View Full Version : Did the late (I presume he's dead) William D. Russell rezny717 03-29-2012, 11:53 PM Direct every NBC Episode of "Hazel"? Zoneboy 03-29-2012, 11:57 PM Direct every NBC Episode of "Hazel"? IMDb says he died in 1968 and directed 136 episodes. Leslie Eckhardt 03-30-2012, 01:56 AM IMDb says he died in 1968 and directed 136 episodes. That would figure to all of the NBC episodes and 11 of the CBS episodes. I never saw any other name on the director's credit on the NBC episodes. William D. Russell also directed many episodes of Father Knows Best and Dennis The Menace, as well as other Screen Gems shows of the era. I have the 1960 pilot to Pete and Gladys (Titled "For Pete's Sake") and William D. Russell is the credited director on that. jehobden 10-18-2016, 12:30 AM Russell also directed many episodes of Perry Mason. Hazel Anyday 10-18-2016, 09:32 PM Wow, died in 1968. It sounds like that guy worked himself to death directing all those shows in the '60's just prior to dropping dead. It's a strange thing about Hazel but so many of the people in that show died in less than 10 years after the show ended. Mr. Griffin died in 1968, Deidre died in 1968 too, Mr. Johnson (Herbert) died in 1969, :( Harold died in 1974, Rosie died in 1976, Barney died in 1978. On the other hand many of the people involved lived long lives:) , Hazel, Harry (Deidre's Husband), Harry Knoll (Mr. B's law co-worker), Mrs. Johnson, Mr. B, Mrs. B all lived nice long lives some into their 90's. |
