Former Law & Order: Criminal Intent captain Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio has signed on to guest star in the season finale of Grimm, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The actress — a 1987 Oscar nominee for her supporting role in The Color of Money — will play the intriguingly-monikered Woman in Black, the latest obstacle for Nick and Hank.

"Grimm‘s" Woman in Black will be back. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio will return to NBC’s fractured fairy tale later this season, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The actress will reprise her role of Kelly Burkhardt, aka the Woman in Black, aka Nick’s globetrotting mom, for multiple episodes this spring.



The "Grimm" matriarch hasn’t been seen in Portland since Season 2, but as Juliette discovered earlier this season, Mama Burkhardt has been keeping in touch with her son via email.

From what we hear, Kelly’s return will be connected to one of the series’ characters, but it won’t be Nick.
