Or was he just afraid of being alone. I just saw an episode where Ted proposes to Georgette on the air and later backs out because he has "cold feet." The initial reason he proposed to her in the 1st place was because he hated being alone.

I think he really loved her in his own inept way. I remember when Georgette almost leaves him, how broken up he got. (Can't remember the exact ep, but I believe she suspected he was cheating on her.)

I'll have to check that episode out, because thus far it seems like the only reason he married Georgette, was because he had no other prospects. lol

Yes,he did love Georgette when they got married and after,when he was a family man.
He was rotten to her at first,as Georgette was a bit of a door mat,love it when she starts to stand up to him.
Georgette was a bit dizzy,but she said to Mary just before she married Ted that she knew what he was like,and basically someone has to love him!
