First things first... My husband and I went to see "Shoulda Been You" tonight and I have to admit that I was a little afraid that I would end up hating it. That sounds terrible, but it was a real possibility. That being said, I didn't hate it at all! However, it is one of those musicals that I don't think has an 'in-between'. It's either love it or hate it. My husband was kind of indifferent about it and he didn't like the plot twist at all.

And as far as the plot twist goes, I am going to forgo an actual "review" because I'm afraid that anything I say will give something away. I will say that the lead singer/actress (Kat Ramsburg) who plays the bride's sister was absolutely amazing! She was by far my favorite character.

I loved the actual musical numbers and there was some romance as well as a lot of comedy. Oh, and I should probably point out that there was some swearing as well. I'm not offended by that, but it was a little surprising at first. No big deal, but this is definitely a PG-13 show! Not for kids at all!

But I know you're all dying to know about something else so I'll just say it...I admit, I did look to see if DHP was there and as I expected, he wasn't. But believe me, I looked! I was extremely nervous for a few hours before the show, thinking that I might actually get to meet him. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed, since I got all dressed up and everything (Just in case!), but I do appreciate all the "advice" y'all gave me about talking to him! Maybe it'll come in handy some day! Sigh....

One of the cast members did come out and talk to some people afterward, but I didn't get her autograph or talk to her or anything.

It was very cool to see this musical knowing that DHP had something to do with it, and it's awesome to think that after it leaves Everett, it's going to go to Broadway! I hope it does well there. I also hope there's a soundtrack b/c I would love to have the music in it. There weren't as many actual "dance" numbers as I would have liked, but given the fact that most of the women were wearing long dresses and heels, I can't even imagine how they did the dances that they did. I can't even walk in heels!

We had great seats, even though we were four rows from the back. It's not a big theatre at all, and we could see the stage perfectly! I absolutely LOVED the set designs. They were amazing and a few times I forgot that I was actually sitting in the theatre! I kind of got wrapped in the show. I'm hoping that there will be a

Anyway, I tried to post some pictures that we took at the theatre, but they are too big to upload :( but any of you who know me on Facebook can see the pics I posted in an album.

So... since I've seen the musical and loved it, I'm going to write another letter to DHP and tell him!! Then I'll just pray for a reply... :)

This is the review from the Everett Herald; our local paper...

Glad you enjoyed it. Even if a certain somebody wasn't there, it's always nice to have a night out. And that's great that you can write to him about it. The times that I've received feedback/photos from celebs has been when I mentioned something about a piece of work they're proud of or have a connection with. So I hope you get an answer this time. :)

Yeah, me too! Thanks! That was the first thing I mentioned in my letter so hopefully it'll stand out. And hopefully I'm sending this letter to people who can actually get it to him so that's 'comforting'! Plus I gushed about him quite a bit, so I hope he likes what I wrote! :)
