Hazel Anyday

2 days ago I finally ordered Hazel Season 2. While I thought I'd be the first in line to buy, I must admit frugality kept me at bay. I waited and waited for the price to come down:rolleyes: . It seemed it wasn't going to anytime soon, finally I couldn't take it anymore:mad: , I bought it from Deep Discount, whose price was pretty good, better than Amazon anyway. I did see and hold the box set in my hands :happyface at the Barnes & Noble store when it was first released, but they wanted $40 for it:eek: ! I was going to wait for Deep Discount's 25% sale but I couldn't hold out anymore. I watch Hazel from DVDs I created myself every Saturday & on days I take off from work as I eat breakfast. I'm currently in Season 4 and have all of Season 5 and Season 1 to watch before I'm even ready to start watching Season 2 (which is also why I didn't feel any urgent need to buy yet). So if I was was smart I should have just waited until the 25% sale came along because by the time I'm ready for Season 2 it will be long past the sale time. But what the heck, I'll splurge for Hazel Anyday! :D My namesake here ;) .

Believe me, in this economy, my days of instant gratification buying DVDs have been curtailed. I bought my copy of Hazel the week it came out, at Barnes and Noble here in Chicago, for $31.99 plus tax. With some of the newer shows I have purchased on DVD, I have waited for it to show up at a used DVD outlet, such as Reckless Records, which we have here. A show like Hazel, though, almost never shows up used. The people who buy it want to hold on to it.

I bought season 1 at McKays Books for $18.00. It was still in the wrapper. It had been originally sold at Cracker Barrel. CB has many of the old tv shows for a reasonable price.
