Howard Hesseman's 3 shows that I am aware of are all either incomplete or unavailable on DVD. First up is WKRP, which by the looks of it will never see a season 2 release. Secondly, we have his 80's sitcom, Head of the Class, which is not yet available on DVD. Why is that? I understand to some degree why WKRP will never get a full complete DVD release, but why HOTC?!?

PS,

Hesseman's 3rd series, which he isn't even the star and appeared in the final seasons of the sitcom, One Day At A Time, has stalled as well. Howard Hesseman has ZERO luck when it comes to getting his shows released...

Unfortunately, the biggest hold-up for this show is the music rights. It's tough for me to decide whether I'd rather have no music as long as they release the episodes or if I'd rather hold out for having all the music left intact. Either way, I hope to see more WKRP on DVD soon!

It's funny how HOTC was never a hit in syndication. It was a very funny show. I think it hasn't been released on dvd because they probably thought people forgot about it.

Hesseman did OK as an actor, but I wish he could have done more. He is still acting, just two weeks ago, he was a one off character on Mike and Molly.

The reasons behind WKRP's slow release because of the music is absolutely asinine. I do not understand, but any explanation would still be stupid. What about the literal thousands of movies with copyrighted music in them? Oh well. I know a website where I can watch the series.

I never really saw Head of the Class. Why, I can't really say. I remember the principal guy was a boob and unfunny. Hesseman did not have to be Johnny Fever, but he seemed miscast in this show somehow. More or less played it straight. I know that he left the show in the end, with another guy teaching the 24 year old seniors for the last season.

Ann Romano married Dr. Johnny Fever and Barbara Cooper married Eddie Van Halen and lived happily ever after.

Television producers are notoriously cheap. That is why WKRP was shot on Video Tape, filming the series would have cost them much more in music royalties.
