I was thinking of the episode First Date and here's a bit of trivia for you.

Why did Daphne show up at Niles' appartment when she thought Niles was about to have a romantic dinner with Phillis (a name Niles blurted out when trying to tell Daphne he was in love with her)?

To cook the dinner for him. :)

Great answer, but no. She decided to help cook when she realized that nothing was yet prepared.

She brought him a dessert... a cake or something and when she went to put it in the fridge that's when she saw "there's barely enough pasta here for one person!" And opened the fridge and said she could "make something with this roast..." and told him sometimes she wonders what kind of fantasy world he lives in and told him to go upstairs to get ready and to put on that blue jacket because no woman could resist him in that and smacked him on the butt on his way out the kitchen door. :D
And yes... because I have no dvd's... that is from memory. Sadly enough.

And I have one... what was Niles doing just before Daphne showed up at the door?

I'm ashamed to say that from memory I don't know... But I'm impressed that you knew about Daphne bringing over the desert! You're awesome! DHP and Jane Leeves would be proud of you! :) Oh well.. It just gives me an excuse to watch that episode again. Not that I need one!

Hmmm... I'll have to think of a trivia question to add to this thread!

He was playing solitare and baring his feelings about Daphne to a magazine telemarketer over the phone.

Speaking about that smack on the butt... I always thought that was maybe a tiny bit out of character for that point in their relationship-- or maybe it just seemed more forward than Daphne was... or is that something that has a different meaning where she's from than we know about? Or was it the same kind of butt smack that football players do? Or the same way people smack a little kid on the butt when you're sending him off to do something? It seemed odd for her, an attractive single woman who didn't seem interested in him romantically, to do that to him, an attractive single guy who was supposedly getting ready for a date with someone other than her. His reaction was cute though. And I'm pretty sure she would never have done that to any other character on the show, as in Frasier or Martin, which is also an interesting thought, because that means by that point she perceived Niles differently than she did the other two. Of course this was after that whole evening in 'Daphne Hates Sherry' and I'm pretty sure that would never have happened with any other character either. I've looked before for signs early on that Daphne might have liked Niles more than she let on or more than she realized and all I've ever found are a few times when she acted differently with him than she would have with Frasier or Martin. Maybe this is just one of those things to add to that list. :)
