I always thought Ann was loved by everybody at the Today Show?... or that's what they want you to think, but Ann Curry is supposedly Hated by everyone at The Today Show(Her worst critic Matt Lauer) and is brining down the ratings. Drama is unfolding behind the scenes at NBC Today show and trouble is brewing, Ann Curry is about to be fired soon and either Two things may happen: Meredith may end up back at Today Show as Co-Anchor in a short term Contract to restore ratings or Savannah Guthrie may rweplace ann by the end of the year. It's obvious that Matt does not like Ann at all and can barely tolerate her and they have no chemistry, If it is true that he is about to sign a 3 or even 4 Years Contract he could be telling NBC that he will stay ONLY if they fire Ann!

Ann Curry Will Be Fired As Co-Host of the Today Show Because Everybody Hates Her
Since she replaced Meredith Viera as co-host of the Today Show last June, Ann Curry hasn't exactly impressed. "Hopeless," a source close to NBC executives said to describe her co-hosting abilities. "Atrocious," said another. "Strained."
And those are some of the kinder ones. But it's become a foregone conclusion amongst network insiders who have been watching the Today Show's inner-circle implode that once NBC gives Matt Lauer his presumed mega-deal, Ann is a good as gone. And it might happen even sooner than that.
And, although it's not directly stated in the New York magazine piece about Laurer, this passage relays the grim prognosis for Curry a lot more gently than it could have:
Lauer's worth only increased when Meredith Vieira left and handed the co-anchor chair to Ann Curry, who in the eyes of many television-news executives has experienced a rocky transition to her new role.
The subtext of that "rocky" transition, according to sources, is that Matt Lauer just "absolutely hates her" as a co-host and is fed up with watching Curry turn what was once NBC's most charismatic and engaging program into a joyless slog.
"Everybody knows she's gone," said one source. "Everybody knows she's gone," said another. "Everybody knows she's gone," said another.
But, if Curry can keep her damaged ego in check, there is also talk of repositioning her at NBC News as some sort of special foreign corespondent so she can get back to doing the more serious journalism she covets—and to keep her far, far away from most of the people she's annoyed during her Today Show stint.
The rumored frontrunner to replace Curry as Lauer's sunshine sidekick is Savannah Guthrie or bring back Meredith in a short term contract to restore ratings is a possibility .

Ann Curry Vs. Everyone At The Today Show
It’s been almost a year since Ann Curry relieved Meredith Viera of her early morning co-host duties at NBC’s Today Show, and it seems the inner whisperings among the cast/crew are that she is about to get AXED.
Apparently, the mighty Matt Lauer can’t stand his co-anchor and believes she has created a boring shell out of a once bright and fulfilling show.
When Viera left the show, Lauer's worth only increased, and in the eyes of many NBC execs Curry's transition into the co-anchor chair was "rocky."
Ouch!
Girl, you have a crazy journalistic track record, what are you doing soft news for, anyway!? Get back to what you're good at!
What do U think of Ann Curry’s Today Show hosting abilities??

Did Part Of Matt Lauer’s New Deal Include Booting Ann Curry From The Today Show?
New York magazine recently published a piece about Matt Lauer and his increasingly important role at NBC. Earlier this month we reported that Lauer was said to be close to a new deal with the network, which would put an additional $8 million in his pocket. Now, Gawker is asking if Lauer’s deal included getting his Today Show co-host Ann Curry off the gig.

Gawker points to this specific statement in the New York piece:
Lauer’s worth only increased when Meredith Vieira left and handed the co-anchor chair to Ann Curry, who in the eyes of many television-news executives has experienced a rocky transition to her new role.
The piece also emphasized Lauer’s central role in NBC’s “ad revenues in excess of $450 million in 2010.” After “playing the beta to Katie Couric’s alpha,” the article notes, “he’s now the linchpin of the franchise, his versatility and likability buoying the program ever since her departure in 2006.”
It’s not a secret that Lauer hasn’t been happy with his co-host. Furthermore, Today’s ratings have been down, with ABC’s Good Morning America catching up to them. Gawker quotes sources (ahem, Brian Williams strikes again?) saying Lauer “absolutely hates her.” Signaling her grim fate, the post also notes sources saying, “Everybody knows she’s gone.”
Rumored replacement? Possibly Savannah Guthrie, who currently serves as NBC’s chief legal analyst. It’ll be interesting to see how NBC shakes things up.
