Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal to Mentor "American Idol" Contestants

No Doubt's Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal are set to appear on "American Idol"!
The rockers will take on mentor roles for the competition's top 8 finalists, coaching the "Idol" hopefuls through the show's upcoming '80s theme week.
Tony and Gwen spent five hours with the "Idol" Season 11 finalists last week in preparation for Wednesday night's (April 4) show. While No Doubt are not an '80s band themselves, the members grew up during the decade and their cover of Talk Talk's 1985 song 'It's My Life' became a top-10 hit for the band.
"American Idol" expressed their excitement over the No Doubt singer and bassist's upcoming appearance on their official Twitter account.
"No Doubt's @gwenstefani & @TonyKanal will mentor the Top 8 for '80s week on #idol. Who's ready to rock?!"
