JO Sweet Heart 04-14-2012, 10:14 PM I hope that starting a chat like this one is OK here. :) :) :)
Congrats to Keith Urban on his becoming the next member of the Grand Ole Opry! :) :) :)
God bless you and him always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
-STEFFY- 04-14-2012, 10:18 PM ^^^ Let's hope this guy makes it there some day soon! :)
JO Sweet Heart 04-14-2012, 10:55 PM ^^^ AMEN!!! And I pray every day for him!!! :) :) :)
God bless you and James always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
P.S. Actually it could happen for him still even though James hasn't had anything new on the radio lately because the precious has been on that Opry stage several times now. His last time was either this past February or last November. :) :) :)
-STEFFY- 04-14-2012, 11:03 PM I just listened to a clip of Keith Urban's voice and I thought it was just okay compared to James Otto. I like Otto's voice much better.
BTW, do you know if Scotty McCreery has been doing anything exciting in the world of country music?
Zoneboy 04-15-2012, 12:02 AM I hope that starting a chat like this one is OK here. :) :) :)
Perfectly fine. :)
JO Sweet Heart 04-15-2012, 12:44 AM ^^^ Thank you for letting me know! :) :) :)
BTW, do you know if Scotty McCreery has been doing anything exciting in the world of country music?
His newest song on the radio right now is named "The Trouble With Girls" and if the tour hasn't wrapped up yet, he is on the road right now as the opening act for Brad Paisley. :) :) :)
God bless you two and Scotty and Brad always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
-STEFFY- 04-15-2012, 08:34 AM I listened to Scotty's song again..."Trouble With Girls." It's a cute song. I like it. I hope he does well. :)
JO Sweet Heart 04-15-2012, 09:15 PM ^^^ Me too, but I have read that he may go to college this fall which means a possible hiatus from music if he is not able to do both simultaneously.
I just pray that a new album from James is available before the end of the year because his last one will be two years old in September, but according to this chat from him here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li63vdLVkPI), sadly the wheels can turn slowly. :( :( :(
God bless you and him and Scotty always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
-STEFFY- 04-16-2012, 02:11 PM Scotty is only 18. He has his whole life ahead of him to do his wonderful music. He really should take this opportunity to go to college now. I wish him well. I too hope James releases a new album soon. I'll look forward to it as he has such a sweet voice.
JO Sweet Heart 04-17-2012, 09:26 PM ^^^ I just hope that what is played here (http://www.twitvid.com/X4GPM) is on the new album from James because it sounds GOOD!!! :) :) :)
God bless you and him always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
-STEFFY- 04-18-2012, 12:53 AM ^^^ I just hope that what is played here (http://www.twitvid.com/X4GPM) is on the new album from James because it sounds GOOD!!! :) :) :)
God bless you and him always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
I liked all the little clips. He did sound good. I also liked his little video footage of the smoky mountains and also the video that says:
A serious moment in the studio. Seriously watch until the end.
James Otto
JO Sweet Heart 04-18-2012, 03:21 PM ^^^ I loved his Smokey Mountain clip because we hear him refer to "Smokey Mountain Rain" from Ronnie Milsap who just happens to be his most favorite singer. :) :) :)
God bless you and James and Ronnie always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
-STEFFY- 04-23-2012, 02:21 AM ^^^ I loved his Smokey Mountain clip because we hear him refer to "Smokey Mountain Rain" from Ronnie Milsap who just happens to be his most favorite singer. :) :) :)
God bless you and James and Ronnie always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
Ronnie Milsap's song "I Wouldn't Have Missed It For the World" is pretty good. I like that one. :)
JO Sweet Heart 04-23-2012, 07:54 AM ^^^ My most favorite song from him is "Don't You Know How Much I Love You". :) :) :)
God bless you and him always!!! :) :) :)

Jericho-79 08-16-2012, 03:37 PM Anyone here like Taylor Swift?:lookaroun
JO Sweet Heart 08-16-2012, 03:51 PM ^^^ She is not one of my most favorite female singers, but I love watching her kick butt. She's worked hard for her success and all she has had to do is be herself to get it. :) :) :)
God bless you and her always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
JO Sweet Heart 10-01-2012, 12:50 PM Go here (http://tasteofcountry.com/jason-aldean-apologizes-brittany-kerr-kissing-photo/) to read about the controversy that is now surrounding Jason Aldean. I pray that things do not get out of hand for him.

JO Sweet Heart 09-09-2013, 10:16 PM Tomorrow at 8:30 AM EST on Good Morning America, the CMA award nominations will be announced! :) :) :)
God bless you always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
JO Sweet Heart 09-22-2013, 12:28 PM What do y'all think of the controversy surrounding Zac Brown not being a fan of Luke Bryan's latest song on the radio?
God bless you and them always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
P.S. To me, those who have jumped on Zac need to remember that if they want respect for what they think, they need to show some for what others think first.
Penny Lane 09-22-2013, 07:48 PM I liked the early '90's heyday of Dwight, Travis, Confederate Railroad, Alan,Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Loveless, etc........ I really don't care for the newer stuff. IMO country music has become too "Madison Avenue". I know some may disagree but that's how I feel! :D
JO Sweet Heart 09-22-2013, 10:00 PM ^^^ I miss Dwight and Patty too.
God bless you and them always!!! :) :) :)
Holly
HuntingtonM15 09-22-2013, 10:26 PM Patty Loveless is one of the greatest things to happen to the music industry. She will always be one of my all-time favorites. Her talents are simply without equal.
I also love Mary Chapin. I was able to meet her earlier this year, and she was awesome.
MrCleveland 09-22-2013, 11:03 PM I still like 90's Country Music, it had a pop standard, but it wasn't in-your-face scenario...something that Linda Ronstadt did in the 70's, but Garth Brooks was 90's Country Music, and here's one of my favorite songs from him....
POXZ_tJkiyw
That's the ONLY Garth Brooks that I can find that has Garth Brooks! But when I think of 90's Country or Country-Rock Music...I think of my grandfather...I sooooo miss him!ohno:ohno:ohno:ohno:ohno:
ponytail 09-25-2013, 05:57 AM I prefer the country classic's. I listen to a station that plays oldies and the new artist.
HuntingtonM15 10-01-2013, 07:58 PM It's so hard to believe that this album has been out for 10 years now. I still remember getting it on the day of its release.
All four of its singles made it into the top 20 on the country charts, with two of them making the top 10. Though, many of my favorites on the album never became singles...Learning to Fall, Wearing White, She's a Butterfly, Show Me
JO Sweet Heart 01-16-2014, 02:52 AM Go here (http://www.cmt.com/news/country-music/1720535/trace-adkins-enters-rehab-facility.jhtml) for some sad news concerning Trace Adkins, may the Lord help him off of this Devil hijacked ride. (bowing my head)
God bless you and Trace always!!!
Holly (a day one fan of him)
JO Sweet Heart 05-05-2014, 11:21 PM Go here (http://www.cmt.com/news/country-music/1727107/scotty-mccreery-armed-robbery-was-a-very-scary-night.jhtml) for some rather alarming news concerning Scotty McCreery.
God bless you and him always!!!
Holly
JO Sweet Heart 12-20-2017, 10:38 PM Go here (http://tasteofcountry.com/michael-ray-arrest-statement/) to read about a new arrest in country music, may this good new singer be able to maintain his momentum especially if this ends up being his only self inflicted set back.
God bless you and Michael Ray always!!!
Holly
P.S. P.S. He recently scored another big hit with his song named "Think A Little Less". What reason does he have to make drugs a part of his picture?
JO Sweet Heart 02-21-2018, 04:14 PM Because it was announced earlier today that Billy Graham has gone forward, I thought that I would share this wonderful song that was done about him by several country singers.
ggwdrhwbhZQ
God bless you and them and his family always!!!

Here is an article on Reba McEntire from Playbill.com:
http://www.playbill.com/article/reba-mcentire-reflects-on-her-time-on-broadway-and-what-current-show-tune-would-make-a-great-country-song
JO Sweet Heart 01-04-2020, 06:04 PM ^^^ Its true that country music has gotten more popular over the past couple of decades, but in my opinion, the popularity only increased because of how much more open the format has become where non country material is concerned and so thank you for not only resurfacing this chat, but for doing just that by sharing the latest about someone who doesn't have to be questioned in such a way.
God bless you and Reba always!!!
Holly

JO Sweet Heart 01-07-2020, 01:25 PM Earlier today, Rascal Flatts announced that the tour that they do this year will be their farewell tour after being on the radio for the past 20 years now. Go here for the news clip and their tour dates.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rascal-flatts-farewell-tour-band-announces-dates-and-cities-for-last-tour/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7e&linkId=80217801
I was able to see them back in 2003 when they opened for Kenny Chesney during his Neyland Stadium show in Knoxville, TN. They were awesome. My most favorite song from them is “While You Loved Me”.
God bless you and the guys and Kenny always!!!
Holly
P.S. Am I the only person here who realizes that they never once were given a Grammy award? “Bless The Broken Road” was named Best Country Song, but that award never goes to the singer. The guys were able score four nominations in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category, but currently that may be as far as their Grammy road has taken them.

That's a shame that this will be their last tour, because I'm a fan of their music.

JO Sweet Heart 02-16-2020, 10:24 AM I've never heard of him, but I do pray that the Lord forgave him for every wrong move that he is guilty of and that the man himself asked for the forgiveness too.
God bless you and his family and his victims always!!!

JO Sweet Heart 03-17-2020, 02:40 PM One singer that we haven’t heard anything new from in a while is Trace Adkins. Not only will a new song from him named “Better Off” be released this Friday, but go here (https://traceadkins.com/blogs/news/casting-now-for-judge-trace-television-series) to see what else is now going to be done by him. I just pray that its successful for him because in my opinion, it could be a hysterical thing to watch with Trace being the way that I know him to be and all. :D :D :D
God bless you and him always!!!
Holly (a day one fan of him)
P.S. Apparently a premiere date has not been set yet.

JO Sweet Heart 03-29-2020, 05:15 PM ^^^ I got to meet him at my one and only CMA Music Festival in 2000 which was named Fan Fair at the time and again in 2007 when he came here to my area. A beautiful man Joe was. Sadly I am having a problem getting my favorite picture of me and him together up here and so in the mean time, here is another of his best songs in my opinion.

He looks a lot like Stephen Nicholls, the guy who plays "Steve Johnson" on Days of our Lives.
JO Sweet Heart 03-29-2020, 05:54 PM ^^^ The only thing missing I guess is the eye patch if it has to be worn in real life.
God bless you and Joe's family always!!!

JO Sweet Heart 03-29-2020, 08:40 PM ^^^ Thank you. The issue with my picture has to do with my email. I don't have a cell phone or a scanner, but my mom has a phone and so I took a picture of the picture with it and sent the picture that is now on her phone to my email address. I've been able to send pictures from her phone to my email address in the past, but for some unknown reason, I am not getting the email this time. So far I have tried four times.

God bless you and his family always!!!
Holly
P.S. It is very much appreciated how much has been shared about Joe, especially when maybe at the end of the day, the family doesn't owe the fans much if anything at all. I do remember hearing Joe say on the radio years ago that the fans are who keep celebrities going and so if I have ever overstepped in any way by caring about my favorites so much to where I may ask about things that might be private, I do apologize. To me, people as wonderful as Joe deserve all of the thought and respect in the world, especially when respect is what comes from people like him first. :) :) :)

ABlairican Pie 06-21-2020, 03:37 AM Having a confession:
After so long of following rock and metal for decades, I have grown frustrated with the redundancy of rock radio stations. As a result this week, I have switched entirely to listening to a COUNTRY station in Seattle, 98.9 FM The Bull. New country, great songs.
I just needed feel-good songs with a sense of humor and an ability to touch the heart. I no longer felt it in the same old songs on other stations.
I was actually exposed to a Seattle country station, I think it was The Wolf, at my new work environment two and a half years ago, that I couldn't get enough!!

JO Sweet Heart 06-21-2020, 05:38 PM Having a confession:
After so long of following rock and metal for decades, I have grown frustrated with the redundancy of rock radio stations. As a result this week, I have switched entirely to listening to a COUNTRY station in Seattle, 98.9 FM The Bull. New country, great songs.
I just needed feel-good songs with a sense of humor and an ability to touch the heart. I no longer felt it in the same old songs on other stations.

P.S. Welcome to the country music hood. :) :) :)
:thanks:
That's one problem I have with some of the latest country, that it seems to have been infiltrated by weird elements of hip-hop "percussion", drum samples and things to make it seem "current". Some of these things have a sort of weird "pop" connection. This was the problem in some of the 90's country, the whole "young country" trend where everyone tried to sound more like "old rock and roll" like The Eagles and others in order to gain acceptance. It's important to grow and change, but some of it felt compromised in the process.
I'm listening to 100.7 The Wolf in Seattle. I switched it from The Bull station to this one because The Bull was good but seemed to play the same songs. I always liked The Wolf since I first started listening to it years ago because it had a variety of songs.
ABlairican Pie 06-21-2020, 11:50 PM I have to admit that one of the reasons why I gave up listening to rock and metal was because as of lately, everyone in it started getting all into it with "social" and "political" messages and acted like they had to get on soapboxes in the media rather than just play music. While social commentary has always been a part of rock and metal, it got to the point where no one was making music but always "preaching" in ads and articles. It was taking itself too seriously and distracted from enjoying music.
Country was always about fun and feeling good, and having those good "cry-in-your-beer" songs about the girl who broke your heart and took your dog. With your pickup.
I feel like writing my own socially conscious country song: "The Politics Of Drinking".
JO Sweet Heart 06-22-2020, 09:31 AM ^^^ If trying to get away from the soap boxes is your intention, sadly country music may not be the direction to go in either, because plenty of singers in country music have never hesitated to get up on the ones that they possess, but at the end of the day, I can't blame a good deal of them. What they address needs to be acknowledged in some way and as long as what they address isn't being glorified, I say more power to them!
God bless you and my favorites always!!!

It's true, or becoming a little clearer as I'm listening, that there is more social commentary or action in country music (think the Dixie Chicks over fifteen years ago) than before, and that's not really going away. I get that. And for a long while I applauded and defended social commentary in rock and metal. Well, in fact, I always defended it. Until I got to the point recently that every band in rock and metal started acting and talking like Rage Against the Machine wannabes. And I was thinking, okay, for political views in music and by performers, were more conservative views allowed? Or is that, well, you know?
I don't know, for instance, about this action by Lady Antebellum to change their name. I get it that the name means "pre-Civil War", a nod to Southern culture from where they came. But that brings up so many ideas of things like "pro-slavery" and an "endorsement" of the practice, etc. It's a little strange for people to disavow any connotations to a certain culture, region, or era that has unsavory implications. But it's like the South and that history has become a pariah, or in fact any period in American history because anything before our current gloriously enlightened period of sophistication is to be considered relegated to the dustbin of history. Eighty-seven years before the Gettysburg Address was, well, "America didn't really exist or shouldn't have been deserving of consideration". But the connections to the South didn't mean the same thing to everyone at all time.
JO Sweet Heart 06-22-2020, 07:05 PM ^^^ To me, Lady Antebellum could always keep their original name and give the second word another meaning that is more positive. Some words have more than one meaning anyway and so why not the word antebellum?

I actually read that antebellum meant a style of architecture.
I'm not sure that "Lady A" sounds country enough. They should replace it with something more "Southern-y" if they have concerns about it.

I agree totally. Why the sudden need for name changes when they went by these names for years anyway? It's just phony.
It'll always be Lady Antebellum and Dixie Chicks, no matter what.
On a related note, David Lee Roth says he's changing his middle name to David L. Roth or "El Roth", some speculating because Lee is "too reminiscent" of General Robert E. Lee.
I wonder if Geddy Lee of Rush would have to follow suit and change his professional last name (his real last name is Weintraub).
My middle name is Lee. Should I change it?

Yeah, it was oh so selfish that these country artists chose to have a concert where fans were not practicing safe social distancing and other protocols, yeah, we get that. Evil so and so's! Yet earlier this month, protests erupted nationwide where all safety precautions were abandoned to make their social "statement".
I mean, I agree that such country artists should be horsewhipped if we had a horse, but let's be consistent.
Oh wait, no, if it's collective outrage, it's being "conscientious", but if it's just one or two artists encouraging such behavior, it's "selfish!" :nonono:
Btw, wouldn't the activities of the non-social distancing crowd at this concert be considered enhancing herd immunity? ;)

JO Sweet Heart 11-12-2020, 08:26 PM To me, every tribute during last night's CMA award show should’ve been done the way that the Charlie Daniels tribute was done and that is with a medley of the biggest hits. The tributes to Mac Davis and Kenny Rogers were too sad. The Joe Diffie tribute couldn’t have been any more fun. I just wish that more of his songs had been acknowledged because in my opinion, “Pickup Man” isn’t even close to being his best song.
Zac Brown Band, in my opinion, should've been the act to sing "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". They couldn't have done a more awesome job on the song during the 2009 CMA award show.

It's a video in a bar setting with tons of people partying it up. Has anyone seen this video? It was a few weeks ago, and I can't remember the title.

I think Loretta Lynn laments the days of great country icons as Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and more recent classic figures as Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, and others, as being "dead" and "forgotten" by newer fans . In every genre of music, people have a problem with change. She's definitely "old school", and newer country artists are going to rub her the wrong way.
At the same time, I can see a sort of "watering down" of country music to more pop standards to reach a greater audience. This was the accusation nearly thirty years ago with artists like Billy Ray Cyrus, Garth Brooks, and others as part of the so-called "young country" which resembled more of 70s
classic rock artists as The Eagles and others rather than real country. And Brooks raised eyebrows when he released an "alternative country" album under a different persona. It's interesting to broaden country to not be typecast in a different era or particular sound.
JO Sweet Heart 12-02-2020, 03:33 PM ^^^ I most definitely get where she is coming from because most of my favorites are not on the front burner anymore. To me, the best of the newer crop is the duo who actually originate from Canada named High Valley.

P.S. Its been just over a week now since one of my most favorite male singers went forward. As long as I am still here, what Hal Ketchum gave us will never be put away as well as what we got out of Billy Joe Royal, Joe Diffie (Him already too?), and Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys. What we got from Eddie Rabbit and Keith Whitley will never collect any dust either.
ABlairican Pie 12-06-2020, 01:10 PM I just heard a song by Lady A on the radio a minute ago, and it got me to thinking:
Since Lady Antebellum jumped on the bandwagon to disavow Southern culture, pre-Civil War, as "racist", etc., and change their name to the more PC, UN-country-sounding moniker "Lady A" (ditto with the Dixie Chicks to simply "The Chicks"), what do we say about the band Confederate Railroad?
I saw a video of Confederate Railroad online and thought it was really good!
ABlairican Pie 12-06-2020, 01:26 PM Maybe it's just me, but am I the only one who thinks that the pop duo Dan + Shay sound a little too fluffy to be called country? I mean, to each his own, but rugged is not an adjective I'd use to describe them.

The changed name Lady A just doesn't sound country enough. It's like...Cardi B. Or Tenacious D.
I think it's possible to change the meaning to something else. Antebellum simply means "before the war", as well as an architectural style, from what I read. It feels like pandering to change something because of a Southern connotation in whatever context.

P.S. The overheard word choice in my opinion is wrong, but so is the reason why we know about any of this in the first place. If the person who made the film thought that too much of a disturbance was being made, dialing 9-1-1 is what should have been done, but from what we can tell, all that they cared about doing was filming other people and without the permission of who it is that they decided to film.
JO Sweet Heart 02-06-2021, 01:37 AM According to what I read at another forum, Morgan's sales/streams are up 339% even as his radio play is down 70%.
My thoughts? Sometimes controversy may only work in a person's favor. One thing that we can all agree on is that it does help to get a person's name out there better. I can't help but wonder if this whole matter was staged so that what is happening now would take place.

And Wallen appears to have used this in a drunken rant, not specifically directed at anyone or in any way "racist". (I in fact recall the actual slur was the name of an obscene rap song from about thirty years ago, so was he subconsciously referencing that?) Sad that the offended neighbor could not have called 911.
It's sad that the whole industry has to punish him, a country star on the ascendant, when so much more has been said and done that is worse. Thinking of Nick Cannon's actual racist rants for which his penalty is a mere slap on the wrist.
Now I've got "Whisky Glasses" stuck in my head. I want to hear more of Morgan Wallen, I've heard he has great songs!

I saw a video with a girl, who was undoubtedly a person of color and a part of Mogan Wallen's business entourage, defend him. What one says as part of a drunken binge and what one means are two different things. We're in too much of a politically charged time to think rationally.
At the same time, "Whisky Glasses" becomes a new anthem.
JO Sweet Heart 02-11-2021, 10:58 AM So Morgan Wallen recently shared a new video of himself. I pray that this newest wake up call of his is the last one that he’ll ever need. Getting on the road of sobriety is already a good step in the right direction and yes, nine days without a drink may not be much to write home about at the moment, but may the beat that he is currently playing only go on. :) :) :)

Now while it is interesting to see developments that country music is diversifying with its acceptance of gay and black female artists, it seems a little too tied in to the narrative to the new "woke" culture that has begun to pervade everything, that it cannot be itself and transcend. It is subjected to it and is no longer itself.
Now the incident with Morgan Wallen is pathetic and he apologized for it. Will Nashville forgive him and let him continue on with his career? That remains to be seen. But I hear Vince Gill sing an obligatory song about "400 years" of racial oppression. And immediately one is aware of the '1619 Project' which claims that America is founded on slavery and is now being taught in the school curriculum everywhere. Country music, like anything in popular culture, is in need of change. But it seems that in the process, it is more about the kowtowing to the politically correct zeitgeist rather than accepting of different voices. Does this not sacrifice the spirit of country, the ability to be one's own self and not compromise to the whims of the collective "woke" crowd?
When this discussion is carried on CBS, you get the impression right off that this is not about things more nuanced in the culture of country. It is going to focused on the "scandals" and more "controversial" things average viewers are not going to "get". It's aired more for its provocative nature than for actual questions and issues country artists face.

I am not a fan of American Idol, but to see such a headline, my two pennies on the matter can no longer have a place in my pocket. To me, if this Caleb Kennedy kid doesn’t have a racist rump, he needs to get up off his cockamamie keister and finish what’s already been started because its moments like this that a person will find out just how many fans it is that they truly have which is what leaves me with this question: can the kid still be voted for even though walking away has become his intention?

JO Sweet Heart 04-03-2023, 12:38 PM It was announced earlier today that Tanya Tucker, Patty Loveless, and songwriter Bob McDill are the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
God bless you and them always!!!
Holly (a fan of Tanya since 1991)
Penny Lane 04-03-2023, 01:44 PM I love Tanya and Patty! they deserve the honor!:thumbsup::clap
JO Sweet Heart 04-04-2023, 10:08 AM ^^^ I just pray that they are both stronger than Naomi Judd was. She apparently could've been under the impression that her musical services were no longer necessary when she got put in there last year. :( :( :(
God bless you and Tanya and Patty always!!!

I'm sure you meant nothing by this, but honestly, this was a terrible thing to say.
Naomi was severely mentally ill. She was incredibly honored at news of the induction and was looking forward to it, as well as embarking on The Judds final tour. Tragically, her mental illness did not allow either to proceed as planned.
Penny Lane 05-18-2023, 03:15 PM Happy 71st birthday to King George Strait. :) :) :)

JO Sweet Heart 07-17-2023, 11:09 AM Go here (https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/country-singer-jason-aldean-suffers-191725861.html) for the latest concerning Jason Aldean. I pray that things went better for him last night in Saratoga Springs. To me, all summertime outdoor concert stages should include a good air conditioning system that is placed in front of the singers.
God bless you and him always!!!

ABlairican Pie 07-22-2023, 12:00 AM Not sure why Sheryl Crow thinks she's qualified to criticize Jason Aldean.
ABlairican Pie 07-22-2023, 12:05 AM Had to mention, it may be a little late, but I went to see Hank Williams Jr. at White River Ampitheater in Auburn, Washington, the other weekend! Was slowly becoming aware of his music, and went mostly for an education in various styles of guitar, including slide and acoustic! Saw and met a lot of good looking girls there dressed to the nines! Everyone was having a good time, and the opening band, Old Crow Medicine Show, was there to get you into feeling good!
Heard some highlights such as "Family Tradition" and "A Country Boy Can Survive", among others. So many people were nice and helpful!
JO Sweet Heart 07-22-2023, 06:49 PM Not sure why Sheryl Crow thinks she's qualified to criticize Jason Aldean.
I just now saw a write up concerning another singer who has given his two cents on the matter concerning Jason and, in my opinion, not only does he owe Jason an apology, but his apology should also go out there everyone else in the music business, especially those who do not do any songwriting. I'd like to thank Jake Owen for what he had to say in response.
God bless you and him and Jason always!!!
Holly
P.S. Go here (https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/singers-jason-isbell-and-jake-owen-quarrel-over-jason-aldean-song/ar-AA1eboE3?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=f5a28428279c434c836b808133756b7b&ei=10) for the write up.
JO Sweet Heart 08-21-2023, 12:23 PM Before I share something new, I have to share an earlier clip first. My newest musical discovery is a person that I never knew of until last month, but as I've come to know more about him, I have learned that he has been around for at least five years now. Maybe some of you here have heard of him. His name is Mason Ramsey and a clip going viral of him singing "Lovesick Blues" from Hank Williams Sr. in the middle of a Wal-Mart store is how it all got started for him. This first clip here is a video and song from him at age 12 that was released in 2019 and to me, it couldn't be anymore awesome! :) :) :)
xwe8F_AhLY0
The next two clips are what we get from Mason now at age 16. The first song was written by him and released on June 30th and the second song was released just two weeks ago. In my opinion, there can never be too much Mason from both now and his earlier years. I can't wait for whatever comes next from him, I love him so much!!! :) :) :)

ABlairican Pie 08-21-2023, 09:24 PM Any thoughts on Oliver Anthony's song "Rich Men North Of Redmond" taking the country by storm?
JO Sweet Heart 09-16-2023, 08:40 PM This song and video was released yesterday. To me, there is no other singer who can touch this complete and total masterpiece of a young man.

P.S. The lead singer is releasing a book this Tuesday about his life on the road. The book is named The Boys And Me which of course is one of their big songs from the 90s.
JO Sweet Heart 02-23-2024, 03:07 AM My newest favorite, Mason Ramsey that is, just released a new song.

P.S. This new song takes me back to one of my favorite singers who isn't here anymore. My favorite from way back started getting played in 1965. Billy Joe Royal is his name, and this song sounds like it could've been from his first album. :) :) :)
JO Sweet Heart 03-09-2024, 03:18 AM A video for Mason's new song has been released.

ABlairican Pie 05-04-2024, 09:30 AM On the radio dial in the Seattle area, we now have a new "Old School" country
station, Hank, KPLZ, which used to be a Top 40 station, as well as The Bull, which dropped off the air for a while to become an adult alternative station, but it returned to the radio to play "New Country". And there is The Wolf, which sort of plays a little of both in between.
JO Sweet Heart 05-04-2024, 10:34 PM This is a new song from Randy Travis, but the Artificial Intelligence ability is what's being used to keep his voice out there since it may be the only option that there is with his health being the way that it still is.

P.S. How do I feel about it? It's sad that he can't deliver like he used to, but if he had not delivered when it was still an option for him, he would never once be the subject of anyone's musical conversation. In other words, if anyone has earned the right to go such a route, it is most definitely him. Go here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awards_and_nominations_received_by_Randy_Travis) for a list of all the love he received from the awards show powers that be. Happy 65th birthday to him by the way. :) :) :)

P.S. Wow, what a year already for this group. Duane's wife went forward on Easter Sunday and William Lee had to let go of one of his sons on July 1st.
