How many of your friends (Day-to-day friends, not online) know about these boards? Do a lot of your friends know you go here or is like your little secret?

Well Melody and Andrew have been to the FOL site here before. I don't think they've been on the boards...

My friends are all animals. :crazy: Seriously, I've told them I come here and they wonder what kind of crack I'm smoking. (And can they have some.) I send them every so often to certain posts, but nothing to make a lasting impact on them to want to stay.

Besides...you don't want to know my friends offline...they're NUTS!

None of my friends know about it. They would think I was some kind of weirdo or something if they knew I came here everyday. I have told one of my coworkers though. But she doesn't have a computer and knows nothing about them so she really didn't understand what I was talking about when I explained these boards to her. :lol:

Heehee....I guess I am too, sort of. My friends know I go to a few message boards, but I don't think I have ever specifically mentioned this board. However, my roomates have been in the room when I was on this board, and I don't like close it down or anything so they don't see it. I just keep on postin'....

:idea: Ya know, I think there is some kind of sociological phenomenon going on here. I think there is a stigma attached to people making connections/friendships online. Therefore, people are reluctant to admit to it, and rationalize this behavior. Take me, for example....I often find myself rationalizing my message-board visiting by saying "I go to the Aerosmith board just to stay updated on news about the tour/band/etc." (which is true but not the only reason. actually I don't go there much anymore, but that's beside the point.) :lol:, sorry, too many soc. classes I guess!! :crazy:

The only one of my friends that knows about this site is my 14 year old nephew. One time he was at my apartment while I was on here. He said that he was going to become a member but he never did.
