Who had the best chemistry with Ann on One Day At A Time? Who would YOU prefer her be with at the end?

The worst. I could not stand him and he was straight up sexist. Out of them was Ed Cooper. David was too needy and clingy plus whiny.

Always liked David myself.

I could not agree more about David (mostly because I can relate to trying to get away from needy, clingy and whiny guys). Thank goodness Richard Masur went on to much better and meatier roles...not to mention becoming SAG President at one point during the 90s!!!

To me the whole point of the show was that Ann was a srtrong independant woman who didn't need a man to be happy. So none of the above!

If this show was being done today, wouldn't Ann (or Julie?) be a lesbian?

Why do you say that?
And if they were, what would it have changed?

Meaning that network TV today is more open to gay/lesbian characters.
