Sean Snow 01-23-2002, 07:12 PM Does anyone know if the 13-episodes are going to be available on VHS anytime soon? Just askin, since that 10 tape thing is ten other tapes I think..since it lists 30 episodes.
LucyFan 01-25-2002, 06:21 PM This gives me an idea. I should order AITF on either DVD or VHS and give it to my grandfather on his birthday. He really loves "All in the Family". I remember him saying that he used to always watch it back in the 70's. He would never miss it.
Attmay 01-30-2002, 06:34 PM But beware...
The running time says 286 minutes, and since the shows in 1971 were 25 minutes at least, 286÷13=22, they could be edited unless this is wrong.
Or someone at Columbia thought there were 11 first season episodes:
286÷11=26.
Hey, if uncut is good enough for VHS it should be MANDATORY for DVD.
ThomasE 01-31-2002, 08:23 AM That sounds like a good idea. You should do it. This is for the person who wants to order for the grandad.
-------------
Archie: I could sure use a beer just about now.
Edith: Go for it!

I agree 100%. I wouldn't want to pay money for episodes edited down to TV quality.
Attmay 07-20-2002, 01:25 AM Guess what...
It is definitely UNCUT. All 13 episodes are unedited. It's safe to buy it. The running time stated on the discs is incorrect.
Now if they'd just hurry up with the subsequent seasons.
Moonlight Lady 11-01-2002, 12:29 PM I just ordered this for my father. He'll be so surprised. :)
Chad22 02-01-2003, 06:22 PM I Bought Season 2 at Walmart today for 25 Bucks. Good Buy.

I thought it wasn't supposed to be out until the 4th. Wish my Wal-Mart was that fast; lol.
Flash72 02-18-2003, 12:27 AM I just purchased the season two dvd today and was puzzled to discover that the season one set was priced higher than this newest set, does anyone know why? I am sure the answer is fairly obvious but as of yet, the reason has eluded me.
Also, am I correct in assuming that they plan on "slowly" releasing each subsequent season on a yearly basis?
ClesStahn 05-15-2003, 02:50 PM Yeah, I bought the second season DVD set yesterday, also. I just wanted to point out that I've already seen at least 4 scenes/dialogues that Nick-at-Nite must've cut out or something, because Ive watched some episodes that I've seen a bunch of times on Nick-at-Nite, and I see the "Un-cut" (For lack of a better word) stuff on the DVD.
EDIT 5/17/03: Jeez! I bought the First Season at Best Buy yesterday, and man, almost EVERY episode I see a little scene or few lines I NEVER saw on the same episodes on Nick-at-Nite. Do you think it's more "politically incorrect" lines, or just to make the time right since there's so many stinkin' commercials nowadays that Nick-at-Nite cuts this stuff out?
DarleneIllyria 05-15-2003, 08:17 PM Damn, I really need to catch up. I still haven't bought the AITF dvds. I hope to get them on my birthday, but we'll see.
ClesStahn 05-15-2003, 11:59 PM I'm planning on pickin' up the Season 1 ones tomorrow..
*GoodMorningCalgary* 08-29-2003, 12:26 PM what happened to Season 3? isn't it coming out? I haven't even heard anything about it yet. have they stopped or something?

It's coming in the Fall of 2004.
Lady T 04-08-2004, 12:19 AM I just purchased the complete first season DVD tonight; if I like it then I will purchase the 2nd season DVD and then the 3rd when it is released this July...
barwars 05-02-2004, 11:05 AM Im thinking of getting the first 3 seasons in July when Season 3 comes, and Season 1 has a price drop.

Did anyone besides me get the season 3 DVD? I'll begin watching later tonight. The episode titled "The Locket" is going to be interesting because I seem to remember a much longer ending then the version that TV Land/Cosby @ Nite show.
DVDFreaker 07-21-2004, 06:36 AM If you don't mind me asking, how much is it and from where you brought it from, I'm asking this because I do not want to get ripped off if I buy the DVD expensive and then later I find it cheaper at a different store.
Thanks!

I bought mine at Best Buy for $24.99.
DVDFreaker 07-21-2004, 08:08 AM Thanks! :) Is the package different or still the same?

When is the season 1 price drop? Did it take effect with the release of season 3?

It was back in June.
It dropped from $39.99 to $29.99.

 Wow, $39.99, I didn't realize.
Laugh30 07-09-2005, 04:00 AM I've been buying them from Ebay, all under 30 dollars with shipping included.
bossradio93 09-27-2005, 02:43 PM Hey, if uncut is good enough for VHS it should be MANDATORY for DVD.
I second it!!! What the home video industry did for movies on video for thirty (30) years and changed movie viewing habits forever, television on DVD is doing the same thing (hopefully)*. It's great folks like you who alert fans who want great classic shows released on DVD complete and uncut as they should be and what TV DVD series to avoid due to editing of selected episodes (or a whole season).
*What do I mean by 'hopefully'? I want fans to enjoy the same experience of enjoying the greatest television there ever was uncut and unedited and in-full, the way it was meant to be.
BTW, Where are the reviews of "All In the Family" (seasons 1 and 2)? I watched the very first episode on DVD from season 1 "Meet the Bunkers" and the picture quality is so prestine, so crisp. Just perfect, IMO! :)
comedyfreak 01-05-2006, 06:37 AM I bought Season 5 on ebay for $21.84 including shipping.
Johnny be good! 09-12-2007, 03:04 PM I'll be sure to purchase them soon.
mpnaples 09-28-2007, 10:57 AM Does anyone know the quote Edith says to Archie when she goes on a tirade about "nothing" (Edith's 50th Birthday episode)

I now own all 9 seasons.
I agree 100%. I wouldn't want to pay money for episodes edited down to TV quality.
You mean that a VHS and a DVD of the exact same episode from the exact same show may have different scenes in them ?
How do they decide on which outtakes to leave in?
Dude111 05-04-2026, 04:26 PM Some of them are on VHS but I dont know if EVERY EPISODE is..
I do have EVERY STAR TREK episode on official VHS tape... (Original series)
Thats the only show I know of that EVERY EPISODE is on VHS :)
