BETTER VERSION.
I'm telling you it's youtube magic and you will like it a lot. I like the version so much that I found on youtube that I stopped listening to the original version I had for years-lol
Go to youtube and try this. I bet the same thing happens with a song you been liking for years.

What was the name of the song and the artists? It's very rare when I prefer a cover over an original but here's one example:
Barbara Lewis does a great version on her original recording of Hello Stranger but Yvonne Elliman simply nailed it.

One of my favorite songs was by Donald Fagen called IGY and when I went to youtube I found another version by Howard Jones and his version of IGY is soo much better than Donald Fagen. He sounds better and the song is more upbeat and faster
This also happened with a Al Jarreau song called "MORNIN" and found so many better versions by other artists on youtube

I like Rihanna's "Only Girl in the World" but after hearing Ellie Goulding's version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbacXzO47O4&feature=related), hers is miles above Rihanna's. She turns it into a romantic ballad which changes the vibe of some of the more risque lyrics. And this is a live recording.
Jennifer Rush was the original singer of "The Power of Love" and Celine Dion made it popular again in 1993, but Laura Branigan's 1987 version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgYFE1dbwhs&feature=fvst) hands down is the best. She had some powerful lungs.
Also, check out John Legend's acapella version of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." Gave me chills.

Celine Dion's version of 'It's All Coming Back to Me Now" is better remembered, but I much prefer Pandora's Box's version from 1989.

I also prefer Rita Coolidge's version of "We're All Alone" more than Boz Scagg's original and Nicolette Larson's cover of Neil Young's "Lotta Love."

Two great performances -- personal favorites of mine and very notable work, among the best female vocals you'll find in all of the '70s...!

To me, this is the best live performance that is at You Tube right now of my most favorite singer James Otto singing my most favorite song of his named "Dam* Right". :) :) :)
