I remember a few years ago the Simpsons were made as the candy bar's Ad Mascots. I also remember seeing an episode of The Simpsons where they diss Butterfingers candy bars. Was there a bad falling out between the two brands? Just curious...

Interesting question. Butterfinger commercials were featured as extras on some of the early season DVDs, so it must have been after that.

Maybe the Bart/Butterfinger connection had just run its course. I don't recall a Clara Peller style falling out where Bart was promoting something else.

Nestle's deal with "The Simpsons" lasted from 1990 to 2001, with the character of Bart launching many slogans for the candy bar. When the contract was terminated, the show made fun of the candy bar in one episode in which Bart's mother Marge tried to burn them, and they wouldn't burn. That's what I call sour grapes! Nestle and "The Simpsons" seemed to have made their peace in 2009 when another Simpson-related ad for Butterfinger went on the air.
