friendsfa26 04-06-2012, 06:11 PM shout factory to the rescue :)
TVFactFan 04-06-2012, 11:53 PM Now this is the season I plan to buy because the first two episodes are featuring a guest star by the name of KIM FIELDS
Plus I never saw the unedited version of Bank Job which was one of the best eps of the series
-STEFFY- 04-06-2012, 11:55 PM This is great news! I always loved this show. I have seasons 1 and 2, but I always wanted more. I can't wait. :)

Seasons 3, 4, and 5 are the best seasons of the show. Season 1 is the worst followed by season 8-lol

Once that annoying red-head kid Sam came to live at the Drummonds, it became almost unwatchable. I couldn't stand that little twerp. I think that was season 8.
I think season 3 has more of Dudley in it. I liked him.

I think Sam came at the end of season 6.

That must be when Mr. D married Sam's mom .....can't remember her name. I hated the way Sam was written to be like Arnold's side-kick.

Her name was Maggie
MRPITT 04-07-2012, 12:29 AM I will definitely be buying this and hope to see Seasons 4 & 5 soon.
Great news! Now let's hope Antenna TV, MeTV, Netflix or Hulu Plus picks up the show soon.
tazz765 04-07-2012, 05:10 PM The cover art says 22 episodes. So what I wonder is if they just include the episodes aired during Season 3 that means the two hour episodes will be broken up into two parts. But if the hour episodes are included in their original format that means The Model and Growing Up which were held over till Season 4 will be included. Hopefully they are able to find the original copies of the hour episodes and present them that way.

I remember the Bank Job. That was a good one.
I'm not sure if I remember The Accident.

The Accident was about a drunk driver putting Mr. Dummond in the hospital

Now I do think I remember that episode. He had amnesia, and when they took him home he started to remember Kimberly first. The boys got insulted so they were going to run away and that's when Mr. D remembered that Willis tried to pull that stunt a few years ago.
I'm so glad you reminded me. That was a good episode, too.

Yeah that episode was a little too serious for my taste

That's true. There wasn't too much comedy stuff in that one.
Another serious one was when Dudley's dad was begging Arnold and Dudley to never smoke. He had lung cancer and had one of his lungs removed. I remember at the end of that episode Dudley's dad lit up a cigarette when he was alone. He couldn't kick the smoking habit and he didn't want the same thing to happen to his son. That was a kinda sad one.
There were a few seious episodes actually. I liked the funny ones better I guess.

Very accurate photos, the characters on the front match the season being featured.
Hughsgirl 04-11-2012, 10:26 AM I know season 3 from Shout will be unedited full versions of the episodes because they did a stand up job with the Leave It to Beaver set, but I was wondering, can someone please tell me if the first two seasons are full versions? It sounds like Shout just picked up the rights and were not the ones who released the first two seasons. If I'm reading your posts correctly.

Sony themselves released the first two seasons. Most of the episodes on Seasons 1 & 2 were unedited with a few exceptions: Retrospective & The Trip were originally one hour but episodes on the DVD are the edited syndicated prints which split the shows into two parts. I think I remember reading that Sony couldn't find the original one hour masters for those. Arnold's Girlfriend was originally a one hour episode, but on the DVD is presented as two parts but unlike the other two episodes it appears to not be missing any footage.

Now I remember what stopped me from buying those two seasons.

They're in the UCLA Film & Television Archives, as well as the Library of Congress. Sony could have gone with copies in those places. Lazy bums.

Maybe they can access those copies
Hughsgirl 04-12-2012, 08:57 AM Thank you for the information. If the extra film is out there as you said then I think Shout will get them. As I mentioned they did a great job with LITB-completely unedited and it was very worth the money. I do hope you all get the results you want out of this DVD that Shout is bringing out. I really don't think you will be disappointed at all.
Vahan 04-12-2012, 10:53 AM Minor nitpick (apologies in advance), but Diff'rent Strokes was shot on videotape, not film.
Johnny be good! 05-20-2012, 05:40 AM I'm so buying a copy.
