If you know of any TV stars who had to wear a fake mustache, or a fake beard, or grow a real one for whatever TV shows they were starring in, please list them here.

Marvo301 05-07-2012, 05:22 PM Mike Farrell grew a moustache for the role of B.J. Hunicutt on M*A*S*H Jack Gomez 05-08-2012, 03:22 PM I'm pretty sure Mr. Angelino on Three's Company wore a fake beard. I think it was because the actor was on the show before as a different character. Jonathan Frakes grew a beard during the break between Star Trek:TNG's first and second season. Gene Roddenberry liked it so much that he told him to keep it for the part. megamanj2004 05-15-2012, 10:22 PM Michael Gross originally didn't have a beard in the 1st season of Family Ties. But from Season 2 (1983-84) until FT's end in 1989, he began sporting the beard and it clicked well with him for the rest of FT's run. Barry Primus who played Dorry McKenna on Cagney & Lacey for only the 1984-85 (the same season C&L gained its highest rating in its run), originally had a mustache. But a few eps. into the 1984-85 season, it magically vanished. Tubehead 05-16-2012, 05:27 AM I thinkwills uncle from fresh princce didn't have a beard thentorward the end or middle of the seriesr he grew a bread your right aboutfaiyties if you get digital cable goepsl music channel just requried the rightsto family ties it come on everyday at 10:00am . it not unitl sometime this summer. shawn and eric cory brother beard from boy meet world grew beard towrd the end of collage years Yong Fang 05-18-2012, 05:50 AM Groucho Marx did not have a mustache when he was in the movies with his brothers. He wore grease paint (for the younguns who don't know). Because of this, Groucho looked different on the street than on stage and few people recognized him. He only grew one when he did "You Bet Your Life" in the 1950's. The producers more or less forced it on him, because this is what the viewing public knows him. Apparently, Marx liked the mustache because he kept it the rest of his life. Concerning Mike Farrell, he grew his mustache because it was the 1970's and it was "in" so to speak. The real US Army of the 1950's did not allow mustaches, especially one like his. Besides, almost no one wore a mustache in 1952 (except for Stalin.....). It just was not a style. Several of the actors were out of place hair wise, Loretta Swit and her late 70's hair was another example. If MASH were on now, the internet age would rip the show a new one. Coffeecup 05-21-2012, 02:45 PM I think Rob Reiner( Mike on All in the Family) grews his mustache for he was told he would look older. Jason Lee on "My name is Earl" grew a mustache for the part of Earl. Buddy Ebsen for Jed Clampett?? megamanj2004 05-26-2012, 07:40 PM Did Michael Lembeck always had facial during his time on One Day at a Time? It seems like some eps. had him with little to almost no facial then later in the run he sported what appears to either be a mustache or beard. treky 05-26-2012, 11:54 PM Groucho Marx did not have a mustache when he was in the movies with his brothers. If MASH were on now, the internet age would rip the show a new one. the producers of "YOU BET YOUR LIFE" wanted Groucho to do it in his trademark black frock coat, grease paint mustache and glasses. But he said "If I can't be funny without 'em, the hell with it." opus 03-24-2024, 03:53 PM Did Michael Lembeck always had facial during his time on One Day at a Time?
