It's nothing personal with the late actor David Groh, I just didn't like the guy for Rhoda. I mean, in a way, I can understand why fans wanted to see Rhoda finally get the man, it's just that the man was not that likeable in my opinion.

I liked Joe but interestingly on the DVD of season one (you know the DVD with edited episodes mostly and terrible picture quality)James LBrooks and Alan Burns,say the felt David Groh wasn't the right match for Rhoda.

I think it worked very well,it was breaking them up,that started the slide in the Rhoda ratings.

Interesting that Brooks and Burns felt the same way. I am surprised others didn't feel the same way.

i wasn't a big fan of Joe, he sometimes seemed like kind of a jerk and maybe Rhoda could have done better

That's exactly how I felt robyrob! Joe deep down was probably a nice guy, but on the surface seemed a bit too gruff.

I hate it when in season3,it comes out he blamed Rhoda for pushing him
into marriage too quickly.

I still think in later seasons,they should have had a Will they/Won't they get back togethor,rather than laboured comedy with a very less interesting Brenda and the terminally unfunny Benny storylines.

Did she meet him while playing on MTM or on her own show?

Joe does not show up until Rhoda. Brenda was a baby-sitter for Joe's son, Donny, and Rhoda met him while visiting her sister in NY. Joe was only seen once on MTM, during a late-night call from Mary in "Mary Richards Falls in Love." :)
