Peace all,

So I've been visiting and reading old and new threads on this forum...sad to see only one or two active members left here though. But if anyone wants to talk abt FOL, I'll be here. I just saw the whole nine seasons late last year. Nine seasons in three months, I was that hooked! Jo's my favorite, obviously, and I was so happy to find out I was not alone in my passionate love for FOL :D

So have a few topics (and requests) in mind...let's see if we fans can get this board back on the road.

In the later seasons, I liked "Edna's Edibles." I didn't like when it became "Over Our Heads." I thought that was a really dumb store. I also liked Mrs. Garrett a lot better than Beverly Ann.

I also liked Blair the best out of all the girls. She was funny when she would say "I just had another one of my brilliant ideas."

Oh, I totally agree. That shop was awful...sort of depressing how they went all gung-ho over it. But still, the last two seasons gave us episodes like "3,2,1" and "Seven Little Indians". Would have been wayy better with Mrs. G tho.

And Blair...comedy gold! But Jo will always be my favorite :) thanks for replying

Jo was funny at times. I remember when the girls were still living at Eastland above the kitchen. And they had to do some re-painting. They all had an argument and they were talking about life and stuff. Jo says "you're born, you move on, you die, that's life..."

Oh, I love the episode "3, 2, 1". It might be one of my top five favorites of the whole series (I love almost every episode, but that one's way up on the list)! And Jo's my favorite, too!
BTW, welcome to the boards! :)

Thank for the welcome :)
I heard somewhere it's Lisa's favorite episode too.
"3, 2, 1" did make use of a slapstick comedy device, but wasn't it done ever so...awesomely? Like Jo used all the action that ensued to get her point through, and succeeded.
Not like Disney would probably do it...the super-important thing would probably be a dance, or a boy they like for one episode, and end up with both characters covered in bruises.

I totally agree! I just rewatched that episode and was cracking up the whole time. :) Awesome to learn it was Lisa's favorite episode, too.

Johnny be good!

I liked Over Our Heads. Edna's Edibles wouldn't have worked for the final three seasons.

Why not? I was hoping they would rebuild it with the insurance money after the fire and so all of them would own it, but they got this weird shop instead. It never seemed popular even in their world, unlike Edna's Edibles

Edna's Edibles looks good to me now, a middle-aged suburbanite, but back in the 80's I was about the girls' age and I LOVED weird shops like that. (I'm think of the Discovery Store in Davis, CA in the mid-80's. Anyone else remember?) I suppose that's what the producers were thinking. They wanted to attract the youngish audience.

Oh, by the way, welcome, AnnaMarie. I watched all nine seasons last summer twice over. I was so hooked that when I took a vacation in the middle of that, I really missed "my girls" and was glad to see them again when I got home.

I only watched the show occasionally during the 80's since I was a poor college student then with no TV. (Still no TV so I watched on YouTube this last summer! ) LUV this show!!

Why, thank you. Glad to see people are still here. I also watched all the episodes on YouTube...I live in a country where FOL was never aired to my knowledge. Stumbled upon it by pure accident and seriously...I've watched many sitcoms but have never loved the characters so much as in this one.

I wasn't able to find the whole of season 1 on YouTube but I bought as many seasons as I could on DVD. Most people seem to dislike season 1 but I thought it was fun to watch and try to figure out how the producers decided which girls to cut going into season 2. Blair and Tootie had significant material in almost every episode so I thought they were a no-brainer to stay on (easy to write for them). The other girls were more difficult to evaluate.

I liked season 1 too...I didn't know about the cast being laid off then, so the first two episodes of season 2 were a shocker for me :) but even while watching Season 1, I knew the show had nine seasons and I was wondering how such a show would go that far, because Season 1 wasn't that good and that huge cast would be difficult to maintain.

Thank goodness for Jo...as one youtube comment said, she has magical powers

I agree, Jo had magical powers! lol. :) Nancy Mckeon (Jo) definitely did breathe new life into the show, so to speak. She brought a dynamic to the show that was missing in season 1 and made the show more interesting, imo. She's my favorite character! It was great that they brought in a character to shake things up like she did.

This is my favorite show. FOL and Gilmore Girls are the only shows I can watch 50 million times in a row and still not get tired of it. I think one of the reason I really like this show is because of how well the girls turned out in real life. They turned out wonderful respectful women with good morals. I think most of my favorite episodes are in the later season. My top 10 favorite episodes are: Crusin, Doo Wah, Last Drive-in, 7 little Indians, Come back to the Truck Stop Natalie, Talk Talk Talk, Green Eyed Monster, 4 musketeers, Dear Apple, 3,2,1 and Tootie Drives.

It's also nice to see new fans, welcome to the FOL message board AnnaMarie, you will enjoy it here, I have been on here since 2001 and I still enjoy discussing this show with everyone here.

Me, too! I love both those shows.

Come Back to the Truck Stop, Natalie, 3, 2, 1, and Talk Talk Talk are the funniest from the later seasons (and maybe of the whole series), imo. I also love Green-eyed Monster.

I agree one of the reasons is because they all turned out to be good girls in real life. That's very rair and very cool:) I can't wait until 6,7,8,and 9 are released.Ive only seen the first 5 seasons recently.Loved every season but i think 5 was my fav out of those. It's hard to say for sure though. That being said,i think i might of liked Blaire the best in the first season.
