo.
· ABC Airs the Season's Highest-Rated TV Series: ABC aired the season's No. 1 scripted series/comedy ("Modern Family"), the No. 1 drama ("Grey's") and the No. 1 freshman drama ("Once Upon a Time" - TV's top rated new drama series in 4 years). In fact, it was the 2nd straight season for "Modern Family" to stand as TV's highest rated scripted show, while ABC delivered TV's No. 1 scripted series for the 6th time in the last 8 television seasons.
· ABC's Wednesday Night Comedy Block Grows for the 2nd Year in a Row: For the 2nd year in a row, ABC's Wednesday 8:00-10:00 p.m. comedy block grew year over year with Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 18-49 (+9%). In fact on average during 2011-12, the Net wrapped up its top-rated Wednesday night performance in 5 years - since 2006-07.

icecream 12-05-2012, 04:15 PM I just realized Zero Hour will premiere on Valentine's Day. That isn't a good move as ratings will be down that night. ABC should air the Charlie Brown Valentine on the 14th and wait to premiere Zero Hour til the 21st.

I'm guessing all-new ABC Sundays from 1/6-1/20, and then 2/3-2/24 for Sweeps. Then break until April like 'Revenge' did last year on Wednesdays.
Pavan 12-11-2012, 01:06 AM No, they only have two airings in sweeps because of the Super Bowl and Academy Awards. Revenge will air some new episodes in March.
Milkamplifier 12-11-2012, 11:29 AM I wonder if "Revenge" gets a 2-hour season finale this season. I say that because the show will have aired 14 episodes through the end of February. That leaves 8, and "Red Widow", which got an 8-episode order, premieres with a 2-hour episode on March 3, which leaves 6.
In any event, the season finale of "Revenge" should air May 12, that is if ABC airs Billboard Music Awards the third Sunday of May (as they did last year), which is another reason ABC will have to air new episodes of "Revenge" in March.
icecream 12-11-2012, 01:35 PM Once Upon a Time deserves a 2 hour finale more than Revenge. I want the Billboard Awards to air on a different night, ABC needs it more on Tuesday and Once should air every Sunday in May sweeps.
Milkamplifier 12-11-2012, 01:59 PM Once Upon a Time also deserves 24 episodes per season, like Grey's Anatomy. Last year they got the standard 22, but they also had a later start.

Zedman2 01-15-2013, 08:01 PM yankeesj12: It's only one week. They were only scheduled for three Sundays.
To be honest, the Sunday episodes for these comedies probably just confused viewers. I watch both shows and clearly noticed the Sunday airings were either early series episodes that never previously aired or where being aired out of sequence from the Tuesday episodes. I mean Dave and Alex are a couple on Tuesdays but are not on the Sunday episodes. And what about Jane, she continues to work at the coffee shop on the Sunday shows, but on Tuesday's episodes she has her new Wall St. job? I know their comedies, but there is a element of ongoing storyline in each.
Pavan 01-16-2013, 01:32 AM The Happy Endings episode from this Sunday was the unaired episode from last season. And as for Apartment 23 they had 7 leftover from last season, so ABC is really airing that series out of order. There is one episode coming up that still has the Dancing with the Stars storyline. I think they need to air that series in a better order. Happy Endings is fine, but Apt. 23 is really out of order.

Pavan 01-19-2013, 04:57 PM With the change of a second Happy Endings at 9:30pm on Jan. 29, I'm thinking Don't Trust the B---- is pulled. Feb. 5 and 12 both comedies are preempted (for a Bachelor special on 2/5 and State of the Union on 2/12), and both are slated to return Feb. 19 for five weeks, but I'm guessing Don't Trust the B---- will not and they'll double pump Happy Endings from 9-10pm. And what do you know, Happy Endings has 10 episodes left after Jan. 29 is completed, so they could finish the season with episodes 13-22 from Feb. 19-Mar. 19.
icecream 01-20-2013, 05:58 PM Malibu Country has really improved since the first 3 episodes. I would like to see it paired with The Middle for the fall 2013 lineup.
icecream 01-21-2013, 05:23 PM Once Upon a Time was hurt by football and hit a season low. :( ABC should have saved yesterday's episode for next week.
Buffyboy323 01-21-2013, 07:51 PM The only sitcom I watch on ABC is Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23. Of course, the show has been "pulled" from the schedule.

As usual, ABC makes boneheaded schedule moves. They schedule their dramas against the Golden Globes and the Championship Game but then give them a week off against the Pro Bowl before returning against the Grammys. At the very least, I would schedule them this week and take the Grammys night off.
Milkamplifier 01-25-2013, 03:37 AM But, that kind of one-week-on/one-week-off type of schedule is exactly what people were complaining about last year (at least when it comes to Revenge). If ABC didn't run Sunday dramas against the Globes, the Championship game and the Grammys, they would end up with this schedule:
Jan 06 New
Jan 13 Off [Golden Globes]
Jan 20 Off [Championship Game]
Jan 27 New
Feb 03 Off [Superbowl]
Feb 10 Off [Grammys]
Feb 17 New
Feb 24 Off [Academy Awards]
And all that after a month-long holiday break in December. You can't do that with serialized dramas. Something's gotta give. They're airing 3 episodes in a row and then 2 pivotal episodes back-to-back during the sweeps, sandwiched between Superbowl and the Oscars, and it's really the best they can do with it.
The only alternative would be taking the shows off air for 3 months and splitting them into two 11-episode batches. But then they'd be off air during the February sweeps, plus people would then complain about the in-season break killing their momentum. Whatever ABC does, people will always complain and the network will always be the bad guys.
