I love reading other viewers favorite episodes for different TV shows.

My top favorite ILL episodes:

1. Ricky Needs an Agent (Hollywood episode)
2. Ricky Sells the Car (Ethel getting mad at Fred..LOL!)
3. Paris at Last (the 'interpretation' scene when Lucy's in jail!:lol: )

It's really hard to narrow down to just three. Some of other HILARIOUS ones -

Lucy Does the Tango and Off to Florida.:)

Diner episode: When the Ricardos and the Mertz's join together to buy and run a diner.

The freezer episode

Passport episode when Lucy tries to ride a bike from Italy to France with no passport.

From "the Diner" episode:

LUCY: "Ethel, I don't know what to do back there."
ETHEL: "It's really quite simple. Just put the patty on the grill and when your face is redder than the meat it's DONE!"

So many here love "Lucy Does a Television Commercial." I remember that used to always land the number one spot on Nick at Nite's top 10 countdown for the year!:) No one EVER could match Lucy's 'drunk' performance. It was pure GENIUS!

I love the one where Lucy buys all the baby chicks.

Also, I forget what it's called ... I think it's the last episode of season one, where Lucy, Ethel and Fred dress up like different people and pretend to be fans of Ricky Ricardo. Fred in drag = TOO FUNNY.

The baby chicks that I remember are in the Connecticut episodes.

I was going to go with Vitameatavegamin and the chocolates and my third being the one that clearly defined the Lucy chracter very early on in the series, The Fur Coat, BUT, seeing your choice of L A at Last reminded me that i just have to include that one in my top three of all time.:lol: :crazy:

These are three I have chosen OTHER than the obvious ones, since I really love all the shows. "Mertz and Kurtz", because of the fact that it's really the only episode I can think of where Ricky readily agrees to one of Lucy's schemes, and Charles Winninger is just so good in it. "The Black Wig" for the sight of Ethel in that hilarious multi-national costume, and "The Operetta" because I think it's the best musically-themed show. It's soooo hard to pick just three!

Now you see, i would never include Mertz and Kurtz in any FAVORITES as i hate it, it's sentimental more than funny, same as that Christmas show ep.

I don't know the episodes all that well but I know my favorite is the one where Lucy and Ether sing the song "friendship".

It's soooo hard to pick just three!

It is indeed. Every single ep mentioned has wonderful moments. For me, Return Home From Europe, was a classic that captured Lucy's zaniness well. ONLY Lucy would try to wrap up a 25 lb. cheese and pass it off as a baby. And the look on her face as she's drinking the baby formula. Priceless! And of course, Ethel, with the appetite of a horse, downing so many lbs. of cheese - her contribution to "disposing" of the baby. And, at the very end, when the officials ask Ricky if he didn't think all of this was strange behavior, he goes, with a deadpan expression "for Lucy? no". This ep captures the spirit of the show so well.

All those everyone mentioned are great episodes. Three of my favorites are:

Job Switching (when the girls work in the candy factory)

Lucy Learns To Drive (Ricky gives Lucy a driving lesson & then Lucy gives Ethel one with bad results)

I think Vivian Vance was great and I especially love her in that housewarming episode where she doesn't like Betty.

Betty: "I've loved parties since I was a little girl
Lucy: "Me too, so has Ethel, haven't you Ethel?"
Ethel "I haven't been to a party since I was a little girl.":lol:

The way she says that never fails to make me die laughing.
