I know that many people will disagree with me but I have never felt the desire to own every single episode of every series I collect. I actually own only two complete series: Wonder Woman, because I got a great deal on it and Life On Mars (U.S. Version), because they only made a 17 episode single season. I'm happy to have a good sampling of episodes from my favorite series. For example, I have 50 eps of Mister Ed. The Barnyard Favorites disc from MGM, The second complete season from Shout! and the "Best of, Vol.2" from MGM. This gives me all my favorite episodes from the series. Four of the "Barnyard" episodes are duplicated on the Shout! second season set, but I also have three sixth season episodes on the "Best of" set which it looks like won't be seen on the Shout! series. I have only season one of Bewitched because it is my favorite season and I feel the writing went down in later seasons. I have only the first season of The Patty Duke Show for similar reasons. As I said I know there will be many who will disagree, but with what I have collected, I am a happy camper. I am looking forward to the Dark Shadows Fan Favorites disc coming soon. A managable 9 episode overview of a unique TV series.

it depends on the show; most shows that I like enough to want to buy ANY of their dvd sets, I am going to want to get the whole series.

I'd love to have the complete Dark Shadows release but it's out of my price range at nearly $500. It was indeed an unique show but a 9 episode so-called overview of a series that lasted over 1200 episodes seems like a waste of time to me.

I'm not a completionist at all. Actually, I'm not sure that I have any complete series besides ones that were one season wonders. Usually my interest in a show dips by the third season. I agree with the first poster. If you're happy with what you've got and manage to get all of your favorite episodes in a few sets, then you might as well save your money for other fun stuff.

If I like the tv show, I want to get the whole series. Now if its a Tv Show I find mildly entertaining, I MIGHT get the whole series but who knows? The only time I won't buy a complete series is if I hate the show

I guess you can call me a "completist". Last month I ordered both animated versions of Robocop (Thanks I*ff*r). :D When I found out there was a live-action version of this show bouncing around, I took the liberty of procuring this series as well, but this time from "The Big River". patriot:

It depends on the show. Some you love all the way through, but then there are others where the seasons are uneven in quality.

I would buy a complete set for Friends, but say for Laverne & Shirley, I'd only get the first five (Milwaukee) seasons.
