I didn't make a new thread, because I don't HAVE to. How many TIMES does it need to be said that there is NOT A RULE against that. Just like there isn't a rule against making new threads.

People are allowed to respond to old threads
People are allowed to make new threads about the same topic.

This isn't rocket science people, why is this so hard for you to understand.

People are allowed to respond to old threads.
no one said you couldn't. it just annoys everyone.

It does annoy everyone (or most people). It's one of my biggest pet peeves when someone bumps up extremely old topics. I have a legitimate right to complain about it if I want to and that's exactly what I'm doing.

exactly. not only do i dread seeing my ~*~**~*~*~*~**************rockangelprncssgrrl4valolz37382137******************~@!#~~!~*~*~*~* posts but this thread is just about as useless as one could get.

Why have 10 threads on the same topic if you can avoid SPAM and only have one thread for each topic?
In the last few days a few people (other than me) have bumped up old threads and NO ONE said anything, so why must you have a cow just because I did? If you're going to whine about such threads you need to be unbiased instead of saving your b*tching simply for when I repsond.
No one said you don't have the right to. And yeah other people have bumped up threads but we didn't say anything because they weren't stupid useless threads like what's your favorite fruit.

we should have the right to bump up old threads, but we don't need to make new threads on a topic that has already been mentioned. Bumping old threads brings back memories, and maybe new members would like to post a thought on an old thread. Otherwise what's the point on having all these threads.

I think bumping up old threads is ok, but this one person at the FH board kept bumping up threads from 4 years ago, thats a little too old

But he was new ;)

They do. But there are a lot of members, including myself, who do not like to read their old posts from a few years ago. Whenever I see an old post of mine, I just cringe. There are a lot of posts that I made over the last three years that I do not want to see again. Other people here feel that same way, too. Like Sarah. She said in this thread that she didn't like reading her posts on her old name. I could see where she is coming from. If someone ever bumped up a thread that I posted in and it had posts which were not like me today or were just plain bad (to me), then I would be upset. There'd be no point in editing them if they were quoted. This is the biggest reason why I am against bumping up extremely old topics. There are a lot of members who do not want to see their past posts and I'm one of them.

you'd think people would realize that bumping up old threads here pisses people off, even if it isn't that big of a deal to you if you want to state your favorite fruit, vegetable, color or whatever so badly just make a new thread. it'll save some annoying arguements. i really don't like when old stuff i post is bumped up, considering i have changed so much from that "omg tootie rox 4eva u loser jo isnt kewl srry tootie is best on fol k". lol. i am very embarrassed when i look back.

and this thread isn't very "INTERESTING", as you'd put it.

I must have 4 or 5000 posts that i want deleted, sorry i have enough of a life to not have time for that. Second of all most of them have been quoted by other people so there would be no point in editting them.

Exactly. Sometimes i freak out so much that i delete what i said but sometimes i can't because it had already been quoted. The threads just need to be left alone.
