Hey, do we ever find out what Emily's master's degree is in, or if she ever officially gets it? I assume that it's in Education given that:

1. She's a teacher and indicates that she's "finally" getting the MA
2. She becomes vice-principle not too long after this (and I believe you need graduate education to do that)

Anyway, please let me know what you think.

I'm guessing Education Administration. That sounds about right for a vice principal.

Teacher here chiming in....

I think your guess about Emily getting her Administrative degree and credential is probably "right on". Every state has its own requirements, but most states require the Administrative credential to become even a "vice" or "assistant" principal. In the state of California, this requires so many classes that you may as well get your Masters while you're at it, plus you have to have at least 5 years of classroom experience. I couldn't say what the requirements are in Illinois, but my guess is that they're similar.
