Sorry, robyrob, I thought you were serious. I wish 'American Idol' would get cancelled, too, along with most of the other reality shows.

I'll be sort of glad if Alcatraz doesn't come back. The show started out interesting and then tapered off part way through the season.

We Got It Made (1983)

Never have I hated a sitcom more than this poor excuse.

The Mommies

This show infuriated me in a way that only reality shows do. It was extremely bad and no funny at all.

Interesting question.

Probably my one choice would be "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" Gawd, I hated this freaking show. I did not like the format, and I really disliked Regis Philbin. I don't hate Regis Philbin, he's probably a good guy (because everyone in the business says he is), but his on air persona was so LOUD, and ANNOYING. Ever see him on Regis and Kathie Lee/Kelly?

The first six questions were very easy. Usually the dumber people failed after the fifth question, with only $1000 bucks and then the next contestant would come on, and I just hated the show.

Also....."IS THAT YOUR FINAL ANSWER?" This was part of the general lexicon when the show was first on. I have always thought it was sort of a ********* question, and I really dislike when the whole society latches on to a saying. Fortunately, this show collapsed almost as quickly as it risen.

ABC thought they had a winner for life, with them at the time being the fourth place network who struck gold. For whatever reason, the "shine" of the show wore off and people got sick of it and tuned it out (to my pleasure). It was actually very interesting. Millionaire got incredible ratings, NBC and CBS made copycats, both failed entirely, and then Millionaire was expanded (because ABC thought , "Hey, we can bank these numbers everyday") and it tanked.

Millionaire spawned other prime time TV shows. NBC revived the show "21" and picked of all people, Maury Povich to host. Why Povich is beyond me. His show only lasted about 5 months and died.

CBS also had some game show and got Dick Clark to host it. It was called "Winning Lines" and they got Dick Clark to host it. Clark made better sense as a host because he was a successful game show guy but by 2000 Clark was a "moldy oldie". The guy was 70 years old when his show came on. Came and fortunately quickly died.

I did read that there is a successful daytime version hosted by Meredith Viera and a successful UK series. Good for them. I think now that there are so many channels out there that one can usually find the series that they like and ignore the rest. I am pulling a number out of my ample butt, but there is probably close to 100 original in production series now. Plus 60 years of reruns. If you can say "there is nothing on", you hate everything.

Otherwise, I do not hate if a show goes off the air. It is either a show that has been on for a long time that I had no interest in watching, or the show sucked and it tanked. There have been series that I did like but was cancelled the first season. "The Good Guys" is one (that show was funny as ****). "Harry's Law" is another. That's life. People like waht they like. One man's garbage is another man's gold.

There was a really stupid reality show, something to do with dating with masks on, hosted by Monica Lueinsky. I think it lasted 2 or 3 episodes. I was so glad this got yanked from the schedule promptly, and Monica went back into obscurity.

Prison Break was so good in its first season, but the premise was not meant to be a long term series. They should have stopped after the second season. I liked seeing what happened to everyone after the break-out (season 2), but then they dragged it out with another two seasons and a bad movie. It was definitely time to cancel it by the time they did.
