In the recent past, I have tried very vigorously to stimulate some conversation about this fine series. Just take a look at how much success I have had! At this stage in the game, I am really scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of things pertaining to the show to write about. As far removed as Randy Travis is from "Gimme a Break!" I am now going to write about him as a port in the storm! My last thread on this page has thirty views and zero replies. Thirty years ago was 1982. I have already written about the fact that this was the year that two of my favorite "Gimme a Break!" episodes were made. I also tied in such realities as Barbara Mandrell's near fatel car accident and Jim Thorpe being re-credited with having won all of the medals that he had been stripped of because of a technocality. Well, I believe that it was in 1986, that rising star Randy Travis performed a hit song about 1982! The year that the song was about was in fact the title of the song. His first album was called "Storms of Life" and this song was featured on it. Because of how many pleasent memories I had of this year, I was very anxious to get my hands on this album! Another very famous song that really boosted his career and that was included on his album was "On the Other Hand". And one last piece of trivia that I am going to offer you guys is that, during the brief period of Joan Rivers' late night variety show, he made a guest appearance! Good for you Randy!
