Let's not forget what a contribution Lisa Gerritsen made to the series as Bess Lindstrom. Here was one terrific child actor who made a potentially bratty and unlikeable character a real, warm and likeable little girl. She didn't appear in all that many episodes, but her character was essential as a mirror to Phyllis's psyche. Her sweet portrayal from time to time brought out the human side of Phyllis and made her character more real and less of a cartoon. I've often wondered what ever happened to Lisa after the cancellation of Phyllis.

I was curious too, and Googled her a while back. She stopped acting, and is working in the IT field. I liked her character a lot; seemed like she'd be a very smart girl in real life as well.
