View Full Version : How many TV fans watch these 4 channels the most right now?
TVFactFan 03-22-2012, 05:59 PM The Hub
Hallmark
Antenna TV
Me-TV
Those 4 channels has give Classic TV new life and it is such a good feeling that we tv fans no longer have to depend on TV Land and Nick@Nite to see tv shows that aired before 1990.
These channels below are no longer apart of classic TV and it doesn't matter-
TBS
TV Land
Nick@Nite
Brian Damage 03-22-2012, 06:07 PM Well said Solomon, I just hope these stations don't eventually "sell out."
Do Antenna and Me air their episodes uncut?

I sure hope they don't but it wouldn't surprise me if they do. With all the channels out there, it seems like classic tv fans always get the short end of the stick.
TVFactFan 03-22-2012, 06:15 PM Do Antenna and Me air their episodes uncut?
No they air the local syndicated versions. But that's still better than no classic tv at all-lol Just think 8 years ago it was no chance to watch
Maude
WKRP in Cinncinnati
The Ropers
Three's a Crowd.
So I accept the EDITS-lol

I hope one of these channels celebrate's Norman Lear's 90th Birthday because I know TV land doesn't give a sh*t anymore-LOL
Mr. Television 03-22-2012, 06:22 PM I hope one of them brings Chico and the Man back.
TVFactFan 03-22-2012, 06:32 PM I hope one of them brings Chico and the Man back.
It's still hope going by the pattern of Antenna TV. I just hope they don't start adding post 1990 shows.
MRPITT 03-22-2012, 06:58 PM Do Antenna and Me air their episodes uncut?
METV speeds up some of their shows so they do show some of them uncut just sped up. A couple shows air uncut on antenna tv, Here Come the Brides is one.
Those are pretty much the only channels I watch outside of sports.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Facts of Life announcement.

Antenna TV and MeTV are not cable networks, so they will not "sell out." They are digital simulcast networks and the purpose for them is to show older programming. They don't have national ads like cable networks like TV Land, and they never will, so they won't create original programming or buy newer (which are expensive) shows with the ad money.
Hallmark and The Hub's focus is not classic TV, so they can't "sell out" when they are not primarily in that business. And they are cable nets.

Hallmark and The Hub's focus is not classic TV, so they can't "sell-out" when they are not primarily in that business. And they are cable nets.
So I don't see hallmark airing a lot of shows beyond 1990 so it looks like a vintage tv channel to me-lol
Pavan 03-22-2012, 08:41 PM Hallmark may air older programming, but they produce new TV movies and have an entire original programming block every weekday from 10am-3pm. So their focus is not on classic TV like Antenna TV and MeTV. So whatever older series they air, we're lucky they are airing them.
The Hub only airs classic sitcoms in primetime/late night, with a mix of new and old children's/animated series the rest of the day.
TVFactFan 03-22-2012, 08:45 PM That Sunday schedule for Me-TV is going to be popping for me in July
1pm-Happy Days
1:30pm-Happy Days
2pm-Laverne and Shirley
2:30pm-Laverne and Shirley
I can't do anything with it now since the NBA is on during that time

The thing I like about the METV airings of Happy Days & Laverne and Shirley is they seem to air alot of episodes that INSP and HUB skipped, they also speed them up a little which allows them to air additional scenes cut from the other channels.

What episodes were skipped? Holiday episodes or controversial?

They showed holiday episodes I think the main reason they withheld those episodes was because they didnt think they were appropriate for their audiences.

LUNCH 03-27-2012, 01:15 PM Do Antenna and Me air their episodes uncut?
I can only comment on Antenna TV since Me-TV is still not available here. Some shows are cut, some are not. However I noticed on the shows that are edited, they are edited a lot less than cable stations that air the same show. And the picture quality is better."Leave it to Beaver" being one example looks crystal clear on Antenna-TV,on TVLand it's all washed out etc.
Ryan Chamberlain 03-27-2012, 02:12 PM Yep. Throw in SoapNet for their late night AMC/OLTL/GH reruns from 1-7 and those five channels are what I watch the most.
I still get SoapNet for now. But, when I lose it I'll be watching The Hub all freaking night like I did until September.
