we just got this channel-and we don't need an antenna! Is this something new-that you no longer need an antenna to get it? Sorry if this has been discussed before; but I've been away for 3 months recovering from a stroke.

Are you getting it through your cable or satellite provider? That would be the only instance I can think of which you can receive it without an Antenna.

it comes in through our cable provider.

WFMZ-TV is the Me-TV affiliate in your area. They must have a deal with your cable provider to carry their subchannel(s). Where I live, Comcast carries both Me-TV (KRCR subchannel) and Antenna TV (KNVN subchannel).

Hope you are feeling better Treky! Isn't ME-TV awesome? I've only had it 3 weeks myself. It's not on our cable system yet.

yes, it IS awesome! I'm able to watch "THE RIFLEMAN" at 6 and 6:30 then switch over to Encore Westerns and watch "GUNSMOKE".
The only thing I don't like is they show "SGT. BILKO" at 5 and 5:30 am:(

But, that was a nice surprise when I got home!:)

If you can afford it, you should try getting a DVR. Once you go DVR, you never go back. ;)

Yeah since it comes through Comcast no Antenna is needed. I remember trying to buy an antenna last summer to watch Me-tv and was told it won't work because I live in a neighborhood with too many tall buildings.

But like you said, we now have both me-tv and antenna tv. Comcast has STEPPED UP to the "entertainment plate"

LOL

Yes,a DVR is great. It's very convenient, simple to use,and of course you can just zap through all the commercials. What I don't understand is why you cannot buy a stand alone DVR player, like you can buy a DVD player or VCR for example. As far as I know,in many other countries you can just buy one at the store, and not have to count on some Pay-TV company.

Exactly, just a way for comcast to drain more money from customers

Yeah, and it's not only comcast of course. Plus a DVR is also good for folks that do not even have cable.

You could get a DVD Recorder it works similiar to a VCR but for DVD's.

I was just stunned that Comcast charged customers for a HD box and a DVR box. Unbelievable

That's what i have but it doesn't allow you to record programming from cable channels. Only network channels like CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX.

Not sure about digital TV because I didn't need to record anything off those channels

Are you recording from a DVD recorder off a HD-TV Box? Because in that situation you can't record from cable channels

ME-TV started operation here in Chicago in January, 2005 with much of the same programming they still show. It was promoted here on large billboards featuring the stars of their shows such as Elizabeth Montgomery and Barbara Eden with a caption on top of the billboard asking simply "Remember me?". It was originally on a non-digital UHF channel. The station went nationwide in 2008 and is now carried on many cable systems across the country. They also spawned Me-Too and This TV on many affiliates that carry it.

If you have a DVD recorder that has HDMI, mine does, and I can record from any channel

My DVD Recorder does have HDMI but it only allows me to record from channels like NBC and CBS. Does that does like i have something hooked up the wrong way?
