For the last couple of weeks, I have been racking my brain trying to think of new and innovative ways to stimulate some conversation! Not only about this show, but also about "Caroline in the City" and "Gimme a Break!". Very little success! The only page that I frequent that has seen any significant action latley has been that of "Happy Days". It has even been a couple of days since that has happened! In any event, I see that one of my recent posts has thirty views and zero replies. I would like to commemorate this reality by writing about something that happened thirty years ago (1982). The event that I am referring to is that fact that Olympic athlete Jim Thorpe was recredited with have won all of the medals that he was stripped of because of a tiny little technocality. Even though he was long dead, the books were re-written and his family was given replecas of all of his medals. In addition to site traffic, I would say that there is another reason for writing about this situation on a "Mad About You" page. Doing something nice for a Native American family was a politically correct thing to do at the time. I would consider "Mad About You" a very politically correct show! I would bet that Paul and Jamie would both agree with the Olympic Board's decision!
