TV Guide Magazine: Any fond memories of acting with Robin Williams on Mork & Mindy?


Melissa Francis: He was incredibly unpredictable. Every take we did he would do totally different from the last. I thought it was so entertaining, but you could see it wearing a little thin on the crew. He insisted they give me Mr. One Eye, the teddy bear I held through my scene. My son still has it, although it looks like it's going to fall apart any second.

Shouldn't the title say "NEVER got old"? If it was the other way around, Ms. Francis would have said that he was "PREDICTABLE".

I knew a Canadian couple once and we talked about Robin Williams and asked if they ever saw Mork and Mindy, and they never have. I told them what the story was like and then more or less said,

"Take Robin Williams in his 20's, coked up and let him loose on the stage". That's what he was like. Just absolutely manic. Cocaine is a horrible drug, but it made Williams' manic humor work well. I think Williams is more or less a weirdo to begin with, drugs or not.

this was one show that should have came on saturday mornings lol

I like Robin Williams' movies and love it when he goes on talk shows and let's loose but man this show is just garbage, as a kid I never once saw it in syndication but catching it awhile back on The Hub I wanted to see if I was missing out on something and nope I didn't.

Most of the time is just Williams doing his schtick and slowing the episode down with absurd storylines.
