CBS’ Two And A Half Men has been officially renewed for next season, the veteran comedy’s tenth, after the network has completed a new license fee agreement with series producer Warner Bros. TV. It came after the network closed new one-year deals with stars Ashton Kutcher, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones. CBS’ renewal announcement acknowledges the change at the helm of 2.5 Men for next season, with co-creator/executive producer Lee Aronsohn stepping down. Along with co-creator/showrunner Chuck Lorre, the comedy will be co-run next season by executive producers Don Reo and Jim Patterson. Another Men executive producer, Eddie Gorodetsky, will continue in its dual capacity as executive producer on Two And A Half Men and consulting producer on one of Lorre’s other two CBS comedy series, The Big Bang Theory. Aronsohn will serve as an executive consultant.

In its current ninth season, the first with Kutcher as star, 2.5 Men has averaged 15 million viewers and a 5.2/13 in adults 18-49 in most current ratings to rank as the No.2 comedy on TV in total viewers and third in 18-49. This is the 19th CBS series renewed for next season and the fifth comedy, alongside How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly and The Big Bang Theory.

If it weren't for Jon Cryer and Courtney Thorne-Smith, I'd have no reason to watch this show. It's like watching a trainwreck. I haven't watched the past 5-6 episodes it's gotten so bad. Ashton Kutcher isn't funny and neither is his british girlfriend. I still can't believe he is making more money per episode than Cryer, it's sickening. For a while I thought they killed off the kid along with Charlie. Jake is hardly on the show anymore and when he is it's only for a minute and he's just a pot smoking zombie now. As long as it has the much coveted 9:00pm on Mondays timeslot, this show will keep going until Lorre decides to end it, I'm afraid.

I don't like the direction Jake is going but I guess that is how they want to write him. I'll keep watching, though. We will see how it goes.
