Don't get me wrong, I think Maura Tierney is great, but I think Abby has been used way too much over the past couple of seasons. It seems like she gets all the attention.

Any thoughts?

Nah...I don't think she gets all the attention... a little bit much, but I enjoy it. I like Abby a lot.

I personally do not care for Abby at all. I find her whiny, mopey, and depressing. I liked Maura Tierney a lot better when she was on NewsRadio.

Abby is my second fave from the show. Maybe she gets a little too much screen time, but well...whatever.

Abby is cool. She might get too much screen time every now and them, but I wish they would make that screen time more interesting than it is...They need to work on her storyline somehow IMO.

I agree 100%. I like Abby, but sometimes her storylines are a little boring.

The thing that bothers me about how Abby is written is that we never seem to get any real insight into her life. She's always defined through other people it seems. I mean, really, what can we say we know about Abby other than she's the chick that went out with Carter, her mother is manic depressive, and she is trying to help out her abused neighbor. Now granted, I'm sure I haven't seen every Abby storyline, so maybe I am missing something....feel free to tell me what....

Speaking of Abby's mom, I hope they bring her back sometime. I really liked the one episode I saw with her in it, plus I love Sally Field.

Abby is a recovering alcoholic/addict, which has been brought up from time to time.

Jeez, I'm the one who started this thread, and I can't think of other things they've done with her.

Well that's an interesting tidbit. I didn't know that about her. Thanks for letting me know.

she has a right to be depressed and mopey. u see, her mother is bipolar and as a child, she didn't care for abby or her brother... she was always going off into manic bouts. then, she was in a rocky marriage w/this ******* named richard and she ended up turning to alcohol. she became a big alcoholic and her and carter go to aa meetings together cuz he is a recovering drug addict.

i lerb abby! she's one of my faves on the show. she rox! her and carter are gonna hook up... they'd better!
