I know this will not be a very popular opinion on this board but I have been kind of disappointed with the new season. Don't get me wrong, I think the characters are great, I liked the first episode, I love the new additions – Nate and Raina - and there are good moments (like the ones you guys have pointed out). But overall I think the episodes have focused too heavily on the cases and not enough on the characters. I love the characters and I would love to see them all interact more with each other. Plus I hate being left hanging with some of the stories. Take Jinny for instance. The first episode ends with her feeling desperate and calling the AA guy for help but two episodes later, we have yet to find out what happened with that. Did the guy take her back? Did he come help her? Has she felt that way since that night? What happened to her angry mood? I don't like all the gaps. I would like to see the police investigations toned down a bit with more emphasis on the character's lives. That's just my opinion.

Although I am not nessacarily dissapointed with the show, I do fully agree with you. I don't like how they just leave you hangng. Like last night I was hoping when they found out that the father had killed himself I was hoping Magda would ask Jinny more about her mom. I mean if Magda is this great friend she would not just leave it alone knowing fulwell that jinny feels she is responsible. I just wish they would finish what they start with the Characters.

i agree...i wanna know what happened w/ jinny and her sponsor ! BUT ....they're focusing next week's episode towards cd and she'll be confronting her past. they've been showing magda's personal life a lot lately w/ the whole gabe issue and next weeks episode will focus on magda as well. as for kate..well having a new boss is like all that's going on in her life right now. :D i think if they bring amanda back...pregnant....we'll see more of kate's inner self (don't know where that came from). they should do something w/ raina..all we know is that she is a young, energetic and full of live officer ! same goes w/ nate. but we're only into 3 episodes. we've got 19 more ! so don't worry. that's how it was last season too. (expect for kate...she had amanda's marriage and all) they didn't focus on their lives outside of cases till like the 4th episode or 5th ! :D

Oh yeah, there may be a few spoilers that one or two of you don't know about....

I'm not sure what my take on the new season is yet. I love the fact that they are finally focusing more on cases and it actually feels like a COP drama. Last year the critics rammed TD because it was too personnal. I agreed with them at points because I was craving a good case episode towards the end of season one...and finally got two or three. I think the writers are attempting to mix the professional and personnal lives with each character, but it's hard. There are six characters and they're trying not to focus on just one, which is very understandble. Hopefully they will be able to find a midpoint between the professional and personnal lives...
As for those evil cliffhangers of theirs, LIFETIME is 'evilly smart.' They're leaving us hanging and wanting more. I don't really blame them. It takes a few episodes to really build up where they want to go with the season, so within the next few weeks I think they will have settled into a nice range...examples are next week's ep with C.D....they are tying her personal life into a case it seems; and Magda will have those issues with Gabe. In a few weeks Teddy returns which shows Jin's personnal side. Soon to come we're informed of why Raina is on desk duty. It seems they're moving in to the more personal sides while trying to keep up good case episodes, which I think is a good idea. At the moment the two most mysterious characters to me would have to be Cap and Nate. We know a bit about Cap, but where in the heck did Nate come from? He mentioned in the premiere he had a new gig-what was his previous one? Why did he replace Angela? HELLO...someone inform us about Nate. All I know is that he is C.D's partner, which isn't telling me alot...

AHEM...sorry it was so long. Gonna head back to my hole for now, sorry if I offended anyone...

I totally agree w/ you Eva! I mean, i really want to see more of Jinny's Drinking problem, and what happend to that guy that Kate was all romantic w/ at the season finale of last season? Did he just up and leave? I was hoping for some action there!! And CD and Pauls divorce...i'm sure next week might talk about it more...but she's just up and over it? I wanna see some scenes that ya know, give you that, "i'm gonna crY" feeling...ok, i'm done.

Thanks!

PS: IT'S MY PET PEEVES THAT THEY JUST UP AND FORGOT ABOUT ANGELA! I WANTED A FREAKIN PLOT!!!

I agree with all of you guys...so ironic cuz I was gonna post something similar.

It was disappointing that we were left hangin after the premier eppie when Jinny was on the phone to her sponsor,,there has been no further word on her rehab.

This is the list of dropped or unfinished stories in the past year:

-Cap/Asst. DA
-Magda/Peter
-Magda/her family excl. Ben
-CD/Angela partnership
-Angela/breast cancer
-Jin/Karate
-Jin/Teddy,,imo their breakup lacked closure
-CD/rape
-Whatever happened to Angela?

I am spoiler free, so some of these may be picked up in later episodes,,,but overall we have been left hanging on many stories.

I agree with you guys, I wanna see more personal stuff!! Cases don't interest me that much, if they never did one, I'd be happy...LOL, but I realize they gotta do em, it's part of their lives...but I still want more development on he whole Jin just getting outta rehab, struggling with alcohol, living at home...grrr...LOL, but February sounds like a good Jin personal stuff month...I can't wait!!!!! hehe

Yeah, so far she has struggled once. ONCE! And do we know what happened that time or after that time? NO! We don't. I mean her dad is an alcoholic and he can't give it up *snaps* that fast. Like the minuet Jinny walk sin the door he's throwing the bottles out..... I know that's not going to last too much longer. Yeah, Febuary TEDDY'S BACK!!!!!!!!!! AHAHAHAHA! Well at least that will be good!

Yeah, we need more Angela. More in depth about when she left, we know why she left but I mean they could follow up on how her life is now or how killing that man is affecting her everyday.

All the cases that they seem to have involve murder or some sort of death.... not as original as least season *sighs* They gotta work on that!

AND I WILL SAY THIS AGAIN! TEDDYS IS BACK BECAUSE HE WILL NEVER LEAVE!

I was afraid I was the only one that felt this way.

I'm surprised the critics want more cop stuff. I think the best part of the show is the characters and their stories. Compare it to ER. ER is a medical drama but the focus is on the characters, with the medical storylines used as a backdrop. I think the Division would work well with that same technique. I guess I just find the cop stuff a little boring, especially the mother/son murder case on this weeks show. :sleep2: But it looks like some more interesting personal stuff is coming up so it should get better. :)

my only big complaint right now is what happened to Ange??? They said all of one thing about her in the first episode, Magda said it to Jin, but that was it. I want more about why, when, ya know, stuff like that. I kinda like the way they leave us hangin, but they should come back to it. They never really continue up on it. The only main thing they've ever continued with was CD's ex partner, Dick, suicide. And I want more on that case, like what Cap wants to do with it. But they'll eventually get into the good stuff.

I can't wait for Teddy to come back, he's sooooo cute-and all mine. I really want to know what happens with CD next week, which will go more into personal lives, and I want to konw what happened w/ Jin and her sponsor. I do like what lifetime does. And the show is really really really good. They just need to continue with what they start.

This is still an awesome show, and if you check lifetime's schedule, you know thay personal lives are starting to come into play here. But they need to keep the cases in there. I like that part too, although I've always liked that part of cop shows. but I still like the part with the personal lives. I'm kinda torn right now. I like the way the show has been, but I also want it to show the personal lives more. It's kind of weird.

Sorry if that was really long...:typing: (That's how I look doing this thing) buh bye now!

Yes. I wish TD would follow. That's what I like so much about ER. It focuses on personal things with the character

I can not fully understand how you can be disapointed already. There were only 3 new epsiodes (ONLY 3 hours...) and you can't go rushing things. For ex. If you found out what happened with Jinny and her sponser, and her drinking issue, and she told her entire rehab story, and they told you what happened with Angela, and Teddy was already back, and Mag and Gabe figured everything out, just so we fans wouldn't be left "hanging", what would be left for episode....27?
