Although she and Bea Benadaret were nominated numerous times, neither won an emmy. As good as Gracie was, an honorary award should have been made by this time. With Ronnie gone now, only her daughter Sandra would probably be available to receive an award for Gracie.

Gracie and Bea were both underrated.

Absolutely. Gracie invented daffy; she, Lucille Ball and Gilda Radner were the best comediennes ever IMO. I just love the way Gracie always got things mixed up - nobody could do it like Gracie and nobody ever will.
As for Bea, I agree she was VASTLY unappreciated. Lucille Ball, to her credit had wanted Bea as Ethel, but Bea was under contract at the time. Even though Vivian Vance was great as Ethel, and it's hard to imagine another Ethel, I know Bea would have done a great job with the role. In addition to her many other talents, Bea was a wonderful voice-over artist--can you imagine an I Love Lucy ep where disguising your voice would come into play - Bea would have been FANTASTIC.
Glad Bea finally got a show (case) of her own with Petticoat Junction. She was wonderful as Kate Bradley. What a testament to her contributions that the show couldn't survive without Bea. I always get real sad when I think of Bea's untimely passing. We lost a great talent with Bea. And Gracie.
And btw, Bea was fierce as Betty Rubble's voice in the Flintsones. (and it was just one of the many cartoon characters she voiced--ever watch cartoons as a kid?--if you did there's a good chance Bea's voice was there!)

I saw this show for the first time last weekend at my parents house. It was quite funny. Gracie was so funny always getting things mixed up. I thought Bea was great also. I had never seen Bea before the Beverly Hillbillies. She was a true gem. Did Bea ever win an emmy for any of her work? I hope she did because she deserved it.

According to Wikipedia and IMDB, Gracie was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1955, 1956, and 1959, and lost to Nanette Fabray (Caesar's Hour), Lucille Ball, and Jane Wyatt (Father Knows Best), respectively. Also, Bea was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Regular Series (notice how there was no division between sitcoms and dramas) in 1954 and 1955, and lost to Vivian Vance and Audrey Meadows.
I think that if they had offered awards in the same categories every year instead of randomly skipping awards some years, Gracie and/or Bea would've gotten one. They definitely deserved one =(.

I read recently that Sandra passed away with in the last year.
