This afternoon I was shocked to hear of George Lindsey's passing. It came as a particular surprise since I'd just watched Rose Bowl on Friday night to update the NR FanFic Archive's long-neglected 'Quote of the Month'. For some reason the courtroom scene plagued my thoughts all day long, prompting me to watch that episode when I got home from work. The synchronicity is truly stunning because I haven't watched NR since last year, as I've been busy with other projects.

Anyway, I thought it fitting to place a memorial inscription on the website in honor of Mr. Lindsey's passing, whether you know him primarily from the Andy Griffith Show or his memorable guest role on NewsRadio.

Judy Judy Judy Judy!!!

I never saw the episode that he guest starred in. Mr. Lindsey was a comic legend and his character of Goober was very kind and child like. I think that's what appealed to so many people. R.I.P. George. :(
