Blowing out 80 candles on April 27th is none other than....
Kemal Amin Kasem better known as simply Casey Kasem
Casey Kasem is a Radio DJ, voice actor and TV Host
He has been doing Radio for over 40 years and in 1970, he hosted American Top 40, a series in which he also co-created
He has also done voiceovers for the likes of Groove on The Cattanooga Cats Show, Norville "Shaggy" Rogers on Scooby-Doo, Robin the Boy Wonder on Filmation's Batman and Hanna-Barbera's Superfriends, Alexander Cabott III on Josie and the Pussycats and the voices of Bluestreak, Cliffjumper, Teletraan I and Dr. Arkeville on the Original Transformers.
He was also an announcer for NBC Saturday Mornings during the 1980's and he also does voiceovers for commercials on Boomerang
He has also appeared on such TV Shows such as Charlie's Angels, Saved by the Bell and Amen
He is also best known as the host of the Weekly TV Variety Series America's Top 10 from 1980-1992
He also hosted Casey's Top 40, Casey's Countdown and Casey's Hot 20 from 1989-1998
after 34 years, Casey Kasem said goodbye to American Top 40, but he still remained active on Radio
He also hosted four weekly syndicated radio programs based on the American Top 40 franchise: American Top 20 with Casey Kasem, American Top 10 with Casey Kasem, Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 70s, and Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 80s. The later two are replays of AT40 shows from the respective decades and he was also the voice of "Out of Sight Retro Night" which airs on WGN America, as well as the voice of GM's On-Star navigation/help system
When he retired from Radio as well as from 40 years of playing Shaggy on Scooby-Doo in 2009, Fellow Legendary DJ Rick Dees tookover as host of WGN America's "Out of Sight Retro Night"
Casey is also married to his wife Jean Kasem and they appeared on H2's Romancing the Squares
Casey also helps out with the MDA along with his Good Friend Jerry Lewis and he also remains Good Friends with fellow DJ's Bob Eubanks, Wink Martindale and fellow voice actor Frank Welker
